I definitely did an intake on my Accord for the audible and not necessarily the HP gain. Sounds good at the end there. Not going to lie, this is the first time I've seen an intake sit like that. Interesting setup. Great video as always. Keep it up bud.
Thx dude! OH ya I had the base map ready (after all the mods I did) and I finished the full tuning process shortly over a week ago! I have many video's coming of it all! Can't wait to share! Thx for commenting bro!
I didn't see it in the video. But did you have issues getting the intake pipe to reach the air inlet hose? I have the same setup as you with the "Perrin turbo air inlet". Unfortunately when when I go to connect the two, I have a hard time getting the lower brackets close enough to connect the bolts. Im thinking either use another spacer, or look at the turbo air inlet on the flange side to see if I can maybe wiggle out a little more slack. Thanks again for the great content.
Hope you can comment back on this but I put this on without a tune considering the fact Perrin said we don’t need a tune. Everything went properly but I had a check engine light on. I thought maybe the maf needed to recalibrate due to more air being brought in. After awhile of driving, the car started to surge and bug back and fourth, let me know how long you ran the intake without the tune and how it went
I ran mine well over two years this way, because they don’t even tune for this, or you can’t get a tune for this, you’d need a pro / custom dyno tune if you wanted to. Surging sounds like you’ve probably got a leak somewhere though. The connection from this and the turbo is pretty important, critical really, and it’s just a hose clamp. Sounds like you have a leak somewhere, that’s all I can think of.
Nop I’m running my car completely stock the only mods that I do is Boomba BPV,Perrin Charge pipe and Perrin intake. Until this days everything is fine my car have 60k miles no check engine lights 0 problems.
Hey man! Been following your build since the nameless muffler delete video! Quick question, would you recommend Perrin's CAI if the car is daily driven here all year round including Winterpeg's winter? Or do I need the ones with box like Cobb big SF? Thanks much!
Yo dude! I've run the Perrin intake all winter last year, deep snow, wet snow, -40*C some days, and it totally ran fine. Perfect actually, no problems. If anything it's actually even louder in the cold... it sounds amazing haha!! Thanks for the comment man and for watching!
I love the sounds the intakes make on the FAs although Perrin said you don't need a tune, I would wonder how the MAF could compensate all the extra volume of air being introduced. Another awesome video buddy! 👍
Because the MAF doesn't need to compensate anything for the additional air. The MAF simply MEASURES incoming air (indirectly, but that's another topic)... so more air coming in due to the intake = the MAF measuring more air coming in. Simple. The big problem with some other intakes is that they modify the tubing or location of the MAF and that throws off the MAF calibration.... So more air coming in, but the MAF doesn't measure it accurately (because the pipe and maf location have changed) = boom.
Did you guys disconnect ur negative terminal before starting the install or can I do with install with the negative terminal still on?? Scared something will happen lol
You don't need a tune for the intake. If you get a tune, it will just take more advantage of the intake and get slightly more use of it. With no tune it's just going to sound really epic but with tune you'll take full advantage of performance benefits.
It's a pain in the ass because 1) my jack isn't low profile at all and 2) my front splitter is huge haha. So I jack the SIDE pinch weld, then put a ramp beneath the wheel. Then I can go jack from the mid-point in the middle, so I go do that, and then put 2 jack-stands beneath pinch welds each side. (Rear is easy I go from rear diff and pinch weld stands).
Oh damn, well you could just take the bolts to a hardware store and find the same size and thread pitch! They're not a custom unique bolt, you'll just have to find the size replacement!
There's only 1 gas station with 94 here, so to be safe if I ever need 91 (and if I travel anywhere, like other provinces, they don't have 94 really), 91 is safer.
Oh wow, well I had the base map immediately after (because I did TGV and EGRs you need the tune), so I immediately began the tuning process and now finished with my final tune, and car's running great DAM always 1.000 hasn't dropped once (sooo much better after removing TGVs!)
Nice dude, the intake changes the sounds so much. It's like a whole new car.

Finally! Congrats. Hopefully you have a base map from your tuner before driving. Enjoy the swissshyness sounds.

@@SpencerHogg can't wait to hear and see your new poooowa!
Man I really miss my WRX. The intake and custom tune, along with the TGV and EGR deletes are what I had planned for it. Love how it turned out👍
Thanks bro!!!
Woooooooosh!!! Looks great man. I haven't seen the perrin intake before.

what if I put a smaller AEM Dry flow cone filter instead of the big Perrin cone filter?
Coming along nicely.
Thanks dude!

@@SpencerHogg thank you, sounds good
That sound clip at the end was a cliffhanger
Hahahah!
I have 3 years with Perrin intake I have to admit is much better than Cobb sounds better and make a better turbo noise.
have u tuned it? or nah bc im thinking of getting this so i dont have to worry about tuning

Thanks spencer for these awesome videos helps a lot .. awesome car man... keep doing vids like this 👍👍🤙🤙
Yoo thanks so much bro!!
Cool video bro love from Australia
Thanks bro!!!
Cool CAI
So does this mean that I can run this perrin intake with the stock tune? If not, what did you mean when you said that it does not need a re-tune?
You don't need a tune for the intake.
If you get a tune, it will just take more advantage of the intake and get slightly more use of it. With no tune it's just going to sound really epic but with tune you'll take full advantage of performance benefits.
NinjaxBart that’s nice to know. I appreciate your feedback.
do you jack your car up then put the ramps underneath them like that?

oh wow that's pretty smart lol my jack is low profile but still can't get it under the mid-point in the middle. now I can do what you do thanks!
I broke the 2 bolt studs on the bracket. Is there a way to replace those?
Oh damn, well you could just take the bolts to a hardware store and find the same size and thread pitch! They're not a custom unique bolt, you'll just have to find the size replacement!
NinjaxBart yea the thing is there is no access to the end of the bolt so theres no way to screw it out. i might have to use a screw extractor i guess
@@ronniedarko2536 just screw drill it out. Use galvanised wire to hold the it down?
Getting tuned on what gas?
91 tune, but on 94 gas for reasonssss
NinjaxBart Interesting, I'm tuned on 94 Petro and no issues.

I see good call.
Just watch your DAM and KNOCK...I lasted a week before my tune. It was horrible to drive and scary!
