Enjoyed the video! JUST found your channel. Ironic we just hit up some Striper fishing and about to go again. California here though. Great info and fishing! Course having hot action helped to be sure! Lots of DANG sweet catches. Like the width of that water way. Can cover most of that area with ease, kind of like they must go by your lures. Love Striper battles! Right on for the video.... Ken & Lea
Buzzards bay in MA has been solid up the rivers. Talking to a few old timers, they said there a lot of striper pods that will bypass most of the southern coast and head straight to MA because they know it's good eating. They were catching 20+lb fish when a lot of content creators were talking about early schoolies in April. A lot of big fish this time of year travel way up rivers for the warmer water to digest better. They sometimes are in 3-4ft of water and you can catch them with a good enough presentation. If you have a river dam around you near the ocean, you better be fishing it!
holdovers can develop a niche and really whack bait over a stretch of a couple weeks and fatten up. mummichogs, worms, crustceans, any shellfish that might get churned up from under the mud after a storm. if the fish are coming all the way from southern waters up to maine they're probably going to have some lice on them. i have had some very chunky fish without lice this year, and the one fish over 40# was covered in lice, got that on mothers day north of boston. maine is rounding into a very solid striper nursery. you guys have so few dams, such a wide array of marshland, flats, and the water quality stays better than MA NY and jersey for sure.
Subscribed also good buddy... normally we Subscribe to more local channels. Alas at times it's sweet to see how fishing is in other states. Which brings to mind. If you don't mind... what state is 207? Again we enjoyed the video to be sure! Ken & Lea
Most of the time I use 4000 size reels. I have a Stradic 5000 used for larger plugs. My go to reels are Okuma Espirits. Awesome and durable for the money. For live lining or chunking I use Shamano bait runners 4000 or 6000 when using pogies.

Awesome video mate!!! What kind of rod and reel combo are you using? That plug looks deadly too!

The state of Maine only has one area code. That’s 207.
@@the207striper2 Ok got you... must be one tiny state. Hear there is some good fishing there, much like California.
Is your Kayak the Old Town Sportsman 12'? Have you ever tried the Old Town Salty? Wondering if significantly different?
I have both the 12 and the 10.5. Love them both. Heard good things about the Salty but have never tried it.
What size reel do you use and what size line? Thanks.
