    My weakness is that i always have the idea when there are things that needs improvement in the company but i am shy or more often scared to share it with the group of people. Because i'm afraid they will not listen. But there was this time when i have read an article that says "failure is not about when you get rejected, failure is when you have the chance but you never tried.." then i realized that i should give it a try to share my ideas. Who knows it might work and help the company in the future.

    Being an introvert is not something that is “fixable”. It IS a personality trait and it’s actually very powerful. Introverts are not shy. That’s a misconception. They simply choose very wisely when to speak and when not to. Big difference

    • @y01_
      @y01_ 3 роки тому +140

      I don't think he directed the term 'fixable' towards those who are introverts. Rather, I think what he is trying to say that in terms of their social skills, that is what can be deemed as fixable. Maybe fixable was too straightforward and made the context seem as if being an introvert is similar to being broken, which is definitely not the case.I think what he meant was that the introverts' social skills can be improved on through time and with some help. They can gain a bit more confidence with talking, sharing ideas, being comfortable with their workmates etc.

He asked me what are your weaknesses and why should I even hire you with no experience in this field. My response was that even though I had no experience I was a quick learner and could take coaching, what I will not bring with me is 20 years of bad habits. I can learn to do things the way you want them. Without hesitation he offered me the position.

I realized the issue, so I attended a course called “effective manager” from Novaliches. Where it tells me about time management and work delegation. and I now make it my skill that I always spend 30 seconds to decide if the work I should do or delegate it to my staff and the result is that I can spend time for setting goals and planning to do it

    I attended an interview training in which the person told me that when you are asked "What's your weakness? " you have to say something that is actually useful for the job that you are being interviewed for. She also gave some examples. Like, "I'm very talkative". I was asked this question in the interview for my first job and I gave that readymade answer although I was not at all talkative. Then the interviewer asked "How's that a weakness". I was not prepared for that question but somehow I managed by saying "Sometimes if u talk too much people might get annoyed". Anyway, I got hired although I quit that job in less than 2 years.

The ways I am improving on this is relaxing my mind & thoughts and then analyze what I am trying to accomplish or achieve in goals I set for myself. Another weakness is Public Speaking , I am a shy person and ways I am working on my shyness is to share more of myself to be more open but not tell my life story but to let people know some of life experiences Also reading books out loud and singing the words in songs out so I can project my voice.

    Glad you brought this up! The sticky questions you often get in interviews can make or break a slam dunk! Weakness is often looked at a being to sensitive and as an easy pushover which is not necessarily the case. Weaknesses are things people should work on or with it takes them out of there comfort zone and makes them better individuals. We all forget that a employer wants a human being not a robot that's why you got the interview. However keep it work related because my personal weakness is different levels of poor no matter how much money I make I'm just a different level of poor which makes me a very good buyer or salesman.

But as I worked for a year in a company, i realized, change can't happen all of a sudden. It is a process which take time, effort and commitment. I am working on it, and since HTC my mindset has been a lot stronger and steady than ever before, no more yo-yo days like before. I believe with more time I will get even better. I do this by surrounding myself with successful people, talking about their challenges and also by meditating.
    Thank you for this video.

    The introverted part was accurate, I also am a bit slow on the learning. I need to be told like 3 times to get it settled into my brain, and I need to write/types notes alot. I also get anxious easily so I tend to ask alot of questions. I try not to over panic and overload the person I'm talking to. I prioritize asking questions that seem reasonable instead of my irrational anxiety talking to them. I get therapy to help with that, and I try to see what I have control over and not. Throughout my customer service years, I've learned to come out more and settle situations on my own. Its still hard when I'm confronted with a difficult customer, but if I know its out of my control or not in my place, I contact the manager right away.

    I tend to be “overconfident” and sometimes that rubs people the wrong way. It’s a tough situation for me because I feel it’s a fine line to walk. I’ve been working on it for years honestly and feel like I’ve made some headway but I definitely still have some work to do...

    Dan, one of my weakness is sometimes I am not confident I can take the best decision. Sometimes I was not sure which decision to take regarding to my subordinates. Most of cases I managed that by asking for an advice from a most experienced person and trying to apply to my situation but I woud like to be more confident in me to take the proper decisions without any help.

    My weakness is that because I am new to the field of project management that I need to further develop my technical skills. I have been taking classes at the University of St. Thomas for PM and working on my skills in areas like building a scope statement and a Work Breakdown Structures. While at the same time, I recently completed my Professional Scrum Master certification. I am building my know-how and enrolled in online training programs for Jira and MS Project though classes that professionals in the field have recommended. To become better at the soft skills of PM, I am reading Influence Without Authority by Cohen and Bradford and The Synergist by Les McKeown. Of course am always open to any coaching that can help with my technical skills

    My greatest weakness since my childhood is I was a little introvert, I was afraid to talk to people or speaking on stage but since last three years I am working hard to overcome my weakness. In order to do so I joined some college clubs and whenever I got the chance to be ask some question from the person on stage I just force myself and I ask, that have given me a lot of confidence. Also, I gave some seminars also on stage during college to overcome my stage fear + in order to be more with people, currently I am reading a book, How to win friends and influence people, and the techniques mentioned in it really helps me a lot. Even, I am planning to join Toast Masters International, to overcome my stage fear.
