The singer is Perry Farrell, the creator of Lollapalooza. Jane is Jane Bainter, Perry's one-time housemate. Jane was a heroin addict, "I'm gonna kick tomorrow" means "I'll quit heroin tomorrow". She did manage to get clean in the end and indeed went to Spain.
The guys would constantly come home to find their TV missing because roommate Jane had gone and pawned it for drug money. It got to the point that anything that went wrong in the house was said to be caused by “Janes Addiction”.

I first heard this song way back in high school. I actually bought a CD copy at a college bookstore. My class was touring local universities as part of a weeklong trip. I must’ve known or read about the band, because when I saw their album I grabbed it. The cover is not exactly PG rated. When I took it up to pay, the 2 girls behind the register looked at each other with smiles. They clearly already knew things about the group. Then listening to it on a portable player, I heard the steel drums but had no idea what instrument they were. After awhile I did learn.
Jane Says Im done with Sergio He treat me like a rag doll She hides the television says "I dont owe him nothin" but if he comes back again tell him ta wait right here for me Or, try again tomorrow I'm gonna kick tomorrow
If you thought those steel drums were badass (because they were), you should check out Jean Michel Jarre's "Calypso", performed in the concert from 1990 at La Defense in Paris. There's a whole orchestra of these drums. You can find a video clip on YT, but there's also the full concert recording. I actually recommend listening from 56:20, it's where those drums start playing as the main instruments ("Calypso" comes later, as a final piece of the concert). The energy is incredible. Also, you should watch music video clip to "Jane Says", which was taken at Lollapalooza.

When you’re strung out , everyone you come across just “‘wants something “ and she’s never been in love . She only knows they “ want her “. 😢
“I’m gonna kick tomorrow ….. “
Great song….the lyrics are tragic af and it’s still a bop.
Stop stop stop stop. You guys have never heard of Perry Farrell or Jane's addiction? I mean I will go along with it okay?
You realize this song is like 30 years old

She takes a swing but she can’t hit = trying to inject a shot of dope but not being able to hit a vein
From a 70’s guy . Jane was an addiction . J - is junk .
