you need to let it soak in at least 5 mins before wiping to get a consistent shade

I like varathane honey wood stain. Because it’s light enough as far as a wood stain that you don’t necessarily have to wipe it off when applying it.
I don’t know about the super gray stains. And if I was going to go with something gray, I would just use gray paint, but I would put a black primer on and the gray would be a secondary primer for white, because I would be using them as part of my distressing techniques.

Can a person apply verithane over the top of a stain?
Yes! Just make sure the stain and top coat are compatible.

your staining technique is so terrible. Don't go back and forth with your brush too many times only makes it look worse.
