INTRO to the HEAVIEST POSITION in BJJ (Does this work NOGI?!)

  • Anyone who has experienced a BMAC seminar on the S-Mount understands how heavy and destructive this position can be.
BMAC uses this position to drain the life out of his opponents and to convince them that getting armbarred would be a much more pleasant way to escape the discomfort rather than having your diaphragm CRUSHED.
The beauty of this S-Mount is how uncomfortable it is for the bottom person & how persuasive it can be to make the opponent make poor choices, making our job of submitting MUCH easier.

The Lao Tzu quote was spot on, I'm kind of a fan:
"... Do you have the patience to wait
till your mud settles and the water is clear?
    Can you remain unmoving
till the right action arises by itself?
    The Master doesn't seek fulfillment.
    Not seeking, not expecting,
he is present, and can welcome all things."
15, Book of the way by Lao Tzu (Tao Te Ching)

Haha the beginner dude fighting the coach while he's trying to demonstrate something is always so funny. I think we all did that once or twice.

Man I am hitting this consistently after six months of working on it. Today was the first day I got the kimura because I couldn’t break his arm bar defence. Typically with the pressure they just let the arm bar happen. This is great content man - appreciate it greatly as always! Fantastic instruction.

This video is so good that I don't want to share it with my training partner 😅 !! By the way, the pressure point is on the solar plexus, in medicine we call it the epigastrium, the pressure there prevents the diaphragm from moving down ....not allowed to move buddy!!

Kesa Getame can be HEAVY AF if you grab your inner thigh and sit ur weight back in their diaphragm. Most people (white belts) tap from pressure well before I can get any sub from that position.

Great video, thanks I'll try it. Question though Brian, at 2:10 when you're posturing up and leaning back like that do they ever get a leg up around your head or in your arm pit and snatch you down off of mount in the southward direction? Do you ever get put into inverted triangles leaning back like that?
