Smeedia Fortunately not, I’m in Jacksonville Fl. It’s not too bad here yet. I was the only person all of Thursday to visit the Subaru dealership. Ended up getting a really good deal on my WRX because of the situation.
You should have a clear tube attached to the end of the bleeder valve. Because as soon as you try to close it, you've already trapped more air into the system. The clear tube will not only let you see if there's no more air bubbles but prevent air from going back in!
Thank you for this. We bought a used WRX and the clutch has almost two points that it catches, so we figured bleeding should help. This is the best Subaru clutch bleed video that I found. Thank you!
Definitely a good mod and good video as well. But if you want a dramatic difference in pedal feel you need to change the slave cylinder to the smaller Subaru 30620AA111 Slave Cylinder. Can't wait to change both on mine.
@@Smeedia No problem. I also just saw you are gonna boost the BRZ, if you get a stronger clutch it may not be needed or advisable to change the slave cylinder to the smaller one. Definitely research if you're going that route. Finally, if you haven't done them yet the clutch assist spring removal and clutch pedal travel adjustment are two free mods that transform the way the car feels. good luck
Ive already ordered the turbo kit, should hopefully get it in two weeks and just got the stage 3 competition clutch in the car with lightweight flywherl about 2 weeks ago. Have the MTEC springs i put in, need to dwap the pedal spring as well but have it in the garage ready to go
If the car is still new with low miles and this is done, I doubt anyone would actually feel any difference, but then again perspective is everything, even if it's a placebo effect.
Tanner, I know this video is old but came here to check out how to properly flush my brake and clutch fluid. Just a question. I see you were going to use a power bleeder in this video but couldn’t. I just read in the forums to not use the power bleeder on the clutch. Do you agree with that?
@@Smeedia Could you please share any advice for replacing all the brake/clutch fluid like is recommended with the (15+) WRX 30k standard service? Would it be a similar procedure to this or maybe each brake caliper needs to be bled also? Capacity of brake fluid needed for total replacement? Sorry if you’ve already answered these, I simply trust you more than anyone else in this community, and I’m not alone in that sense 🥰
Tanner i swapped out my clutch like on my 15 STi to the Perrin line and I’ve been bleeding this thing for hours and I’m still barely getting any feel on the pedal. There’s about 3 inches of just squishy play then it’s the clutch engagement point. Feels super off . Any suggestions?
Hey smeedia, with your sti did you use the power bleeder to do the bleeding for the clutch. If so did you need the extra person to help with the pedal or does the bleeder just do it.
Hey man. Just curious, any justification to spend the extra $50 on Cusco vs Perrin? Looking to pick one up and I can do the brace/pitch stop from Perrin over Cusco for the all in all. If the Cusco one is worth it I’ll gladly snag it.
@@Smeedia clutch ended up working fine. I retracted the pedal and there is still pressure in the line. I didnt end up bleeding the line. I was doing a Edelbrock supercharger install
Hey Smeedia as always excellent video since I will be doing the same thing soon. I have a few more questions for you my guy and want to ask if it would be ok to email you a list of what I have so far and get some feedback from you. If that's cool just let me know.

The Coronavirus has brought me two things. A 2018 WRX Limited and the ability to binge your videos!
Are you in one of the lockdown areas?! 👀

Gotta get my lines stainless! All around! Thanks for the how to my man! Keep it coming! You’re crazy for your output. Do you sleep even?!!
Get a few hours of sleep a night 😂 the lines are well worth it and super cheap! 🔥
I notice my 18 STI clutch feel isn’t very stiff, like push clutch pedal but the resistance is very weak
@@UpComingTechNow A SS Clutch line will help to give it a little more resistance if that's the feel your going for
Smeedia yeah I’m gonna do that. Thanks bro!
Smeedia bro, I watched most of your videos, my car is complete stock 20k I should have air oil separator and catch something I forgot, oil pick up?
Thanks for the detailed vid on bleeding the clutch. It's way easier than I thought if would be.
Not too bad at all 😁
Man, you got a lot accomplished today! Great video once again!
Always busy over here 😅 thank you 😁
8:22 gets wilddddddd😂 this is one of many reasons why ur my favorite channel.
I can't help myself 🤣🤣🤣
That’s what she said
I pinched the clutch line on my eclipse gst this vid helped thanks
I got the Perrin one as a very pleasant windfall since I needed the firewall brace anyway.
Definitely improved the feel.
Makes a noticable difference 😁
Cool upload smeedia.... always on point with the 🔥 content.👍🏼👍🏼💯💯 This is just another thing to put on my to do list bro. Thank you.

Hey brother, I know this comment is crazy old, but will this slave cylinder work on a 18 WRX?
Literally replaced my clutch line an hour before this video dropped 😂😂💪🏻💪🏻
Lol well worth it mod 😅 not too difficult to knock out 🔥
@@Smeedia Absolutely, needed flushed with fresh fluid anyhow!🔥

How to replace the clutch line on a 1991 gmc 5 spee
At the bench you kept referring to it as a brake line.
I know 🤣 after watching it I was like, damit 🤣
Brake fluid doesn’t eat thru everything or else it wouldn’t be in rubber lines and in a plastic reservoir.
My clutch has been feeling super spongy. My car has 30k on it, I’m wondering if it’s time to do this.
Might not be a bad idea to replace the fluid as well

It’s always great to pump it till it’s hard then squirt... when bleeding the clutch ofc 🤭😂
I mean someone's gotta do it 😂
Noticed the BRZ engine had a Toyota. Why is that? Another quick, easy install
Just because it's the joint venture between Subaru and toyota 😁
Hey man awesome video!
Was wondering if you new which one of the lines you stated would work for a 2019 Impreza?
I would check RSD or similar sites, length of line will be a factor but should be the same install 🙏😁
Does anyone know how to pop the clip to get the guts and the hard line out of the clutch line
95 Chevy pickup clutch pressure line . how to remove
The link you have for the sti is that a line that works for a 2016 wrx sti limited?
Yes, it will be the same 🙏
Hey smeedia, with your sti did you use the power bleeder to do the bleeding for the clutch. If so did you need the extra person to help with the pedal or does the bleeder just do it.
Yessir I used the power bleeder 🙏 but you can definitely do it with a second person 🔥

Cusco works great, they're all fairly close to being the exact same
What happens when the clutch stays fully depressed and no air is coming out of the bleeder valve? i am in this current situation
Only fluid coming out? First thoughts are bad slave cylinder or bad master 👀 is the slave moving?

Ohhhhh jelly of that SC!!!
@@Smeedia thanks! Im praying no issues/codes at the end of this. First time installing anything major…
You got it 🔥 lemme know how it goes! Kinda wanna try fitting the edelebrock onto my 2022
Trying to bleed the clutch on my 13 wrx not sure how to go about it since it's my first time
Grab a buddy to help, ideally have one person depres the clutch a few times then hold it down while you crack open the bleeder valve
@@Smeedia I understand that part but should I bleed from the clutch master cylinder with the reservoir or the one below where my intercooler is ?
Thr one below near the I/C
