- Thanks for checking out todays video, where we literally pour thousands of dollars into the abandoned racetrack by crack filling, and sealcoating a ton of the driving surface.
We worked with H&H Sealcoating, and they did a good job overall.

There's zero "big money" involved here. What we are doing is no different than you might be able to do in your community. Consider supporting the track here: black-river-motorsports.creator-spring.com/ It honestly does help us proceed at the racetrack.
@GreenLoghtFiliming I don't blame you for hiring out the seal coating. It's a massive project for yourself.
I've found for my own home it's cheaper in the long run to hire people to do certain projects. They have the education, training, experience, tools, and materials to do the job better than what you can.
Thank you for saving a racetrack, gonna need some boarding for sponsors.
I agree, in the future we will have to build something like that. Right now we have them hang banners on the fenceline, which works. At the end of the day we are going to have a full fence when everyone gets their banner up.
We all have to help this guy out and mention the channel to everyone tracks across the USA are dying Great job bud so glad you saved it much love and respect from New Zealand brother
Thanks buddy. If people share the videos it truly does help!
MAN, YOU GUYS HAVE COME ALONG WAY SINCE THE BEGINNING. GLAD I FOUND YOU ON DAY ONE AND SEEN THE SUCCESS. NKEEP THOSE EVENTS HAPPENING.
It's came very, very far. You forget when you don't look back at old photos and video, etc. It's like a new track now lol.
Scream much?
@@chancelorofdisdain8425 REALLY. THIS IS THE WAY THEY SETUP THIS COMPUTER SO I CAN SEE.
Glad to see consistency with the track upgrades. I’m moving to Duluth next week and can’t wait to come to some events
Sweet, welcome to the area! You came at the right time. There's never been an option like this locally since the early 70's.
I appreciate the wild serenity of the track. Which contrasts with the rumble and roar of horsepower. Thanks for posting your videos. I’ve enjoyed watching it transform and looking forward to what’s to come.
It truly does, well said. It's a little oasis in nature when we aren't racing etc. More to come
Hello from South Australia. Been following from the start. So glad to see the track again.
Greetings from the other end of the planet. Thanks for watching!
Thanx for the update ! - Cool to see you folks pluggin away at this
We are still hard at it. Big barrier update coming in the next video
New Aussie sub here. Looking forward to seeing this grow. You will be swamped by sponsors soon.
Ha, with any luck that might be the case
Came back to this video after watching the mulching one. Glad to see this get the views it deserves. You're doing great work.
Thank you sir. Appreciate the support 🤘
It's really cool to see you take on this passion project. I've enjoyed the track rebuilding videos and awesome to see a grass roots effort. It's cool to see it on the larger scale with Cleetus, but even sweeter on the "everyman" level.
Looking great Mr Greenlight!! Track is literally a Black River racetrack lol! Track is definitely better than ever 🤘💯🔥
Thanks Craig, appreciate you checking in as always!
@@Greenlightfilming Doing great on a Blue collar budget!🔥💯🤘🇺🇸
Watching this vid gave me the most redemptive and comforting feelings and emotions I've had for a very long time.
Me as a track hunter for decades, recent years with tons of heartbreaking discoveries of now deceased tracks. Seen from a distance as an European and with admiration of the land of motorsports, from which I was lucky enough to watch quite a few races in the 90s via TV broadcasts. Then the tracks leave my mind for a few years, just to make sad discoveries later. As an example, I "woke up" a few years ago and wanted to check out the next races at more well-known tracks like North Wilkesboro (before recent restauration work) and Texas World Speedway, in addition to various discoveries of smaller tracks like this one, only to find out that the precious pieces areleft to nature's forces.
I therefore cannot thank guys like you enough for the work you put in this project. It cannot be described how much it warms an old motorsports heart.
Warm greetings from Denmark
My sinuses are burning just watching him heat up the dolly 😄
Looking great man!
props to the guy filling in cracks with white shoes that are still white. 🤯
Ha, I thought the same thing. Amazing
"Ain't the size of things...." 😅 perfect way to end the video
I love seeing all the improvements being made to the property. Looks great!👍🏻
It's getting better and better! Just need more time and money.
Very glad to see some money invested into the track, if only I was a little closer or could at least afford a trailer. Speaking of being broke, your video and forum posts on F-body fitment really helped me in researching my next set of wheels and tires. Thank you.
Hey, glad it all helped out in the end. Forums are still somewhat active, but Facebook really put a dent in them with their groups/pages.
Reach out to Cleetus at the Freedom Factory? Maybe they could bring some publicity, sponsorship or something.
It sounds like a cool idea, but at the end of the day I'm nobody haha. It doesn't work like that unfortunately
@@Greenlightfilming the love of cars is a common thread. I'm watching from NZ!
You have a bright future ahead of you, congratulations I’d like to personally congratulate you see this change with nothing much to something bigger than anyone else’s would have expected. Keep up the great work. Never give up, never give in.
Thanks, buddy! Appreciate the kind words. It's a big undertaking, but we've shown that we can do it.
I didn´t know this sealing treatment existed. Awesome result. The men appeared to be really precise with it. I love this upkeep-content even more then the events, to be honest. So satisfying.
I think most folks would agree with you and the numbers reflect that on viewership. I agree, this is fun to watch 👍
I enjoy watching skilled laborers in their groove. Very satisfying results. As much as I'd like to see the corner of that driveway replaced, it seems kinda silly to only do that corner bit, when you don't even have a wholly paved driveway yet
Awesome video as usual! I love how you filmed them working to show us how it works. Keep these awesome videos coming!
Thanks for watching, dude. It's always interesting watching professionals do what they do. I've always enjoyed it too.
Just a thought, a group,of guys (10) bought a golf course. We knew the running and upkeep was going to be a constant. We decided, we would close the course every Tuesday till 1:00 pm. We started about 7:00 am. All work that needed to be done was all voluntary and those individuals who volunteered would get free golf. Those who, for some reason could not work on the course were assigned other things that they could do. Every week, we get about 40 to 50 and everything gets done. As owners, this cut the cost of upkeep big time. Think what you are and have done is just great!
This is so awesome! Glad to see this place being saved. Definitely gonna try and make the 15 hour drive to check the place out for and autocross event.
Thanks dude, appreciate it! It's been quite the undertaking, that's for sure haha. That would be a haul, but it'd be cool to have you out 👍
I smell another SlapShoes 'Slap on location" vid coming, on this place. Outstanding effort, lad!!
Dang, that looks like a million bucks!
Yes sir!
Looks Great... can't wait to See the Next Event. Keep up the Great work and thanks for Posting :)
Thanks for watching! Appreciate your support
Keepe em coming! Been a fine for a long while now. Found your videos a whole back and absolutely love the work! It's been stellar. REALLY hoping you get to drain that dirt track and get that going and THEN get the back acreage open for eve MORe fun!!! Bad ass stuff per usual;!
We are likely going to see what's at the bottom of the pond this summer and see what it takes to make it runnable again.
Hell yea brother, we gotta keep the sport alive!
Great stuff! Looking really good. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for watching dude! Appreciate it. 👍
Very cool! So awesome that you are saving this track and I hope your local community supports you. I live in the Phoenix AZ area and all we have left is the NASCAR track, the drag strips are gone and the small tracks are gone.
Thanks, Steve. This isn't the biggest, or baddest racetrack in the State, but it's the only one within about a 3hr radius you can drive Street cars on.
It would be great to see some carting races back there in the future!
In time. Insurance is complex.
Great to watch professionals at work. And they have already been bothered by the camera, won't be bothered my me 😀
Hat tip from Europe. Locals are blessed to be in the position to attend all the events.
Thanks for checking in. The guys that did all the work did a good job overall. They will be back out to do more sometime.
Looks great. All your hard work has paid off big time!
We will have a cool little track with some more time and money. Thanks for watching! 👍
That's awesome folks wish you the best! May God bless your endeavors
Thanks Hal, appreciate the good wishes
Thanks for the vid, and thanks for saving this track.
Thanks for watching 👍
Great work. Still keep in mid a dirt track out back.
Thanks for your work, have a lot of fun rally x ing!!
Very awesome! I can't wait to see where this goes!
We are going places 👍👍👍
Really is looking amazing with all your hard work. Hats off to you 👏
Thanks dude! Appreciate the support 🤘🤘
This is so cool to see, well done for investing in your community. I have subbed and cannot wait to see further updates.
More updates to come 👍👍 thanks dude!
What a difference that makes love this series
Absolutely. It's a total face-lift, and it will honestly give the track more life overall.
I would have done the whole thing if I could afford it.
@@Greenlightfilming don’t feel you have to justify yourself. Projects would be boring if they were all completed in a day. Thank you for taking the time to entertain us all whilst your at it
Awesome stuff, that was fun to watch! Looks bloody fantastic.
I'm glad it was enjoyable. I was probably annoying after a while on site, but it was all satisfying to watch lol
@@Greenlightfilming It was for sure! Maybe but I doubt it, they explained it well enough & the process was great to watch 100%
Great work for the track way to save another one
This looks so good. Slow and steady progress is the best progress.
I agree. It's the safe way to go 🤘
Love the comparison joke at the end. Busted out laughing!
🤣 glad you enjoyed it
What a fantastic piece of infrastructure.. from a family who love’s grassroots Motorsport I sure love seeing this track get saved.
It'll keep getting better. Just need more time, and money ha
Bit by bit, you will get the track looking great with that dedication 👍🏻
Yes sir!
Repaving and adding pavement to new areas can easily reach $500k-$1M with no real improvements on earning income from a track. It comes with huge sponsors and huge money only. I hope ppl understand that. Ty for keeping a track alive it definitely isn't easy or for the sane.
Absolutely agree with you. You would be surprised at how many folks think you'll just be printing money if I rebuilt the drag strip for example.
It all seems cheap, easy, and lucrative until you are the one paying for it lol.
Hell ya man. Props to the drive to do this
Thanks for watching dude 👍
Gotta get Cleetus to come collaborate and really boost the backing to help you fund this!! I wish there was a track near me here in NW Washington state!!!
I was excited for that bucket of cash to be poured into the track.
I'll do it eventually
This was insanely satisfying to watch!
🤘🤘🤘
Looks way better. Great work
Big face-lift for sure. Wish I could afford to do the whole track.
Seal coat looks good 😎👍
Turned out great. Wish I could afford to do the whole thing.
I love the dad standing by asking questions hands on hips poses 😂
“Whatcha using there? Crescent wrench? Good choice.”
Sick! Love to see it, nice spot to drop my camera bag there now in the spectator area haha.
It's more sanitary now, yes lol. Thanks for coming and snapping some photos. Appreciate it dude! Nice to meet you too.
That’s a butt load of work. Hats off to those guys
Lots of work. No doubt!
Good progress and great effort!
Thanks George, appreciate it!
good job dude, track is looking great
Thanks dude. Appreciate you checking in 👍
Little by little man, it keeps getting better!
The tortoise wins the race
Respect for saving a race track I live down in South Florida and we’ve lost four so far since I started racing back in 95.
It's the natural way of things. This isn't the biggest, baddest place out there but it's what we've got, and our only shot.
Looks amazing 👏
Thank you! 👍👍
Fascinating process, especially that they’re both in white shoes… at the beginning.. 😂
Ha. No kidding
Track is looking great!
Thanks dude!
im hyped for what has to come
Me too dude. Hope things stay to course and keep getting better.
Dang it's looking good
"...how far it's COME" LOL
?
Hell yeah brother another Aussie I’m in
video suggestions are annoying, but I have one for you-
Get someone to come out from a big road construction company (potentially pay a consulting fee), and go over the challenges of paving banked corners etc, and give a quote on a full re-pave.
I suggest this because I (and probably many others) want to know (I'm guessing 1 million or so), but also numbers in video titles do exceptionally well!! (especially ones with dollar signs)
That's actually a great idea for a video. There's been sooooo many times we've speculated at what it would cost to replace the entire thing. It's probably astronomical nowadays.
Damn dude almost 50k! Congrats!!
Think we got to this number about a year ago or so. Then I uploaded one video with controversial content and it all stopped dead in its tracks.
Another great video and update thanks for sharing but when with other people like go kart clubs etc except for drifters and auto cross is going to get to use the facility looking for your reply
Its a very long, complicated answer. It comes down to insurance. I'm hoping into this Fall/next year I can really open the gates to a ton of activities.
What a beautiful place
This place has so much potential.
Agreed!
Strangely relaxing to watch that
Thanks for watching 🤘🤘
Wow what a difference
That would be a cool idea some type of logo may be some sponsors to
I agree to that actually. A giant mural isn't a bad idea for a sponsor lol
Sounds like you watch Taylor Ray talk about his jibber jabbering haha. The concrete looks great! Cant wait to see it in person!
Ha, was wondering when someone would call out the jibber jabber.
Big Taylor ray fan
@@Greenlightfilming I've only recently started watching his stuff and have really been enjoying it. Love the fab work and all the at home garage miscellaneous projects
Tar snakes: enemy of all motorcycles!!
Seems like a perfect track for go-carts.
Ironic comment
Looks great! Is it an option for you to have music festivals or the such at the track? Looks like it could be setup into a good little area for something like that as some extra potential?
I have been wondering if I could cover shows there with my rigs. I'd love to help. The distance is a challenge. I'm way down south in Milwaukee.
looking really good
Thanks Tom
that would make for a sick drift track
Lookng great Brother!!!
Thanks buddy! Appreciate the feedback.
Love the intro outro music.
Nice man .
Nice work
Thank you 👍
Looking good
Thanks buddy 👍👍
Hi, just found your channel! Great video, I definitely will watch other videos, and I of course subscribed to your channel 👍
And thanks for preserving another small racetrack, sadly too many of them had to be closed or even had to be destroyed for another „Resort“ or anything like that.
BUT: I do have a question, I really liked the music in the intro, so could you tell me please the name of the song and the artist?
Thanks in advance and kind regards from Germany 🇩🇪, Philipp 👋
EDIT: I just found it, you were kind enough to write down the title and the artist in the description, I really appreciate that 👍🙏 Great song btw 👏 Reminds me of my youth (born in 1978 ✌️)
Hey, glad you found it in the description! Appreciate the good tidings from afar too. It's always cool when folks chime in from across the planet that are supportive of this
It's only a thought, but reach out to the local Radio controlled modelers in your area, I know they are always looking for places to run their models, and I am sure that they would pay a small fee for the use of the track and facilities you have, you may even concider a "off road" track for them too, it'll just help with the upkeep and improvements to what you have already. keeping history alive is great for everyone young and old
i was going to say that used to race quarterscale nascars rc this would be a nice track for this you would just have to build a drivers stand and get Ahold of QSAC and see if you coud do a few races to try it , would be cool to do a dirt oval track for these too. if you did that you would be the first dirt track to do so ,it would catch on dirt oval is really popular now .track and stuff is really looking good keep up the hard work and keep posting videos
it would be cool to see oval racing their somday, some stands in the corners and on the back strech. i bet mods would fly!!!!!! around that
You should consider investing in a heat lance. That's how you prep cracks before laying down your filler compound, whatever it may be.
I'm not a paver, or sealcoater.
9:24 would have nice to hit those cracks with the weed burner to get a good bond with the crack sealer.
19:37 asphalt is cheap, the finishing work is expensive. All the heavy equipment costs money to operate.
Just a suggestion, if you could afford to pave a diagonal strip through the infield you could get a pretty badass drift track
I agree completely. Paving is very expensive. When money allows I'll end up doing something like that
I'm 62 the county always chip n sealed the three paved roads lol pour shit tons nasty oil 🛢️ then put gravel into it run roller over it then sweep up excess to further job along free undercoating lol
this great hard work for the race track will payoff at sometime
Agreed. That's the goal.
I enjoy the information about the track and its interesting but I became a sub because of all of your work on the cars you were doing. It would be great to see a little bit of that content again. Great video though!
Life changes fast. With moving, kids, work, and the track there's not nearly as much time (or money) go play with cars like I did a few years ago.
I still do, and always will. It's just harder now.
@@Greenlightfilming I totally get it, I truly do! I’ll always be a sub because of how passionate you are about your projects. It shows in the quality of your work!
I was wondering if you could pin a pic showing a birdseye view of the propery with markings of where sruff was before cleaning, moving, building, etc?
Use Photoshop to show where sruff was moved to/from, where junk was removed, that kind of thing.
looks like it could be a great kart track.
You think?
intro had me thinking im on a landon huffman vid
Dude, I just watched one of his videos for the first time last night. The one where the lady full throttled him after she spun out.
