Dungeons & Dragons, Jem, Thundercats, MASK, Marshall Bravestar, Inspector Gadget, Gummy Bears, Jayce & the Wheeled Warriors, Captain Planet, Defenders of the Earth....DEFENDERS! So many missed classics!!!
Captain Planet is not 90s?
No Heathcliff or lnspector Gadget.
I watched an episode of captain planet the other day. First time in probably 20 years. I didn't realize just how terrible it was until now.
@@DJCLeandro It's on the 90s cartoon countdown. I associate that show more with the 90s anyway.
True.
The 80's was the golden age of cartoons
More like the golden age of… EVERYTHING!!! 🤩
No the 2000s was the golden age of Cartoons
I'm surprised Alvin and the Chipmunks didn't make this list. That was the cartoon that started the 80s animation culture.
Actually Alvin and the Chipmunks dates back to the 1960's (it was called The Alvin Show then). But there was a lot more cartoons that pre-dated it. The legendary Danger Mouse comes to mind.
Yes, love The Chipmunks.
When I checked it was in the 50’s
Thundercats wasn't mentioned, where was Robotech ... and Transformers wasn't number 1 - Sacrilege this is!
OMG, I forgot Voltron ... how could that not be in the top 10 also!
Sami Lynn Voltron wow that brings me back
Sami Lynn Omg I for got Voltron too how could they. So sad
Sami Lynn agree was waiting for robotech and thundercats! not even an honorable mentions!
Sami Lynn Robotech was a bastardization of a much better Japanese show. Thats why its not on this list.
Go actually watch the original SDF Macross.
Duck Tales had one of the best themes ever.
Better than TMNT???
Yes lord.
Them and tmnt
@@daryalbrooks3366 the g1 transformers was memorable to me
And it's better than the real song.
transformers should be number one and thundercats should have been included and Ewoks excluded.
I picked the Muppet babies 👶 😍 😌 ☺ 💕 🤧 👶 😍 😌 ☺ 💕 🤧 because they are so sweet and kindhearted and helpful and caring and fun loving and everything ❤ 💕 ♥ 💖 💜 💗 ❤ 💕 ♥ 💖 💜 💗
Inspector Gadget should of been on the list.
Arguably #1.
@@GeraldM_inNC or at least #2 or #3.
👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼♥️♥️♥️
Love DUCKTALES! BUT NO THUNDERCATS? WTF!!
+Liberpool They really dropped the ball on this list. Nothing was mentioned of MASK, Inspector Gadget, Alvin and the Chipmunks, Centurions, Voltron, and Superfriends.
+Liberpool I KNOW RIGHT WHERE ARE THEY?
+Liberpool Dont forget about Silverhawks and Dino-Riders
+Liberpool Also no Voltron?
oh yeah!!! wtf! I loved thunder, Thunder, THUNDER CATS HOOOOOOO!!! how could they miss that show? and silver hawks to a much lesser extent....
Where's the Thundercats? Inspector Gadget?
Duck Tales and TNMT should have been nos. 1 and 2.
Correction, Transformers should of been 1# followed by your selections and My Little Pony where Crap Bears are....
Ducktales should have beat out Muppet Babies.
Transformers number 1
*****
Same
its number 1
it should be
No Inspector Gadget?
An 80's cartoon list of the best series without Inspector Gadget how could they not put it on the top 5 is beyond me.
No Thundercats? No VOLTRON???
I know I'm pissed f Care Bears, and weeks come on that's a spin off it doesn't deserve to be there.
Right!?
Me at seeing Transformers is #2: Really? Thundercats is #1? I mean, it was good, but Transformers was better, and what about Voltron, maybe it's #1? How could either one of them be left off the list!?
Me at seeing Muppet Babies at #1: WHAT THE FUCK!?!? Neither of them are on the list!? Bullshit!
It's bad enough there's no room for Inspector Gadget, but Muppet Babies, nor Care Bears should be on the list. I would have tolerated Strawberry Shortcake, even though I hated it, it seemed like it was EVERYWHERE along with Jem and the Holograms. But that still leaves out Dungeons & Dragons, and Inhumanoids. And of course if you were a kid in the 80s you didn't know the difference between cartoons and anime and Dragon Ball and Gundam definitely one of the best as well!
I expected to see Voltron #1 after Transformers got #2. I didn’t even know the Muppet Babies was a show until now.
EXACTLY!!!
Voltron, Thundercats, where are they???
....and muppet babies at #1? really?????? wtf watchmojo
.com and why arent u guys having any honorable mentions anymore....ur missing alot of things here
@@Guilherme36594 you stfu
GIMMIE DA PINGU
Garfeild and Friends
I love that cartoon
I wasn't around in the 80s, but for me, there's something weirdly nostalgic about it. As a 90s/2000s kid, the 80s were close enough to be familiar, but far enough in time to be wonderfully weird.
I was born in 88 I think 90s/2000s kids can relate to these 80s cartoons because they were in rerun syndication during that time so were familiar with the properties from that era
Are you f*cking serious I was born 95 and I remember 80s cartoons like Garfield and Friends, Robo Cop the animated series and Dennis the Menace because they still came on during the early 2000s
No Thundercats?!
Thundercats should have easily made the top 5 if He-man did.
I know right muppets don't deserve #1 the top 5 should have been transformers, thunder cats,he-man,tmnt,gi Jo ,voltron
Right how the fuck you leave out the Thundercats smh
Why the Care Bears !!! Are you kidding!!
Dom Walter yes he was
I mean she
Yes, the Real Ghostbusters was a brilliant show!!! Absolutely loved it!!
Where's my jem and the holograms?
yeah
It seems some fans have FINALLY "got out of the woodwork" (what an OUTRAGEOUS accomplishment!). Normally you'd seen that WM would get ~ 6-8 of the 10 for most tastes, but in this case for this 3 1/2 y/o list (at the time I've typed this) I'd bet they didn't get even 3 of them right in the minds of most fans, including this one that watched those cartoons when they were new...
At least JatH got a HONORABLE MENTION in WM's cartoon theme song list and I'd dare to say JatH deserved at least a bottom 3 post (8-10th) on this list (before some get into their "cheesiness", most cartoons from the era were at least as cheesy, judging by WM's comments on both He-Man and She-Ra).
yeah
Hetanekoloid15 thats what I was about to say
Yaaassss!!!!! that was my show as a kid.
10. Disney's Adventures of the Gummi Bears
9. Seabert (I don't expect many people to remember this because it was originally from France before being translated to English and airing on HBO.)
8. Jim Henson's Muppet Babies
7. Snorks
6. A Pup Named Scooby-Doo
5. DuckTales
4. The Real Ghostbusters
3. G.I. Joe
2. Thundercats
1. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
80s and 90s best eras for cartoons ever
30s-90s
+TheGoldenAge2 if u think todays cartoons are good id advise u to seek medical help now
yes they are actually
oh really care to explain to me how "good" the characters are in cartoons these days cartoons these days have the stupidest and most unimaginative characters not to mention the storylines in today's cartoons make little to no sense the villains arnt really threatening mainly do to parents whining hell you can't even have love be in a cartoon these days because it would be wrong for kids to learn about love (especially true in anime aimed at kids pokemon is good example of that as well as Sonic X)
So you're gonna pretend like shows like Tom & Jerry, the Flintstones and Looney Tunes don't exist? If you think only the 90s had good cartoons then you know very little about cartoons and their history. The best cartoons came out long before the 1990s and that is fact! The 1990's could considered a second golden era, but certainly not the best.
tranfomers should be number 1
They kind of want to forget about the Michael Bay version.
i hate bay version
autobots troops yep
tranfomers is best show i know
I know right best music plots characters ect
I also believe that Transformers should be no.1! If there was one 80s cartoon that was revitalized, it would be this one not Muppet Babies!
flip1sba
i agree
Agree
Yess
I agree
Ducktales was a great cartoon and had one of the best cartoon theme songs of the 80's.
The 80s were so good you cant just have a bottom line top 10 list!! Shouldve had a part 1 and beyond. Thats how good that time was. But much love for MoJo!!
100% agree, so many good cartoons that it is unfair to limit to top 10.
Yes! We need Another Top 10 Cartoons of the 80s!
Ducktales should've been #1.
+coolhorselover234 and the smurfs should have been much higher... It is much better than He-Man (
+Mario Garon he man is so cool it should have been # 1
+coolhorselover234 agree
tranformer should have been number 1
coolhorselover234 Thomas and Friends should be in the top #3
A Pup Named Scooby Doo
The Flintstone Kids.
No ThunderCats, this is a fail!
You're just saying that, ThunderFan!
Thundercat, thundercat , thundercat Ho!!!! I wanted to be cheetarah when I grew up...
No Silverhawks, thundercats, voltron, and the epic Jayce and the wheeled warriors?
No Jem and the Holograms, Thundar the Barbarian, or She-ra Princess of Power.
+LadyAmaltha I know, right? Jem is a lot better than Muppet Babies and Ewoks. It has great music and I love most of the characters.
Jem is excitement. Ooh Jem! Jem is adventure. Ooh, glamour and glitter, fashion and fame. Jem is truly outrageous. Truly, truly, truly outrageous. Whoa Jem! Jem is truly contagious outrageous. Jem is my name. No one is the same. Jem is my name.
He-man was always my favorite, but I agree with everyone that is shocked that Thundercats did not make the list. And I'm sorry, like them or not the Care Bears were much bigger than the Ewoks. Muppet Babies was a good show, but #1? I don't think so.
What about The Snorks? Didn't even make it.
wheres thundercats that easily beats the fucking carebears
Lmao..I know right
Thundercats, Silver Hawks, Brave Starr, Voltron, Galaxy Rangers. How the hell did any of those shows not get on this list?
wish I knew
Bryon Turner Yeah when I was a kid I was totally into thundercats, silver hawks and voltron. and TBH I have no idea how it failed to get on the list.
Bryon Turner
Watchmojo is playing favorites.
WTF? Why did they cut off care bears like that? That was my first favorite TV Show. I was a toddler when it was on. My older sister said that was my favorite show.
We do the Care Bears countdown. 5, 4, 3, 2, 1.
Yeah, why the hate towards Care Bears? Leave it off the list, if you're gonna play them like that!
@Jason Rickelton you’re doing nothing like everyone else. Pandemic is the excuse for everyone so don’t feel bad. Enjoy the nostalgia while you can.
Agree! I downvoted this video because they did that 😡 It was my number one cartoon when I was little. Singing, life lessons and colourful teddy bears, what’s not to love 💕
Even if we can't agree what cartoons should be on this list, can we all agree that the 80s were a great year for cartoons and anime?
Ewoks?... Really?... Whoever created this list must be a huge troll. I aint gonna fall for that.
Miguel Eduardo Sánchez dude, chill. It’s just a list. One person’s opinion. Besides, you have to admit that Ewoks are better than care bears.
Rosewolf29 no it’s not, this is supposed be a list from a collective opinion if it’s from mojo. I’m chill though, don’t @ me
One thing current a cartoons seem to lack are the badass theme songs. In the 80s and 90s they made some great music to get you in the mood for the show. Not so much these days.
Would make for good lists: top 10 cartoon theme songs of each century.
Cartoons from the 80's ....good times. I'm still looking them up.
My grandpa was born In 1938 and he’s still alive and is now over 80 years old and he got me into cartoons when I was still little
WTF at #1?? I was getting ready to see Chip N Dale Rescue Rangers get the top spot!
wanna say that was more 90s
90s.
Early 90s
Once i saw E-Woks on this list I knew this had to be a parody video. Cmon wheres the real top 10 list. Im waiting..................................................
Haha true.
Haha true.
As a kid, my favorite 80's cartoons were Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, My Little Pony, Duckula, and The Real Ghostbusters.
TRANSFORMERS... THEY WILL LIVE FOREVER IN OUR HEARTS.
I love how they don’t even talk about the LIFE LESSONS in he man they just say that it’s made to sell toys
Ducktales, Tmnt or Transformer should have been number 1! >:(
Ahead He-Man?
Ducktales definitely.
Seriously Muppet Babies #1? Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles should be #1!
My favorites from the 80s (even some continued in the 90s):
Pee-Wee's Playhouse
Hey Vern, It's Ernest!
Inspector Gadget
Dennis the Menace
The Flintstone Kids/Captain Caveman and Son
Muppet Babies
Garfield and Friends
Captain N: The Game Master
The Legend of Zelda
The Super Mario Bros. Super Show!
Beetlejuice
Alvin and the Chipmunks
The Smurfs
My Little Pony
Disney's Adventures of the Gummi Bears
The New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh
A Pup Named Scooby-Doo
The Bugs Bunny & Tweety Show
Chip 'n Dale Rescue Rangers
Duck Tales
He-Man and the Masters of the Universe
Tiger Sharks
Silver Hawks
Thunder Cats
Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends
Superman
G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero
The Transformers
The Real Ghostbusters
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
Legend of Zelda, seriously?
You forgot ROBOTECH
Pretty good list
Finally, someone gave "Spider-Man & His Amazing Friends" its due! Being raised on comics & superheroes, this toon ROCKED & paved the way for the Marvel Animated Universe from the '90s to today. And, it introduced the live action Stan Lee we knew & loved. I'll always miss him (unusual for a guy who doesn't get wrapped up in celeb culture, but he & Marvel got me through childhood). SPIDER FRIENDS GO FOR IT!...🙃
Ducktails should have been higher.
You know!
That was such a great show me and my brother would always watch it
And I think Alvin and the chipmunks and Garfield and friends should be on here me and my brother use to watch it all the time our fav 80s was Garfield and friends and Alvin and the chipmunks and duck tales but since Alvin and Garfield ain’t in here they should be at least a honorable mention if anything i feel like Alvin and the chipmunks should be at least #11 and Garfield and friends should be at least #13 if they ain’t on here
Muppet Babies? WHAT THE HELL??? All those good cartoons out there and you pick Muppet Babies as top?
I know right
DuckTales!
Transformers!
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles!
Muppet Babies is number one.
Yeah, for the number one spot, at least pick a show that is known outside America, how about "Inspector Gadget"?
i LOVED Inspector Gadget!!!
William Lightbourn it is ridiculous. How is that better than transformers??
How is muppet babies better than TMNT and voltron?
Muppet Babbies were awesome!!
Indeed, they were. Really hope that since Disney owns the Muppets, Muppet Babies with finally get a proper DVD release. The biggest hurdle is negotiating with the rights holders of the movies and television shows they used clips from. A few years back, DVD's were included with some Muppet Babies plush toys but the episodes that were on the discs were randomly picked from across the seasons. With the new Muppet Babies on Disney Jr. it only makes sense to release the original show. If the 1966 Batman tv show can get a release on DVD so can Muppet Babies.
how did M.A.S.K and Thundercats not make the list?
Or The Centurions.
omg I didn't think anyone else knew about M.A.S.K.!!!
M.A.S.K CURSADERSSS WOKRING OVERTIME excuse me if i don't know the song but im 14 and i like old shows
Mask does not deserve it doe. It’s a knockoff of the gi joe AND the transformers. It’s animation is subpar also.
@@keirengaming right... honestly I loved OG G.I. Joe but I preferred M.A.S.K. over it always wanted the toys but never got them
The fact that Alvin and the Chipmunks wasn't even mentioned on this list is a huge surprise since it was perhaps the most defining cartoon show of the 80s.
WTF where the hell is Inspector Gadget???
Aw nostalgia :)
transformers,he-man and G.I.JOE are my all time favs
What about Thundercats, M.A.S.K., and the centurians?
Oh yeah, definitely The Centurions.
Or Robotech!
Muppet Babies? WTF? There I was expecting Thunder Cats or something. Fuck off WatchMojo!
No love for Thundercats, Dungeons and Dragons or even Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors?
This list fuckin' sucks.
No Thundercats?!? Well SMURF YOU TOO!!!!!
JEM!?
What happened to Jem?
Tinymoezzy we didn't like Jem or Hannah Montana which is one in the same
Tra Whitehead I don't even know where to start in proving you wrong :p
Really a girl has a hidden life as a singer hmmm
I wouldn't say hidden life. Jerrica was a record label owner, and she was supporting an orphanage, and to financially support all that she was Jem and they had a rock band. Not only that, her transformation was epic! She had hologram projections, Hannah Montana had a blonde wig.
its scares me that you know that LOL. But the plot is still the same.
Wait, Ewoks over Teddy Ruxpin? no fucking way... and no thundercats at all? Whoever is responsible for this list clearly wasn't watching cartoons during the 80s.
Where the hell is voltron...thundercats???? Come on now
I can't watch this. The more I review cartoons from the 1980s...the more I realize all my love for them was pure nostalgia-goggles. :(
IMO, shows like Alvin & The Chipmunks, Chip 'N Dale, Winnie the Pooh, Thomas & Friends, Garfield, and Wallace & Gromit have aged REALLY well!
But yeah, He-Man, Rubik, shows like that are just either meh or memeworthy.
THE GOD DAMN MUPPET BABIES.!!! REALLY?
Thunder Cats? Muppet Babies??
WTF!!!
Muppet Babies was #1 on the list
How did they miss out on Rainbow Bright??!!!!!!
He-Man-: The lost diamond of disappearance, he must've found it! 😂😂😂😂
His sister should have been on here just like he was.
No Thundercats? This list is void. MUPPET BABIES AT #1??? PULLEEEZEEE!!
thank u. muppet babies was horrible
Weegee#teamheitir
Williamkurk what did you expect from an SJW bitch
@@JohannaMarie125 Not horrible just definitely not number one. Transformers should of been number 1
They make me want a time machine to see what the fuck is WatchMojo is talking about. Muppet babies was not as successful as ninja turtles not g I Joe nor transformers. TMNT forever
Where's She-ra, Inspector Gadget, Garfield and Friends, the Chipmunks, and Captain N??
They have He-Man, so why would they put on the list the less liked spin-off of it?
+Brian Foster AATC and David Seville are awesome!
I agree, Garfield and Friends was a real laugh riot then and now. Inspector Gadget likewise had some great laughs from and some action too. Plus unlike many cartoons of the past it holds up well even after all these years. Dare I say it but Inspector Gadget and The Real Ghostbusters are to this day both iconic cartoons from the 1980's and two of the most popular shows DIC ever produced.
Thundarr the Barbarian, although short-lived, was by far the best of the 80's.
Thundarr the Barbarian. Inspector Gadget, Jem, Dungeons and Dragons
And Mysterious Cities of Gold, Spartacus
Thundarr and Dungeons & Dragons for sure. I love those shows, and still watch them on DVD even today.
She-ra, Thundercats,
don't forget Rainbow Bright!!!!!
D Pras I'm sad to say it but I did watch Rainbow Bright
If Al Pacino was a Smurf: Well SMURF YOU TOO!!!!!
There should be another top 10 cartoons of the 80's. There were so many great toons you cant just have 1 set of top10 for this. lol
You left out Thundercats on purpose. You had to, because it doesn't make sense that Thundercats is not anywhere on this list, or especially in the top 2.
I miss these 1980s cartoons
Where the hell are my five giant robotic lions that transform into Voltron....
Voltron was the #1 rated kids show in the 80s, how could it not be on this list??
I wanted the whole toyline of VOLTRON!
Jamie Sepeda Yeah I agree with you!! 😤
Hey thankfully at least we're getting brand new toys for the reboot next year and they look freakin amazing.
COOL!
no thundercats? you cant be serious that should be number 1. It was bigger than all of these combined and still has a cult following today. Ninja turtles should've been number 2
I was about to type the same thing
WHERE IS THE THUNDERCATS!!!???
All my favorite classic cartoons
Valtron
Thundercats
Classic Spiderman
Super friends
He-man
She-ra
Ghostbusters
Transformers
X-men
Speed racer
G.I.Joe
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
Batman the animated series
These shows were literally my childhood, from age of 2-7
The Transformers is at #2? No! This series was my favorite eighties cartoon. It sold more action figures than any other series.
No Thundercats, Voltron, Legend of Zelda, Hulk Hogan's Rock 'n' Wrestling, Inspector Gadget, Super Friends or Jem? Muppet Babies was god but the best cartoon of the 80's? I don't think so
Damn, son you just dropped some knowledge!!!! I didn't even think about Voltron or any of that stuff, you are TOTALLY RIGHT.
And Garfield, Mario Brothers, and Spider-Man...
Honestly, looking at all of those right there, Voltron is the only one that I would think is deserving of top 10 status. But if you really wanna go for a forgotten 80s classic, where's ROBOTECH? Okay say what you want about it being three separate shows in one, but with the themes and stories that show told, it certainly was ahead of its time.
I never got to see Robotech. I can't recommend a show i've never seen. Based on all the comments here though I really need to hunt down a few episodes
It is true that He-Man and other 1980's cartoons that were done by Filmation were cheaply done in terms of the use of limited animation, but at least they weren't animated in Third-World East Asian/South-East Asian countries by animators who got paid _next-to-nothing_ (the Filmation cartoons of the 1980's were *_still_* animated in the U.S.A.!).
Steven Villman by the way The Simpsons get some animation assistance from a South Korean company
I love the transition from Duck Tales to The Real Ghost Busters.
Omgg...This is returning to the childhood...I grown up watching this cartoons...❤
Took me back to my childhood years 😊!
Hell Nah....my top 3....1. Transformers. 2. He-Man. 3 G.I.JOE
Thank you he man is getting the recognition that it deserves
I'm a 90s kid! I still enjoy watching cartoons from the 80s.
How could they leave out Alvin and the Chipmunks!! They are the epitome of the 80's. And Thundercats, Rainbow Brite, She-Ra and Inspector Gadget, Jem and the Holograms.
I hate the Smurfs with a passion. There are way too many characters to keep track of and it doesn't help that they all have one trait that defines their whole personality, giving no depth or development to themselves whatsoever. Their voices were extremely annoying and Gargamel's reason for catching the Smurf's was always inconsistent, one minute he wants to eat them and next he want to make gold off them. Not to mention Smurfette, the cliched token female character who is only there to be the girl of the group with no personality to her besides "I'm girly, tee-hee!"
Here's a good idea. Look at Communism.
Alisha Dee Smurf, smurfity Smurf Smurf Smurf
I love the smurfs. Lost interest in season 9 when the smurfs started traveling through time.
I was a big fan of Spiderman and his Amazing Friends, although there were many overlooked cartoons that now air late night such as Bravestar, Blackstar and many other Filmation creations that seemed to dominate 80's cartoon lore. The 80's were indeed a strange although unique time for cartoons.
My Favorite Cartoons from the 80s :
G.I. Joe
Transformers
TMNT
Thundercats
M.A.S.K.
*”the Transformers will be right back, after these messages”*
No ThunderCats WHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHAT
I completely agree. Thundercats should be in the top ten.
Thunder thunder thundercats hoooooo!
transformers should of been #1
Great list! That was my childhood summed up in a nutshell.
0:25 My favorite 80s cartoon, even though I was born in the mid-2000s
WTH??? what's wrong with the Care Bears where best i used to watch rerun's. and Ducktales where great too but Watchmojo you forgot to include Webby she was just as adventurous as the boys where.
Don't forget Bubba the caveduck and Gizmoduck.
no dragon ball z. it was the best series in the 80's
well they did not put in it the top 10 90's cartoons.
*****
See kids, never give up.
bubu hassan dragon ball z was a 90s cartoon.
bubu hassan I thought that was a 90's show?!? Lol
I think dragon ball is anime
god the 80s were all about cartoons i miss them all
That was a good ass top 10. I watch all of those toons!! Those were the damn days!!
