@@fistimusmaximus6576 Murder is evil. Especially unprovoked murder. Don't know how they handle alignment and such, but, Darmok is not Lawful-good. The character hasn't done a Lawful-good act yet.
I think the accurate category is 'hate crime'
I was really frustrated that the party paladin lied about innocent golblins being the murderers, and having them killed. What kind of paragon of truthfulness and goodness is this? Shocked that he hasn't fallen, spectacularly, yet.

The restrain and willingness of the players to give each other their place in the spotlight is through the roof! One of those elements that if done right remain unnoticed but are essential for an organic session.

after the solasta playthrough, i now cannot listen to john and craig without thinking of their voices in solasta

Combat usually is my favorite part od DnD (both when wathcing & playing myself), but this... Confrontation let's call it in the ice & its conclusion was just amazing! :D
Uh oh... all manner of possible backlash is stacking up in this episode. Deceiving the guards, tricking the goblins, and discussing the (ice dragon shaped) carrot on a string. At least you were kind to the majestic polar bears, maybe that will count for something in the end. I find myself hoping for more of this content, either longer episodes or more often. If we get an episode just for character development I would love to see what is going on in your players’ heads through all of this.

100 props for that slick betrayal of those poor goblin folk. Just remember, somewhere over the frozen tundra is a little goblin baby whose going to grow up without a mom or dad. They'll eventually get in too deep with a goblin Chieftan and end up with a pimp.

I'll be honest I'm subscribe to this channel for DnD but I am actually considering trying out MTG because of it and I really hope you don't give up on DnD because I REALLY LOVE yours and Craigs DMing style and the rest of the players (and actually use this as a basis on how to DM compared to watching other channels).
Though I would understand that it's mentally draining for you to continue DnD..
Here's some advice: don't get into MTG, at least not what it is now in Standard. I'd say try Commander instead. There are still people in Commander that prefer a more competitive play experience, but the community as a whole usually play it casually :)

The orc conversation.. reminds me of every time my group tries diplomacy ... except we always end up killing everything only a few lines of conversation in. We have questioned a few times as to whether we are the villians or not.
Could quite happily watch 5 episodes of this a week, it's great. I absolutely love how you dealt with the "encounter" in this episode, it's DnD down to a T. Thanks guys!

You inspired me to run Rime of the Frostmaiden for one of my groups, and it looks like I'll be running it possibly 3 times now for different groups of people. This was great, but there was a chance for something fun that was missed: the dwarf that's obsessed with white dragons would probably react to a white dragon-born.

Yeah thats gotta border on chaotic evil alignment with the guard deception with the goblins lol, i thought paladins had to be lawful alignment...but i havent played since 2nd ed...
Edit: having watched the whole ep, that was a Ice cold move from the paladin. I recommend she might be trying to angle for Oath of Redemption as well so that her character has some in-game backstory where she is trying to redeem herself maybe?
I believe that she hasn’t taken the oath just yet. Have to be level 3 to start on subclass. She might be planning to take on oath of conquest which is one of the more evil oath. But I haven’t watched the whole ep yet. Paladins generally don’t have to be lawful good but depends on the campaign if alignment is a big part of the gameplay. 5e I think tends to be a little lenient on that stuff.
Alignment is a relic of the past, its used as a crutch by bad roleplayers and bad DM's use it to collar players.
@@Fredgeorge10 whilst true, I tell my players, its a starting point in terms of how your character started out. After that, alignments can change but for classes and subclasses relying on deities for their powers, I suppose its more about the actions they take which enforces their god's domain.
Alignment is not static nor a strict rule. Its a moral compass. I tell my players this all the time. Good people do bad things, bad people can do a good deed...its no different in D & D. Especially 5e, which is very casual about alignment in the first place compared to other editions and certainly other rulesets.
Awesome as usual! I wish you guys still showed the rolls on screen. It really helped me learn DnD on Roll20 and it helps me "keep up" . Keep up the good work!

It's probably my paranoia but I think the dead goblins are going to come back and haunt the party. Then again you could always sacrifice your Paladin later. She, uh, doesn't read this does she?

I support the Tiefling Warlock...He totally was working with an unreasonable rugman. Work an hour with Prestigiditation? Like...Quantity over time maybe to be work 5 gold, but the rugman felt like he was overhaggling. 5 gold is a lot, true, and an hour's wage for that kind of service is maybe fair, but not apparent.
Divinity dwarves stride, but none stride quite like Solasta Craig.
