I just got this backpack, and the leak issue is 100% fixed there's a small hole on both side access sides for water drainage. It's a near perfect backpack in my opinion, I agree with the bottom not being padded enough but other than that it's a really good backpack.
Nice review which makes me want to buy this bag right now!! I really like the design ! I won’t worry about the LEAKS , because normally I don’t pour water in that way LOL
To be fair the Wandrd Prvke isn’t that water resistant either. The top felt-lined pocket will get damp and the nylon on the bottom will let water through as if it’s been in a puddle.
@@DesmondCheng I'd totally get this bag though water proofing is must for a camera back. Here in South East Asia, it rains every month, so this would kinda be a deal breaker.
Thanks for the review, really interesting backpack. I wish PD took the challenge and updated their 30L backpack with way better straps, better buckles (sternum strap) and a front opening. I would buy that!
I don't own this or any bags similar to this, and became interested in getting one. I think the one would be a deal breaker because there is a lack of passthrough for the shelvings which is important to me. I can forgo front access for more customisability inside the cavity of the bag. Thanks for the straightforward review!
I don’t have the leaking problem that you mentioned. I just got it last week. They have put a small hole at the bottom of the bottle pocket They have also put the same material inside the pocket.
true no one will pour water on it, however if u live in Vancouver, it rains A LOT! So me pouring water on the side for like a couple seconds is equivalent to like being in heavy rainfall for like 5min...
There's a raincover for it.. (extra $15). But yeah, fair point. If it's a little bit more waterproof or has drainage holes it would've been perfect imho. I'm planning to buy the 25L version. Do you think I can fit 3 lenses, a body and a drone with some usual accessories?
Hi, I have been looking at this bag however am concerned with the leaking issue. Can I ask if the bag you had for review was sent to you by the manufacturer and as such a pre-production model as was sent to other UA-cam creators for comment and feedback? The reason I ask is that a more recent review I have watched seems to have resolved the water ingress issue and a few others mentioned by other creators. There does now appear to be a drain hole at the bottom of the water bottle pockets and the outer material now appears to extends to the bottom of the pockets.
for me the PD back packs and also sling bags are the better products, not only because they invented this kinda sleek companions for photo gear, but mainly : 1) the outer material from Pgy is NOT scratch resistant 2. I hate the over softly padded shoulder straps and the back of the back pack - there neither more comfortable (because during trekking or so the back pack has to sit tight on the back) nor better for sweating, just there opposite: the cushion works like a sponge which absorbs the sweat.. if one wet, i prefer to change my shirt instead (and in colder days when I wear a jacket the padding is to thick....).. I also prefer the mounting of the straps with more flexibility. And the final question; why should I ever open the back pack from the front side? then I had to lay it down on the soil etc. - and that is what I exactly wanted to avoid during city or nature trips... ps. and what I really reject are any kind of plastic clips, like with the (very thin) waist belt
@@DesmondCheng ok.. ya I’m debating between the peak design zip and onego.. you are the only one that I felt has done a thorough review of the bag and emphasizing it’s faults.. I appreciate that
if u want something waterproof then the Wandrd Duo is great but no where near as comfy. My favorite waterproof one - Wandrd Duo Fave simple EDC camera backpack - Brevite Runner Most functional camera backpack - Think Tank Urban Access 15 Other most used camera backpack - Langly Alpha Globetrotter
To me, it look like they just copied peak on the good part and neglect things people didn’t mention for peak, truthfully it make me feel like they really didn’t put much thoughts in the design process so some simple design flaws llike this occur.

yeah if ur not going to be using it in heavy rain, it will be fine =)

great point!
I really like HONEST reviews of negatives as well as the positives. I just subscribed and will see if you did a review of the OneMo bag !!
thanks! unfortunately i don't have the onemo, so i won't be reviewing it!
No doubt it has the minimalist peak design back pack but I too love this design. Make easier gear access from the front. Wow!
yeah love the sleak design of this! I love this color option too!

Bags that fall over on their own are the worst! Great review Desy!
i know right? Why do bag manufacturers do that? It's such a simple fix...

oh nice! maybe they improved the bag since i last made this video!
@@DesmondCheng Yes, I also can confirm these improvements! So maybe you have to make a small update ;-)
So hard to find a review like this now days. Thanks Desy ✌
anytime!
Straight forward review. Keep up your good work!
thanks!
Thank you for starting with the things you didn't like about it. That was enough to make me decide that it's not for me. Thanks!
glad i could help!
Ah ,actually it demonstrated it is water-resistant not waterproof ,acutally no one will pour water into that bag in that way.
true no one will pour water on it, however if u live in Vancouver, it rains A LOT! So me pouring water on the side for like a couple seconds is equivalent to like being in heavy rainfall for like 5min...
im happy to say that they fixed the leaking problem by adding a small hole in the waterbottle pocket

good points!
I think, that the Sidepocket from the Wandred DUO is made in the same way like this one.
ahh interesting, ill check that out!
I live in Seattle. Knocked it right off my list. Did me a service - thanks.
The leak! Brilliant find!
Curious how it would compare to the peak design zip.. which also opens from the front
i dont have that one so I can't compare, but I will say that the Wandrd DUO is better than this!

Great review!! I think given how much cheaper it is than the Peak Design it's worth getting for sure.
thanks! yeah for sure!
Very good review, thank you!
your welcome!
Have you tested the OneMo lite for leaks?
nope! but stay tuned, on feb 10th pgytech has another backpack announcement =)
And yes I have it with me right now!
I was about to buy this backpack... Thanks for saving my money and for being honest!! What kind of backpack would be a good alternative?

@@DesmondCheng Have you ever tried Compagnon backpacks? They seem really great but there are hardly any reviews out there.
@@ElBoyoElectronico ive seen those online but haven't seen it in person. They do look awesome though! but very pricey...
@@DesmondCheng Thanks for answering. I will check out your other recommendations!
How is the zipper lockable? Looks like the string goes through the hoop and thats it
Have you tested their OneMo backpack? It's the bag I currently use, and it's pretty incredible. It'd be cool to hear your opinion on it.
not yet! looks like a great bag!
Not having front opening is exactly why I went with a Peak design.
valid point!
Great review!
thanks!
My laptop is 36x27,5cm. Do you think it can fit the laptop compartment? Good review btw
hi! unfortunately i dont have the bag anymore to measure
Question will it fit inside a small gimbal like a weebill S?
They forgot to make a hole at the bottom of the side pocket...

The Peak stuff leaks as well....
It's apparently 18L capacity but looks huge... more like a 30L bag... is it bigger than the company claims?
its not that huge, maybe around 20L
