    Its funny seeing Chase using the tripod that peak design designed for a product that copied peak design .

    Chase, another EPIC session. These backpack manufacturers really need to get you in during design (consulting fee) - why do they wait until the product is done and it's too late?! They could do so much better in advance. Bonus points on an Eddie Murphy reference in a bag review - who else could pull that off?? Of all the flaws in the (cheap) knock-off of PD on this bag, the oversize of the flap in back is really odd to me - like when you see a house that the roof is too big and hangs way too far past the side of the house. I just can't unsee it on this bag. Credit to them for trying in a crowded space, shame on them for such a blatant copy attempt.

      They’re not the first to be heavily influenced by PD (LowePro Freeline did it too), but this bag improved upon the PD bag IMO. Better more durable materials, more comfortable, more customizable organization system with the shelves. What I did NOT like is how heavy it is, the strap management, and it doesn’t really stand up on its own. And for that reason, I sold it and told my Boundary Errant X-PAC I was sorry for making it feel unwanted for a minute.

      @@bryanbuff I'm almost positive the materials on the PD bad are better. Especially that hardware. Man I love that hardware.

    Seems like basically a straight up rip off of the PD Everyday Backpack.

    Camera cubes are usually for full size DSLR. Space in a backpack is restricted and if you have APS-C or Micro 4/3rd you don't need the 12 cm depth a Tenba TOOL BOX at 8cm might be idea. Salvatore Bug Out Bag (now $99) has an interesting lens swap shelf and pockets for every extra you might think of carrying. Instinct used an integrated camera cube in their first 35l travel backpack but then made a 7 litre x-pac Pro Camera Sling Bag (from £69).

    I'm going to keep this positive. Aside from the materials, I really like the shape of the top flap as opposed to PD, though on camera I do like those little natural leather hits. But man, is it me or should people quit using shiny inflatable water-craft material, and thrown down on some x-pac with dark multicam? And yes, I am passively-aggressively talking to Wandrd (as well). With regard to those vinyl looking zippers, YKK makes a mat black water resistant zipper that MW uses on all of their bags (at least all that I own), and it not only looks awesome, it performs like a proper zipper.

    • @jtinseoul7041
      @jtinseoul7041 3 роки тому +2

      The natural leather bits are the bits where they ripped off the Bellroy Apex.. Kinda like the soft mesh bits and the front flap bit ;)

    Oh.. it was not Peter’s bag..
    By the way this bag reminds me prakdesign and bellroy apex. But the new ideas such as bag panel makes me think there is chance that they will be making good original bags on the future.

    So when is Peak Design going to do a video on this bag like they did with the Amazon Basics sling?

    • @kennethlawson1582

  • @someguynj
    @someguynj 3 роки тому +1

    I actually thought this was the PRVKE video when I saw the thumbnail for a quick sec because of the shiny Eddie Murphy look, but yeah this is a big PD rip. It was almost flattering when Amazon ripped their sling design, but for another indie to jump on that look seems a little lazy.

    I take pictures for a living. I have never once wished for or used the "quick access" side opening on camera backpacks. I think the focus on that is silly. Everyone I know uses their camera bags to transport their gear and then takes out their camera once.

    I bought this backpack only to find out after one time in the rain the water bottle/tripod holder portion of the bottle is not waterproof so water accumulated during my whole ride and soaked into the bag and damaged some of my electrical stuff. This is not a good bag and I would not recommend it for anyone
