Thanks for all the practical tips, like putting the weight of the strip set up on the table as you are joining the pieces together. Really love the tip of using the center line of the ruler on the edge to cut the half unit pieces on the outside edge. Wish I had known that one years ago! I have found that if if you rotate the strip set 90 degree away from you, so it is running the long ways vertical and not horizontal, that you can safely make both cuts of each side of the triangle with your right hand (instead of trying to cut with your left hand) Thanks Rob
this is the best! you have helped me so so much in my piecing and i am working on free motion thanks to you! I love your unique designs and thought process. You explain very well.
It's as exciting as I thought it would be! Because of your videos , I am liking strip sets. Lost me at the placement a bit...but only because I'm directionally challenged lol. I see a shortage of rulers in the future hahaaa. Seems when you feature one, sales fly through the roof :) Thanks for yet another awesome video!
After looking at the sides of quilt, I realized this is WAY more complicated than you let on Rob. Do more simpler stuff for us beginners! Plus more Kraft Tex. Thnx
I have seen quite a few of the Man Sewing videos. But I have not come across any that may have where you made the sewing bag that you have hanging on the wall. Sewmando? I think I like what I see on the wall on this tutorial, is there a tutorial for this "wall bag" ?
Love the quilt! I see that you have three cyan green triangles (one at bottom right only visible in quick shot at beginning of video). Is one yard of cyan green enough fabric for three triangles and the binding? How do you lay out the fabric to cut the cyan green triangles? Thank you.
MR. ROB. I Have a question about your sewing machine. The piece next to your needle that is up to next to your fabric. Is that some kind of tool for your sewing machine that comes with it & or can you purchase them for any sewing machine?? I have a se400 brother/embroidery sewing machine. I am assuming that you use it for like a guide to sew a 1/4 inch?? Is that what it is for? Thanks!
This leaves out something important. What about finishing all 6 sides of the hexagon, and making sure your point in the middle is still flat? I'm wondering if Rob left this out on purpose because it's hard?
Hi Tina! Rob is using a seam guide that came with his machine, but he also uses this magnetic one: www.missouriquiltco.com/shop/detail/67125/brewer/-/seam-guide-magnetic-large-with-handle
I love your you tubes! However my order arrived from the missouri quilt company and items are missing. For those who order items from them, please be careful and check all items. Measure all the fabric should you order any.
Hello! Thank you so much for tuning in! I am so sorry to hear about the issues with your order. Could you please email marketing@missouriquiltco.com with your order information, and we will take a look at your order? Thank you!
Rob, when sewing the strip sets together, do you always sew in the same direction? I have heard differing viewpoints on this. Should you sew up one way and down the next or all the same way? Thanks
Wow...my daughter, is not a fan of florals, will love this in yellow and gray!! Thank you Rob
I love how Man Sewing gets away from Fru-Fru into geometrics. I look here for inspiration for quilts for the men in my family. This quilt I'm up for.
Once again, a stunning quilt design. I love these geometric designs.
You are always inspiring and creative. And, your positive attitude is contagious!
Great. Thank for the tutorial. Say hello from Vietnam ❤❤❤

Now sir can you make a simple quilt sometime lol yours quilts ar gorgeous and complicated

Great tutorial. You really mixed-up the hexagons ... very different as apposed to the "normal" hexagon. ;)
Hello! What seam guide is being used? Thanks 😊

Awesome
Love the concept, however you didn't say how to use those half triangle and how to attach them. I am assuming at the beginning and end of each row?
Hello! Yep, the half triangles go at the beginning and end of each row. Thanks for tuning in!
I would do it in grays
I NEED that iron....Might I ask what brand it is?
It is a Panasonic Cordless. I found mine on Amazon.
Thank you very much!!!!

Can I use a different ruler
What is the size of this quilt?
You never give the size of your finished quilt. What size?
Hi Linda! The finished size of this quilt is 41.5 inches wide and 71 inches long. Thanks for tuning in!
Rob, when sewing the strip sets together, do you always sew in the same direction? I have heard differing viewpoints on this. Should you sew up one way and down the next or all the same way? Thanks
Michael and Eileen Killoran I made small quilt using strip sets and had better strips sewing in opposite directions
Also helps sometimes to use a walking foot as it keeps both fabrics moving together.
What are the dimensions to this quit?
Hi Linda! This quilt is 41.5-inches wide and 71 inches long. Hope you have fun creating it! :)
Is there a reason for the sound and vision to be out of sync.
Hi Vanessa! There shouldn't be. Did you try hitting refresh or reload on your browser? Hope this helps!
Great sewing job, but this hurts my eyes.
