The guy is in his forties. You'd think he would have peaked back in the early 90's when shred was still popular, but from what I can tell, he's only gotten better. Paul Gilbert deserves the title of "guitar hero" as much as anyone ever has.
I just love that even though his stuff is so insanely technical and requires experience to play it, every lesson is explained so someone who has just picked up a guitar will generally understand what is going on.
You can't like this guy enough, 3:00 onwards is just hilariously brilliant, especially with the facial expressions on the dundunDUNDUNdundunDUNDUN bit!
OMG. I need Paul to move in with me for about 6 months and sleep, talk, play and eat guitar for 40-60 hours a week. Just work it like a job. He could be Miagii and I could be Daniel-San and he would crack my hands with a ruler when I mess up an arpeggio. I would be his apostle.
I laughed so friggen hard @ 3:26. Paul is so cool. I think hes the only guitarist in the world ive seen where a shirt with a deer on it. Ps Im from Oklahoma.
Stopped trying to learn Paul Gilbert Licks when I bought the tab book for "Lean Into It" and realised my hands were just too damn small! Trully inspirational guitarist though \m/!!!
@InatorCorp Half the reason i like him as much as I do is because of that. He doesn't give a shit what you like, he'll keep practicing for 18 hours a day in his basement like any kid with a guitar and play only what he damn well pleases
Paul is out of this earth..Such a great player!! His voice seems to have gone coarse for some reason with age but that hasn't changed his playing in a bit :D
Wait, did he say it's hard to play and count? Ok, got it. In his next concert, I'll take some math problems and show him in the middle of the concert, so I can prove he's human, and get the Nobel of Nobels! Btw, I can't count and play at the same time, so I'm just kidding... I was already sensing some people judging me...
@stevedaikovai It's not hard dude , u just have to get it . It's simple , u just count it like : one two , one two three / one two , one two three / and thats it :)

Nothing in the world makes me smile like beautiful guitar playing. :)
hahaha 3:13: "aren't i clever?" says Paul Gilbert. I agree 100%.
Yes, you are genius, Paul 💖💖💖
Whoah.. I’m already amazed with the intro of Sweet Child of Mine by Slash.. then I see this lol 😆
@Laggalaggadingdong Paul wont die, he will just shred himself back to life

How can you dislike this? Seriously?
G#minor7flat5 now that's a chord!
3:13 Yes, you are Paul!!
@xdivinebladex But I wouldn´t go for upstrokes for 2 years and not thinking of "ahh I can do down strokes too!" ;)
Paul Gilbert FTW!!! :D Love him ^^

Thanks for uploading, I can now perfect my tab!! :D
it is just ridiculous to be so good...man...this guy can do no wrong.

If you really have small hands it can get harder but it's not impossible. Just stretch those hands like crazy, you can get there.
I think Remy Hansen got it all spot on in his lesson by the looks of it!
it sounds like his playing has gotten a wole lot smoother and cleaner...... and i didn't think it was possible. it's just not fair :(
Thanks!
@YummyBananaFish Hey There!
Well, some of the fingerings are different. But all the notes are correct!
But Basically yeah! Thanks
ok to understand PG's playing, you have to play in minor 7 b5
priceless face at the end hahahaha omg
wow, minor 7 flat 5, I would like to see Paul plays jazz in the futureee
Paul is out of this earth..Such a great player!! His voice seems to have gone coarse for some reason with age but that hasn't changed his playing in a bit :D

Sounds like Bach's gigue in d minor the descending part.
3:26, LOL
see to beliebe x.x
This did not help me play that intro any better. Dang.
lo hace parecer tan facil
Paul's mistake of starting off on guitar with only up stroke picking definitely really paid off
Who the hell are the 2 people who don't like this?
I can´t do thisxd
I he say that it's difficult then it really IS DIFFICULT. XD
@wickedwizardofspeed MXR Phase 90 Script logo
3:26 DUDE ! That's almost like Metallica - Master of Puppets riff from the Kirk's pre-solo part :D
This sounds a little like Danny Elfman. That's a good thing, btw.
I have been trying to learn this song... and just realised you dont pick everything. My week wasted...
:(
Warning: Minor 7 Flat 5 chords. Only for people with the first name Paul.
one person plays like 3:24
Learn min7b5, Paul McCartney uses it!
