    That autowit box is actually a lot cooler than a normal battery box. It's a capacitor so it charges from your mostly dead battery then uses that power to give you a jump start.

      Wow that's such an unusual approach. I too thought it was just another lithium battery pack.

    • @MrMega200
      @MrMega200 9 місяців тому +121

      Autowit only works if there is charge in the battery and it isn't at it's end of life. A regular lithium jump start box will jump start larger engines much easier. Project Farm reviewed it and it couldn't handle the tractor engine while similarly priced lithium ones would.

    • @TimBass
      @TimBass 9 місяців тому +91

      @@MrMega200 yeah, not for every circumstance. But I'd say it is amazing for most circumstances people face. Normal car battery that's just weak/old or 'ran the radio too long' kind of situations.
      Lithium batteries have to be charged ahead of time and they don't like to be stored at full charge since it reduces their lifespan. They don't like being stored in super hot or cold places, which is exactly what a car is most of the time plus they can occasionally catch fire for no reason. A lot of advantages of this kind of capacitor pack since it avoids all of that.

    I actually have one of those hudways and I've found that it's a great idea which in practice is a little inconvenient. For example, in my SUV the seating position is quite high and so I end up looking down at it and taking my eyes off the road anyways. Another thing is that you need at least a foot of space ideally on top of your instrument cluster to stick the thing, so if you have a low clearance windshield or an instrument cluster that slopes down in behind, it won't fit. Also I've found the projected display is a little fuzzy, but if you can mount it in a place where it's actually in front of your view while driving, it's a solid little thing.

    I actually got a HUD off amazing for like $18 a couple years ago. I mainly got it because the engineers at Mazda decided that my 2012 Mazda3 Skyactiv 6spd manual didn't need a coolant temp gauge, we just get a blue light for cold and a red light for overheating so by the time you hit red it's probably too late. My HUD does speed/temp/rpm/voltage although the rpms are real slow and the speed is not very accurate but IT plugs into the obd2 and reads the temps that way so I didn't have to mess with sensors or install a temp sensor in the hoses. Works good for that.

      Start pushing! Also, does it come with a twist tie to seal the bag closed afterwards? If you don’t have an open top car, good luck putting the car back in gear with the parking brake set afterwards. It’s subtle, but they are pushing that car in to the bag!
      For flood zones, easier to jack up the car and put the car on “stilts” to lift it up, or try one of those inflatable car covers you drive in to, then get out and seal the car in. Or put a 4 post lift in your garage, if you have the money for one. For “minor flooding”, you could use car ramps and just park your car on those.
