Paula, my son cooks dinner for me. In a half cup of water lots of cayenne and thyme in a big skillet, he dices up fresh organic: red onion, mushrooms, sweet red peppers, half cup rice, broccoli, green beans, artichoke hearts, and last, spring salad on the top layer. Cover and put on high for 15 minutes, then on Iow for forty. -Cook it in a covered heavy skillet until it looks like stew, then adds cooked organic red meat in a separate pot. When meat is done, add fresh uncooked garlic minced. Then he combines it with the stew. I add Balsamic to my serving. We love it. Sometimes we substitute the beef with cooked salmon, sometimes cauliflower for rice.
Great dish Bobby. I am anxious to try it. Your mom reminds me of my late mother - Vickey. She was Paula's biggest fan, and wrote down every recipe that Paula shared.
I first tried this recipe from the first cookbook that Ms Paula had out, my family loves it. From the first recipe that she made tho it said to not add the package of spices in the rice cuz of the salt. Also didnt cook the shrimp first either. I love this recipe along with her baked pasta florentine recipe feom the first books she put out. Havent made this in a long minute but will plan to do so cuz i have all the ingredients.
I make a version of this handed down from my grandmother-in-law. Wild rice, cream of mushroom soup, sautéed fresh mushrooms, onion, shrimp. Gruyere cheese or something of a similar flavor, fresh parmesan, pinch of lemon pepper seasoning, garlic salt, & of course Old Bay seasoning on that shrimp! Panko topping is an addition I have added to make it my own.
I like Bobby and love the idea of shrimp in a casserole. But saying (twice) one needs to gently fold the ingredients specifically so the shrimp don’t get torn up is overkill. 😂 Shrimp are one of the most sturdy proteins! 🙂
The shrimp must be rubbery after cooking twice. I'd season them and incorporate them raw. 20-25 minutes in the oven will cook them. I'm not a fan of canned soups, but isn't there a shrimp based bisque that could substitute and add more flavor.
That's an absolutely basic recipe left wide open to all kinds of spices, meats and vegetables. I do the same thing with, not a recipe per se, but just a dump and go dish because it doesn't take any brain cells to get it done if you're tired or busy and hungry. My favorite is to add a really big hefty dose of blackened seasoning, red pepper flakes, garlic powder, black pepper, lemon juice, red onions and bell peppers with the shrimp and some broccoli florets, white cheddar and a bit of parmesan, but will use chicken too and even use chicken and shrimp together. And the wild rice adds more texture than just plain rice does, and I like to use a jasmine and wild rice combination. And if you're asking yourself if I actually just said that Bobby wasn't using many brain cells to make that dish, I reckon I did.
Thinking they use the convection oven a lot right as Paula said she uses in her restaurant and said once they started using these she just loves to continue....thinking that is why they used the one in her pantry even more...i may be recalling incorrectly I'm.getting old..
Bobby, it would be nice if you would give measurement of ingredients. Is the rice Uncle Ben's "white and wild rice?" You said "wild rice". Unfortunately I am always turned off by a recipe that requires "canned soup".
I don't understand why all on this channel do not mix all the ingredients together THEN simply fold in the said tender ingredient (shrimp in this case). I have seen this happen in many recipes where they gently fold in one ingredient then another and another all the while saying be gentle as to not tear the folded ingredient. Also after taking dish out of oven let it rest a few minutes then turn camera back on. Not in this case but so many times a dish will collapse on itself (like her lasagne and many others) because it has not been allowed to set. And hearing all the time how super hot the dish is the cook is about to taste gets old.
I don't agree he and his brother have their own style to things and they help you make great recipes in less amount of time. It's a great addition and extension of Paula's family. I remember a friend starting with Paula and then intro to her sons for making all things good. Paula's recipes are longer and delicious as well.
Y'all, I just love a quick and easy casserole recipe! What are some of your favorite easy casserole recipes for dinner?

Great dish Bobby. I am anxious to try it. Your mom reminds me of my late mother - Vickey. She was Paula's biggest fan, and wrote down every recipe that Paula shared.
Thank you. I will make that soon.
I don't really like cheese on seafood but I like the idea of crispy onions or the panko. Yum! Thanks, Bobby.
Looking good Bobby, I will definitely be trying this 👍🙏❤️😎

Looks 😋 FYI... I mix Everything else 1st and then fold in the 🍤 last..seems to maintain the shrimp texture better... Gonna try this 1👏

So he's cautious, who cares.

Hola 👋
How does the shrimp not get over cooked??
I have the same question 🙋🏼♀️ it looks so good, but l am afraid to make it .
He cooked the shrimp for only a minute. The risk is getting it rubbery in a skillet. All the moisture in the casserole would keep it moist.
Certainly answers my concern…..

How many cups of wild rice ? i make it by itself so need to know the cups.
Why are you not getting that oven fixed in your kitchen?
Thinking they use the convection oven a lot right as Paula said she uses in her restaurant and said once they started using these she just loves to continue....thinking that is why they used the one in her pantry even more...i may be recalling incorrectly I'm.getting old..
@@jdamico4655 Thank you 🙏
Right! Heck, with Paula’s money she can just buy a new one! I think they like the drama of it not working properly. 😂
@@ckrtom2 I just don’t get it you’re tight lol
Don’t think there is anything wrong with her kitchen oven, have seen her use it as well as the one in the pantry!
Yall make a lot of seafood recipes!!
Palatable, lol
He didn't taste it? I enjoy seeing cooks taste their creations!
Looks good, but that looks like a rice mix with wild rice, not pure wild rice. Good recipe!
Wonderful recipe. He looks poorly. Just saying. I hope nothing wrong. God Bless.
I agree but I thought it was just me. Somethings isn't right. I had to do a triple take to even be sure it was him.

Why does he look so thin....

You can tell he doesn’t know his way around the kitchen.
I guess you don't know he had his own cooking show
