In case you also forgot to bring it out of the refrigerator overnight to thaw, in the pot you’re gonna use for the banku, you can also boil water, turn the fire off under it and drop your frozen dough/banku mix in the hot water. Cover it for 5 minutes, then viola! Everything is soft and thawed! 😊

Great video Sweet✌✌✌... You have given me a new way in saving time when it comes to banku making... Especially mixing the cassava and corn dough before freezing.... I always buy the already made packaged cassava dough and add to my home made corn meal dough but from now on I will be making the cassava dough myself.... Thank you.... God continue to richly bless you 🙏
Okay, this is me after trying this, OMG I'm so happy, I enjoyed this with okro stew, even though I'm not in Ghana I get to finally enjoy banku Ps: I bought fresh cassava then soaked in water just as you suggested, I also bought white corn meal from a farmer
Wooow Sis.... Huge CONGRATULATIONS FOR 300k. You are EXCEPTIONAL AND EXTREMELY TALENTED, LETS GO 500k Zooming in Soonest. 🍾🍾You deserve it all dear.... i enjoyed watching this STEP BY STEP TUTORIAL . Your Mums Secret is the Best, i remember watching a video, where she spoke about it🤣Awesome outcome. ❤️❤️🌹🌹
Sweet oh sweet. Today I'll behave in class. I would usually say I'm not doing this but my Ghana store is charging 5 bucks for some small banku mix so it time I stop being lazy and do this. Great vid as always!!
This is very interesting as I am not grom Ghana but South Africa. Can you show us what you would eat this with or how you eat this or maybe do a video if you haven't already about the foods accompaniments? Thank you
I love your videos. Just a suggestion which you and others might not agree; let's promote African products? I believe that platforms like yours are the place for this kind of initiative and that's if it is an idea you agree with.
Hi sweet Adjeley I love watching you. Can I use any kind of cornmeal and any fine yellow corn flour? Also what is the difference between cornmeal and corn flour. Thank you and God bless you
Yes Sweetie, 50% of cassava dough if it's with okor and more water during mixing to hve the soft consistency. 25% of cassava and more water to keep it soft for days if it's with pepper or soup. The difference is always important
Hello sweet you're just a life saver, you make living abroad easier. Please i watched ur previous video and decided to try the Indian head, its very good but my only problem is the texture. It's not as smooth as you show in ur videos. In fact i blend mine before i ferment it. Am i buying the right product or thats how the texture is?
Hey Sweetie.. hope you are doing good..!! I have been to Ghana in year 2015 and had lot of Banku as a part of my daily meal. Now I am in India but miss Ghanian Banku. Can you tell me how can i prepare banku here in India.
Sweet, I mistakenly added too much water to my corn dough when prepping it to ferment. It’s more like a thick watery consistency. Can it be salvaged? Thanks.
That song made me laugh, good stuff. I just ordered a home delivery of banku with goat meat and peanut soup.. gonna enjoy it. Greetings from the Netherlands
For the first time I have to comment, this is a mixture the people from the Anloga, Keta or the southern part of Volta Region do in the homes. It's variety of Akple and mostly served in funerals. It's very nice.
Exactly for those in gh all you need is the dry corn dough we use for Akple, mix with your cassava dough and you are good to go. Preparing this type of banku is simple and very fast. No stress of breaking lumps and it looks sooo good . Try it guys
Is it like fermented corn pudding or porridge? You said dough so I was thinking you would bake it or fry it like a bread. Is it not a corn bread dough? Sorry, I’m from USA and not familiar with some of these types of foods, but I’m very interested. I might make a few of your recipes. Such a long process for this one. You don’t get to eat for almost a month. Lol😉
Hi sweet adjeley after mixing the corn dough and the cassava together, you said the fermentation continue, please how long do you allow it ferment more ?
Love all your recipes. I recently found out I'm cluten intolerance, now I love bread and pastries. Can you make some cluten free bread and other pastries 😍
My favorite food from Ghana 🇬🇭 you’re incredible can’t wait to go back and visit in February. My parents still have a home in Ghana
The way you mixed them is an indication that you have been doing this for a while.
Congratulations on your milestone.
