Heres what I've gotten: Laning into sett? Don't play (Pray he doesnt freeze wave, if he does, GG next) Sett mid game? Unles you dominated sett in the early game(which didnt happen) avoid sett in teamfights at all costs, and since hes still strong, also avoid him in 1v1s. You can, however, 1v5 sett and maybe get a kill Sett late game? Pray he isnt fed and pray your ADC knows how to kite. Overall: Sounds like a broken champ to lane as with little/no counterplay. He outdmgs other melee tops, his passive allows him to ignore poke dmg, and his W allows him to ignore burst. How fun and interactive Play for late game, and hope the enemy jg doesnt camp you Hope sett doesnt freeze Hope you have a good ADC Hope you have a good jg to either relieve pressure from your lane, or to countergank if you get dove(If you get dove by sett + jg, you die) Am I missing something? Poke damage so he can't charge his W, once he used it (not charged so unless u dumb u didn't take too much damage) and burst him down. Also the worst thing for him in team fights is not landing a good W. If he misses or hits only 1 enemy with true dmg its over. So don't group as much like a bronze and CC him (very important. CC. You know, the thing that removes him from the game for a few seconds? Yeah, try that) also he has to perfectly place his R, so your tank (or you since your top) doesn't try to come up right in front of your backline(adc, support) to give him a little kiss in the cheek you're fine. As you can see their is counterplay my friend. I'll tell you that. He is easily punished for his mispositioning, cooldowns and miss judgements (if he can fight or not) because he has no way out of a fight expect for R, which you have to turn around the guy to go where u want. Look for the good opportunitys and he can't do anything. Hope this helps. Also I saw someone in the comments say that they were sett main and said he should be nerfed 15% of his damage. Like wtf. No. His items got pissed on by Riot and he got nerfed a lot since released. tf are you talking about.
% hp shred are really good, because his mathematically correct build with max hp and ad gives him a lot of hp ans big W shield, but little resistances. I'd say the best items against him are bork, divine sunderer, liandrys & lord doms
Best Champs to counter sett: Fiora + Vayne(and any other champ who can poke him to death from safe distance. Sett wants to use a fully charged W, if u keep poking him and back off he can't break ur face. Yes he could heal all that damage by simply staying out of ur range and not csing or bait u and flash + E + Ult under ur tower + towershots = Charged W but atleast now u have some chance
if you play a high mobility champ like fiora, trynda or wukong you can destroy him early cause his W CD is 23 secs and you'll be able to dodge it 80% of the time if you timed your dash skill with his W and in mid-game team fights he tends to be really aggressive so try to punish him whenever he does a stupid move

there is no counter for this "balanced" champion. he outtrades every other top laner... at any state of the game. and when he is close to lose a fight... he presses his AOE cho gath R which u can only dodge every 5 minutes with flash. R slows for 99% --> u cant dodge his W. E Stuns you --> cant dodge his W. E slows you (cause the sett player does not even NEED to land a stun) --> cant dodge his W. if you google "imbalanced champion" you will find only pictures of sett. he needs a LOT of nerds... since hie release.
Sett is based, I feel like he’s good where he’s at. There’s tons of other champions with easier abilities for kills. Everyone is so butt hurt about him

His shield is just extra durability, there's more matter about his W damage. As a main, i could say that the best way to counter him is shields and early game penetra, cuz before he buy any armor he's squishy as trundle before ult

Also, his splitpushing potential late game when people are hovering baron is amazing, you can split bot when everyone is top, then force 2 people to come to you (yes 2 because they cannot 1v1) then either fight them or back depending on who resetted. As a Sett main, I will warn all of you. We've figured out a counter last patch to the "pick up penetration to shred his defenses" By simply not getting defensive items and just continuously getting more health to use for our Haymakers. Focus on not letting him do anything at all, which is honestly a universal counter, and you'll be fine. Still, the advice is golden. Sett is a duelist. He will most likely kick your ass in a one on one. Judging from the matches where I lost lane as Sett, it's simple. Never fight him one on one, keep bullying him with your jungler or mid, you will usually push him back if your jungler rolls up with full health - if not killing him outright with an on-point gank. Or just counterpick him with Vayne or any big range big damage champions and kite him to hell and back. I still have nightmares about that match against Brand top.
@@Heisssam He doesn't have a late weak. none of the bruisers seem to. The "weakness" late game seems to be around 5-10% weaker. Nothing compared to the advantage they have all game until lv 16

next patch you just dont lane against teemo if you heavy atacking champ with a 4sec cd on blind and a 3 sec blind you dont want to face it anymore as a pure auto atack champ

My hardest matchup yet - Nasus Pls, I need a counter on nasus I struggle with every single champion against nasus (especially due to him buying divine sundered)
As a Nasus main I find most difficult common matchups to be Tahm, Camille, Darius. That said it’s more about how you play the lane than which champion. Either slow push into a coordinated dive with jungler on wave 3 or otherwise you need to try to freeze. If you are just mindlessly pushing or harassing without awareness of wave management you are messing up.

You can counter tham with sett, he can't stun you usefully as you can just w, which still triggers while stunned. Or go morde, his passive continues during tahms ult. Or urgot, whose w still attacks and you can also trigger urgot ult, whilst swallowed.
To counter Gwen? As a riven main i recommend riven, you can bully Gwen early by not letting her stack her passive, if she doesn't respect your damage you can easily get a flash or a kill with ignite, dodge the true DMG with e, and you'll be good.

Also cc tanks as Orn or Sion could outscale him after 2nd back(in case of no fed), because their def pieces are too hard to get through
And if enemy tank has any single kill early, it would be very very hard for him to take the lead
One of his weakest time is lvl 1 when you could just flash his W and then outdamage him
And it's pretty hard for him to outdamage the champs with a lot atk speed(letal tempo) early

As a Sett player, the best counter is simply building Blade of the Ruined King, ESPECIALLY on the mathematically correct build.

Just try to outscale as Kayle. When Teemo blinds you, w away to kite and then come back to auto him to death.
