Hey! I am a Sett one trick with 200 games this season and over 1000 since his release - I am currently Diamond 1 on NA server and pushing Master Tier. The build advice section is honestly incorrect. You can go trinity force into some matchups, but you will struggle with wave clear and often get overshadowed by stronger champions. Honestly if you were going to build an item first into a matchup where you might consider trinity force (Olaf, for example, maybe Darius), BOTRK would be a much stronger first item option that leaves you open to flexibility in your other items. Autolykus isn't building trinity force, according to Lolalytics, no servers are prioritizing trinity force, the highest ranking Sett players in Korea are all building variants of ironspike whip items combined with Titanic Hydra, Sterak's Gage, and Cleaver. The rest of the guide is quite decent. For any players confused by trinity force, here's what I've been doing and maintaining a 60% winrate +/- ~2% depending on the day in diamond+ Matchups where you need to win without hitting W: Blade -> Stridebreaker -> Sterak's Matchups you lose (Jayce, Kennen, etc.): Stride -> Sterak's -> Deadman's / FON [Take TP here most of the time] Into tanks: Stride/Cleaver in whatever order you want -> Stride/Cleaver whichever you didn't build -> Sterak's gage Into 3+ melee champs you can replace stridebreaker with goredrinker You can also replace black cleaver for titanic hydra if you really feel like it, but I find that I get more value out of cleaver on average.
@@SkalliDE he's correct lol, triforce is only good for bursting squishies and splitting, everything else the other mythics are better. Stride is really valuable in melee lanes you hard lose (darius, trynda at lvl 6) since it allows you to short trade with E Q and stride to disengage with slow, and in ranged matchups its a must to stick on enemies. Gore is good if your main purpose in the game is to frontline for your team against a heavy grouping comp where you can get a lot of value out of the active heal. Bork is a valid rush item in some very specific cases where you can force extended trades but you will most likely end up selling it if you're full build and replace it with a bruiser/tank item. Heartsteel is valid into extreme cases where you need to have some scaling and enemy laner doesn't have kill pressure on you but you don't have kill pressure either (sion, mundo, etc). TriForce Hullbreaker builds look good on paper, but if your team is already winning then you are better off building standard and grouping with team to win game, and into a large number of matchups, TriForce is very suboptimal.
@@SkalliDE just trying to share knowledge to the player base my dude. As noted, I cited high ranking Korean Sett players and high ranking NA sett players as well as data from Lolalytics for NA, EUW, and KR regions. None of the individual players are consistently deviating from ironspike whip items and none of the gross data from platinum and diamond + show trinity force as the highest winrate build or as a common build at all.
@@Amnesia0000 matchups where you are extremely favored to the point where ur W isn't all that important to hit, for example garen who you outdamage with that build and only really need to use W for the shield when he has R. Fiora is another example but you need to be aware of how to manipulate her vitals and how to trade properly to nullify her kit. Another example is the windshitter brothers where you just statcheck them and win virtually every single fight without W.
Trinity is a great dueling item and very fun but stride breaker is great utility for sticking into champs who want to run away. Goredrinker is still great as well since your a melee champ who want to group champs together with your E and the omnivamp makes it good for dueling as well
In other words, he just simply let anyone approach him since he doesn't have any engage tools. "Oh, you're approaching me? Instead of running away, you're coming right to me?"
Fun fact, the combo mentioned at 2:29 is straight up not the combo used, instead they used Q to gap close, then used the movement speed from trinity to move around and R them

@crazyman7504 Darius, Morde, Illaoi, Rene, if eqw + e out several times, Malphite, Camille post 1-2 items. Sett also can't really punish ornn, so he just scales.
@@HellfireScorpionoof, the dueling is good at 1 item, but isn't that way too slow for health stacking with the anti-synergy? You only really need botrk vs duelists. If starting heartsteel is too difficult in most situations, wouldn't a black cleaver, Steraks, or titanic be better? Gets you that ad and hp, and has a good start as well Though nowadays goredrinker or stridebreaker is preferred since it just gets you great stats and doesn't need build up
I play a lot of Sett, and for the most part yes, and I believe that’s how it’s intended, but it doesn’t always unless you have TCO on, which is actually so tilting when it doesn’t.
Heartsteel is a bait item on Sett. It takes way to long to get online and you lose so much dueling power by having hp instead of ad. Sure you're getting more hp so the potential for a big W is there but you'll end up doing less damage with W most of the time because you have so little ad so the percentage of grit consumed is so much lower. I would not recommend it except for fun
@@the_moonwatcher9196 I automatically win lane against most matchups when I buy heartsteel. I was almost losing against a jax, got heartsteel, boom. Easy lane after that, and easy damage
Why conqueror over something else, such as Lethal Tempo? Attack speed also scales well on Sett but building on-hit items that grant it tends to be less valuable than bruiser/tank. Meanwhile, Conqueror's healing only comes into play if people handshake a drawn out fight with you which in my experience isn't always the case- is is just for the scaling AD on-hit?
From mi experience, lethal tempo is only good on extended 1v1s, but when teamfights occur, it's very unlikely you will be able to autoattack that much, since your will most likely R E W and hope you don't die the next 5 secs. Also, I don't think anyone runs conqueror for the healing anymore, it's just generally good on bruisers for the added AD on all sett's kit.
alright but then like, how do i play this champ into characters with so much mobility, like sylas, kat, and so on, even warwick, when ever i W he holds onto q going behind me, and he can just mix that up
@@inbeing3464 if its me ah no i know XD the adc main who shall be named who was secretly a jax main who said "you definitely fantasize of sett flash ulting your "yuumi" in to a wall" 🤣🤣🤣
Honestly, I don't understand how this can be the "ultimate Sett guide" when I see the build you advice. Sett wants AD and HP in priority (AS/Armor/MR then), there are better options than BoTRK (cf. Black Cleaver against tanks), as statistically, it's not such a good item on him. And damn, Silvermere Dawn, really? Even if stats are what Sett wants, do you think that there is no better item? Hullbreaker can be fine but only as a split-pusher (Sett's kit is designed for TF so it's a shame to play him like Tryndamere :/ ). I could add more criticisms but I stop there... As you said, items change with the meta, but here, mistakes are not based on the moment where people (will) watch the video. Maybe you should only give tips on combos and phases (when you don't forget something like F + R or R + E which increases the original range of E - I'm not sure it still works anyway).
Blade is actually a really good rush item, don’t get it if it’s not your first, especially when behind because it allows you to cheat 1v1s you’d normally lose, especially into champs like Darius, Olaf, Irelia, and Yone, granted you should be ahead in the latter matchups anyways, but mistakes happen and blade can be your crutch back into the game. Silvermere is a completely comp dependent item (ie Morde and Malz), typically Force of Nature is the superior option as movement speed is really important on Sett. I also think you should only go Trinity when uber ahead, because it really feels useless if you’re even or behind. I think Sett is a champion you can build almost any mythic on him for the most part, and get value out of it. Best ones in most games though are and in order, Goredrinker, Stridebreaker, Heartsteel, Divine Sunderer, Prowlers, Trinity, Iceborne/Jak Sho. And yes, you should go Steraks 9/10 over hullbreaker.
