+Alfred Malam The most successful 1st Division clubs in Europe during the 70's and early 80's were Liverpool, Forest, Villa and Leeds. And all of these teams consisted of BRITISH players.(And all of the managers were English or Scottish) Only Steve Heighway and Bruce Grobelaar come to my mind who were not. That's one reason why England generally fail...too many key players in those clubs were mainly from Scotland, but also from Wales.(Dalglish, Lorimer, Souness,Gemmil, Hansen, Hughes etc) And now in the PL, which is only big business now, if you're English and get to play, consider yourself lucky. It's all divas now who have no loyalty to their club. I'm sure Forest or Liverpool or the best of both from the 70's, if they represented a UK team, (with Clough as manager) would have done as well as Germany has. But it seems it will just get worse. We don't invest enough into the youth.

1966???????????????????
John Barnes was so much better than England let him be.
Barnes goal > Marachaeters v us in 86.
That goal by Barnes was the only thing he ever did for England.
Brazil had lots of chances more than England, your too hard on them, in Football you have to have luck; 2 years later that England team was knocked of the World cup by Maradona's right hand, we should have broken his legs the cheat!!
that England team should have won the World Cup in 1982 and in 1986, but as we know in 1986 the hand of crackhead got in the way
+ian cannon England can do it again if you guys would just see what is wrong with the EPL; Its all foreign players in your league. Why do guys allow so many foreign players your league to the extent that its has such a very negative effect in your National team. You will never going to have a strong national team again. You might as well forget about wining the World Cup.
Idriss Aluma what would you know about it? What is your international team? Don't tell me, let me guess ....Brazil? You make me laugh
Idriss Aluma Did you see England away in Germany recently?
He don"t know shit from clay, look what Germany did to mighty Brazil. He doesn't know his arse from his elbow Fuckwits that don't live in Brazil but support them
- it was a really weak Brazil team, a full strength team and itdve been a different story I’m certain ( with respect to England ), however it’s still a scalp for England and they did a job and did it well. I think Hateley was at Pompey at the time and got his move to AC Milan on the back of this game.
The question of Shilton or Clemence really irritated me. Shilton was by far the better keeper.
But as Clemence played for Liverpool, well say no more!
