mgrinirvine His lucky Korn taken him too lol before Korn he was an hired gun for whoever , so pretty sure he feels lucky to have that gig and all the exposure he have now cuz of Korn, before that never knew who he was😉
@@JayCord00 well he was with this little known guy named David Lee Roth. Probly never heard of him..he was the lead singer of this indie group called van halen. Pretty obscure...
@@thenecropolis_ov_former_lo3396 sure with Eddie and Alex right ? Ohhhhhh yeah i know nothing about music , good try little girl , you know the bands Pentagram , Acid Bath , Mc5 , Granicus , BadAcidTrip , JJ Cale , Down the Sun , PulseUltra okok ill stop , get it , trying to be a smart ass , dosent work for you lol
Like all good drummers, he understands the importance of musicality. He doesn't blast quads for four straight minutes. He plays with nuance and great style.
I think I've decided that Ray is actually my favorite drummer. I actually think he is the best. It's his technical skill combined with his creativity and joy for music.
Thank GOD for Ray Luzier... he's the most inspirational drummer for me out there right now. His playing is so creative and powerful, it makes me come up with new ideas all the time in my band!
HAHAHAHA look at David Elitch face @ 4:06!!! Completely STONED! He was probably thinking "I'm starving dude..." Ps:Those who haven't seem this guy playing... His a freaking genius!
WOW!! I've never been a big Korn fan and never really paid much attention to the drumming, but I have to say this guy kicked my ass!! Extremely talented and has groove from funk to metal. Totally killer on all accounts. I'm a new fan of Roy hands down!!
I urge everybody to check out a band Ray was in, called 9.0. Their sole album, "Too far gone" is a masterpiece. It mixes hard rock with a slight progressive edge. Very talented chaps.
Ray, one of the best out there, watch his instructional DVD made years ago before Korn, comes with sheet music which in most of the cases is ridiculous to even look at
You guys should check out the Metalhead vs Head video. where Ray and Charlie from Anthrax sit down and chill. you learn about ray's background a bit. He did marching band/drum corps if I remember correctly. Additionally played for David Lee Roth so that's Amazing!
djent is totally a genre Yeah, I agree to an extent. I wouldn't say they're better than the vast majority, they're certainly incredible players though.
For anyone interested its called the "Soundwave Technique" and its basically playing with the soundwaves that project off the cymbal. Its an old big band technique from the Krupa/Rich days. Luv Ray!
That looks like a pearl masters kit..and yeh ray is a very talented drummer you can see with every move every single motion is smooth he utilizes every part of the kit all motions on all of the kit are precision and precise..just like running water..
Actually on-contrair, they sometimes get to much recognition, specially the ones who are popular, like Lars Ulrich.... Jazz drummers though, don't get as much recognition though, Ray Luzier I would categorize him into the Jazz drummer circle since his base and much of his chops fit the bill, theres a lot of drummers who don't get recognition though.
Korn won the lottery with this guy
No shit, they're lucky to have him

I think ray could play pots and pans and still sound good. Never get bored watching him play.
His drumming skills is as great as his personality. Super down to earth ^_^
No people bitching for David to come back? Cool lets keep it that way:) \m/
Nope ray luzier is a legend and will ever be one of the most consistent drummers no sloppy playing by his years of performance
Like all good drummers, he understands the importance of musicality. He doesn't blast quads for four straight minutes. He plays with nuance and great style.

Ray luzier is a badass on the set
I think I've decided that Ray is actually my favorite drummer. I actually think he is the best. It's his technical skill combined with his creativity and joy for music.

Guy's got it going on, big time. What a talent. Very tasteful, musical and dramatic solo.
This is my favorite style of playing honestly. It's not all super fast sounding fills, there's a lot of technical prowess mixed with passion.
HAHAHAHA look at David Elitch face @ 4:06!!! Completely STONED! He was probably thinking "I'm starving dude..."
Ps:Those who haven't seem this guy playing... His a freaking genius!
that guy is the best thing that happened to korn...
That press roll is freakin flawless
Ray took Korn to a whole other level... Check out the Army Of Anyone and the Hideous Sun Demons cds too, amazing and creative drumming at it's finest!
Ray was rockin’ pandemic hair a decade early.
this man is a god
the click hat has amahzing sounddddd
Gee this guy is a down to earth, skilled drummer. His tutorials and advice are great.
Ray is the best Korn's choice about drumming for the band. This guy probably dedicated part of his life to reach it.
That 18 HHX groove control crash sounds so good!!
Ray the absolute fucking madman.
This guy inspired me playing up to 12 fucking hours a day.
Much love!
WOW!! I've never been a big Korn fan and never really paid much attention to the drumming, but I have to say this guy kicked my ass!! Extremely talented and has groove from funk to metal. Totally killer on all accounts. I'm a new fan of Roy hands down!!
this is the most balanced bass drum sound i have ever heard
From that groove into the blast beat at 3:38. I lost it. So good.
Practicioner, groove, technique, style, an amazing drummer! big influence!
im loving that splash and that aero crash. very sick. im love getting those for my kit. amazing!
God I'm glad he got rid of the bowl cut...
This guy explores every cymbal, drum in front of him and goes apeshit. Love it...
That drum kit needed a cigarette after that 🚬
Some of the best fucken drumming I have ever seen
That ride is amazing!
what a beautiful kit!!! And the Sound!! Ouchhhh
That snare tone is fucking bad ass!

+SELMUN TATATAYA Thank you for reminding me to listen to them!
I don't know what that was # classic ray!
Amazing solo, so original, one of my favourite ever solos!
Seriously one of the nicest guys you'll ever meet, too.
Wow i love this dudes style
That is the best sounding floor tom I have ever heard.
Ray, one of the best out there, watch his instructional DVD made years ago before Korn, comes with sheet music which in most of the cases is ridiculous to even look at

killer drummer., thats why I choose ray as my Idol :)
metal drummers never get enough recognition
A really great drummer. Very underrated. A shame that korn isn't a band for the types of stylish and unique drummers like this guy
I do not see your problem! Most metal drummers are better than pop, jazz ect. What would he play? justin bieber
Tacoon100 Sorry, but did you just say most metal drummers are better than jazz drummers?! Haha!!!!!
pretty sure Jay Postones, Matt Halpern, Travis Orbin, and of course, Matt Gartska are all better than a vast majority of jazz drummers.
djent is totally a genre Yeah, I agree to an extent. I wouldn't say they're better than the vast majority, they're certainly incredible players though.
+Tom Hall AHAHAHAHHA, this guy above clearly doesn't know anything about drums.
yes i love the sound of the bell
For anyone interested its called the "Soundwave Technique" and its basically playing with the soundwaves that project off the cymbal. Its an old big band technique from the Krupa/Rich days. Luv Ray!
Very tasteful. Drums sound good too. Man has it
i swear that Ray is my former lead vocalist's long lost twin !..eerie !
That looks like a pearl masters kit..and yeh ray is a very talented drummer you can see with every move every single motion is smooth he utilizes every part of the kit all motions on all of the kit are precision and precise..just like running water..
I LOVE THAT RIDE :3
I want to hug him.
Shiny hair dude
Totally agreed, I have taken quite a few chops from him so far
that blast beat was sick!
pure example that you don"t need a lot of drums to sound amazing!!!!
Ese tipo es un capo
Best in the world !
ME TO, I ´VE NEVER BEEN A KORN FAN BUT HE´S A GREAT GREAT DRUMMER ^^
solid dude.👍
Just remember Ray, this is a video for Sabian, not Pearl. Other than that, freakin' jaw-dropping performance on the kit from Ray!
So fucking AMAZING!!!!!!
🔥🔥🔥🔥😍
double bass from Van Halen's 'hot for teacher' at 2:40
Excellent...and even if you don't remember me you know Jason Brunk
Yeah now that was impressive.
Why is the aero crash so tight? Stunning talent, regardless,
Ray is way too good for Korn. I'm a guitarist but even I can tell this guy is on another level. Really love his style...so unique and refreshing.
Esse cara faz coisas na bateria parece de ontro mundo tocar muitoooooooo............
Yes, his kit sounds great. It's hard to complain about a Pearl Reference setup. The Sabians complement the kit very well.
Genio
so musical...
2:21 AMAZING
That HHX Control Crash is fucking tasty.
FUCKIN LOVE THE BEAT @ 3:03 SO AWESOME!!!
Makes you wonder how Lars Ulrich became a household name.....
Master

Ray's drumming is amazing. He took Korn to a much hire level than Dave ever could have. Plus, he's just a great guy!!
He just likes it this way, he explained it in another Sabian video.
Korn is lucky to have him,

Actually on-contrair, they sometimes get to much recognition, specially the ones who are popular, like Lars Ulrich.... yeah! i like only 3 korn songs but this drummer rocks!
Am I the only one who wants to send Ray a bottle of shampoo?
