I said that on the last video. If they are comfortable, and you like them. New rubber soles would last a long time… I have had several pairs repaired over the years.
Maybe you are unaware, but good ol’ comfy boots can be resoled by a cobbler if you can find one. New boots are great, but you can’t beat the feeling of a broken-in pair! Keep up the good work, I really like your videos. -CF
I love a woman who gets her use out of her boots and spends her money where it counts, on her cars! But a big thumbs up to those new boots and those jeans.
Drive around to warm up the trans. Park on a level surface and leave the engine running. Go through each gear selection and end in park. Pop hood. Pull dipstick and wipe clean. Put dipstick back in. Pull dipstick back out and inspect fluid level on it. Put dipstick back in if level is good.
Enjoying the random video. It's fun to go along with you. Appreciate you sharing your lives. I'm a bit surprised with the Pontiac. It needs to go to the naughty corner and think about what it has done😐. Hi from New Zealand.
07.40, I know that feeling. A few weeks back my C10 the 700r4 trans , the Governor gear cover came off at 70MPH , dumped all the ATF, killed the trans. I live in England and it's super expensive to sort this stuff out over here.
Liking the boots and jeans! I am curious about the gauges in the Tempest....they look pretty sweet! Thanks for the video....always enjoy watching y'all!
Hi guys, sorry to hear about Big Wave. Aren't you suppose to check the transmission level when the car idling in park..? I would drain the old oil out of it and put in new ATF and make sure you don't over fill it.
Olivia, can't you drive the new white 55 that you got???? That car is really nice! Let big wave sit until you fix it. Dany, nice job taking care of your lady, show a lot of class!
Big Wave is just jealous of all the attention the Rum Runner is receiving. Danny is like me. I wouldn't let anyone buy my girl cowboy boots either. I'd donate the contributions to building a new dragstrip like the one in Hawaii.
New boots, new jeans. You look good in anything though. I was afraid you didn't know how jeans are supposed to worn with boots but you I see you do and damn, those jeans you tried on are perfect. Boots and skirts/dresses look good also. I'm sure you know all of this.
I commented below but I'll reiterate; check the trans fluid after driving and while the engine is still running. So be careful under the hood. Plus, I think you need a new torque converter. Good luck.
If you want to hang on to those sentimental kickers, send em' over to Charlotte (Michigan) Shoe Repair. They've re-healed and reconditioned mine several times.
If you are not getting over 200 degrees, you should not hurt the transmission, but the cooler you run them the longer they last as long as everything else is in order. Heat kills automatic transmissions, and real high temps can kill them in just a few minutes.
Check the transmission plug - sometimes fluid gets in there if the o ring fails. solenoid maybe. maybe the shifter linkage got loose and its hanging between gears. i hate transmission stuff! good luck - nice boots!!!!
Good luck with the road runner, because when you shit a camshaft it is likely that it has caused contamination of the oil to the point where it has likely already carried metal to the bearings in the lower end and cam bearings.
Great video, liv you would looks beautiful in anything, love your boots and jeans, great job Danny taking care of your girl, she's one in a million, take care of her, lots of love from pa ❤❤❤
I think on an automatic transmission like that you have to check it somewhat warm like driving 10 or 15 minutes put it through the gears put it back in to park and let it idle and check it that way and every time you add some, I believe you have to go back through the gears And in park the engine at idle…
The auto transmission I get up host drain transmission oil I think it have filter inside new gasket oil check give it good look at it see if you see any thing I love cars and working on them since I hurt my back I can’t really do much. Good luck with both cars. Go run runner ❤
I had a similar issue to yours with my 4l80e. I swapped a 4l80e into an early 70s Chevy g-series van. While driving along, my speedometer would drop to zero, and the transmission controller would then downshift as it was seeing the incorrect speed. It would take a few seconds and then shift normally. My issue ended up being the internal harness leaking past the o-ring, which acts as a seal as the harness goes from the inside to the outside of the transmission case. This allowed ATF to seep into the main harness plug, which was interrupting the connection.
Sorry about the trans in the Tempest.. BUT.. Looks like you guys are really moving forward on the Black Dodge.. Really Hope you two make the race @ Bakersfield.. Good luck
I loved Olivia,'s New boots, brown is cool but I really liked the red! I watched the redwood rally episodes and really liked woodburn footage. I live about 40 miles from there. Sorry about rum runner.
If you come to a complete stop put in neutral and then back into drive and then take off and see if it works correctly. If it's okay when you put it in neutral and then back into drive when your stopped. Then it is possible that you have a high pump pressure issue caused by performance pressure regulator boost valve. Try lowering the idol to 650or625rpm in Drive then re- check/test drive.
Keep an eye on those "Cute" squirrels, they love to chew on wire harnesses and make nest under the Hood. Had one chew up my fuel injection harness on a super duty.🙄
Regarding the boots. Take or send your old worn-in boots to a cobbler. Ima guess 70 bucks to have them back with new leather soles and looking like new.
Get a pressure gauge on the trans and see what your line/apply pressures are. That will help tell you if your looking at a mechanical failure or something electrical. I'm not terribly familiar with the aftermarket controllers but I would think it would show some type of code/error if there was an electrical issue providing that it can read PID's for whatever it is seeing. Hoping for the best for ya. If you need further input, you might want to hit up RIchard at Precision transmission in Texas. They have a UA-cam channel and the man is an absolute god when it comes to performance transmissions.
It seems like it is a real chore to find anyone that actually knows what they are doing when they build these overdrive transmissions, or even regular transmissions for that matter, that they don't charge a fortune to rebuild one. I will tell you that these electronic , or 'E' transmissions won't change gears properly if they are low on fluid.
When you guys go to Bakersfield, for the race, talk to Mike and Kristy ,they will be parked right by the pit gate area in there big rig 18 wheeler red with Mikes Transmission on the side, just past the track garages, and see what he says about your transmission, Liv, Danny , Mike andKristy are good people , tell them I told you, ok thanks BigAl California is
Olivia you couldn't get those boots re soled? I love the embellishments on your old pair. I do like your new choice, and the jeans are on point. No to the hooker boots 😂
Why are you checking transmission oil without the engine running, with the engine running the transmission pump is turning and giving you a correct oil level
I have noticed the Tempest and rum runner that you are running a Wilwood master cylinder. I would like to ask, how do you rate the breaking compared to power brakes, and what size bore inside the master cylinder. A few years back I converted my 1966 Pontiac GTO to Power disc brakes in the front. I can tell you from experience. The bore makes a huge difference if you’re running a booster or not I’m assuming your current master cylinder has a 7/8 bore
have your old boots resoled at shoe repair shop
Good luck finding a shoe repair shop!
I said that on the last video. If they are comfortable, and you like them. New rubber soles would last a long time… I have had several pairs repaired over the years.
Good choices Olivia on your boots and jeans. 👌 👍 👏 🙂
I personally enjoy the random videos! It's a really nice mix and keeps your channel interesting in my humble opinion:)

New boots are great, but you can’t beat the feeling of a broken-in pair!
Keep up the good work, I really like your videos.

Yup!!
Hey Danny! Don’t worry about man to man! I’m old enough to be her dad! Boots, tacos, transmissions, whatever it is, enjoy! You two are great together
You're the coolest. Thanks again Craig! We appreciate you watching 👍
I love a woman who gets her use out of her boots and spends her money where it counts, on her cars! But a big thumbs up to those new boots and those jeans.

Yes. I thought everybody knew that. I think their torque converter is going bad.
When you have as many cars that you guys have, it's inevitable that you are going to be working on something all of the time.
Find a boot repair shop and get your old boots resoled for a comfortable spare pair. It's like hot rodding for boots.
Rum Runner....blown up, Big Wave....broke, Hank....still purring 69 years on. More Tri-Five entertainment, please.
Enjoying the random video. It's fun to go along with you. Appreciate you sharing your lives. I'm a bit surprised with the Pontiac. It needs to go to the naughty corner and think about what it has done😐. Hi from New Zealand.
I like ur new boots Olivia. Good thing those boots are made for walkin! cause you gonna be walkin now girl! 😂😂😂
When you buy a flexible dipstick, next you are buying a transmission. Allstar 69118 is a locking dipstick metal tube that accepts a regular funnel.
Hey I believe she needs all star 69119 dipstick it’s for Ls engine , but shout out to your channel Sean .
@@davidcallahan5157 I put a thread insert into the unused LS bellhousing bolt hole.
Get the old boots resolved for spares😮
my dog went nuts when you blew that Coyote call
Glad to see you new boots liv❤great job Danny Red perfect 👌

Love the into - that is 100% what the comments were about.
Danny & Olivia: You 2 got it going on for yourselves at Gnarly Speed Shop.
I like seeing mid week shorts lol
The trans issue sounds a lot like the one Derek at VGG had with Cat Farm. Maybe he’d be a good resource to help with diagnosis. Boots looks great!
Liking the boots and jeans! I am curious about the gauges in the Tempest....they look pretty sweet!

Not ready for the car n Olivia man you gotta step it up yo. 😆😆 LETS GO CMON. Lol

Manual shift it from first, Back in the day I ran mid to low 10s manually shift the trans, and it had a shift kit. Always get a big Trans cooler. 😎
Nice work guy should’ve waited some boots and jeans. Awesome.
Smart girl, gets her moneys worth out of her shoes.
Great video, liv you would looks beautiful in anything, love your boots and jeans, great job Danny taking care of your girl, she's one in a million, take care of her, lots of love from pa ❤❤❤
the speed sensor is an external part at the end of transmission by the driveshaft. It' inexpensive an easy to replace. I recommend you get an ACDelco.
RESOLE!!!!!

This is a sign to resurrect Stinky Cheese. Can never have too many 56's.

I Love All your content I think you guys do Amazing things and it inspires me
I think Danny should get you pair of boots for you and then use that extra money for some crazy boots. You really want, and get a second pair.
love your new boots olivia
Now you know why I don't want any automatic transmissions.
Just resole those old boots
Mid week videos are great, but don't break cars to get them. Lol
Can Craig follow us too? Fasher needs a new pair of shoes
Always try on left boot first. The left foot is usually slightly larger than right foot.
Yay!! Extra video!! Thanks!!!
Don't be embarrassed,I wear shoes until the soles are falling off of them, then I glue them back on until the glue doesn't work anymore!
Get new boots but take the old ones to a shoemaker and get new soles and heels on them. You won't regret it. 😂
Olivia, have your current boots re-soled, they're already broken into your feet....

Was thinking about it Danny it's probably a speed sensor going out for the servo pump
‘Livia…here in Texas, we call boots with that kind of toe “roach killers”.
I started using the Blueprint octane booster a few months ago on my 396, that stuff works extremely well.
Good to hear! Can't wait to try it
@@GnarlySpeedShop Higher octane does not make more power. It lets you run more compression and or more timing which will impact power.

Craig is a legend 😂
I bet the modulator is leaking internally. It's hot a diafram like a mechanical fuel pump.😊
The white one are hoochie momma boots 😂
It is of my opinion that you only post what you want to post, as it is your channel...✌
Yes keep your old boots. Just have them resold.
You can get your favorite boots resoled.
Bad modulator valve will allow fluid into vacuum hose and burn the fluid, but not sure if that transmission has that valve or not
I had that happen with an older transmission, the sensor went on the side of transmission and was burning fluid off thru the exhaust
I’ll see you guys there
2:48 she is ready 💀💀💀💀💀💀
I just put a aod in my 71 mustang I rebui it my self an set the pressures you can do it Dan an olivia I have confidence in you two
Olivia you couldn't get those boots re soled? I love the embellishments on your old pair.
I do like your new choice, and the jeans are on point. No to the hooker boots 😂
I was thinking the same thing, get the old ones resoled.
If you still got the green 56 chevy swap out the trans into big wave and send that one off to transmission shop.
You film it. I will watch it!
0:22."I've been walking around on these".
Olivia, contrast to Nancy Sinatra; those boots AREN'T made for walking at the moment.
I think I would try a new modulator, the shift spring might have broken
There is a spring in the modulator that the vacuum makes the shift change
Old school 400 and TH 400!
My 4L80E the factory dipstic also hard to read, I had to rewatch cuz I forgot my like and comment 😮 the least I can do☮️
M21 4spd ... cures all slushbox issues.
Boot barn lancaster, nice, the same town of miss midnight maverick lol on UA-cam channel California
Should be some lizard or snake skin or alligator, nice, lol thanks BigAl California
You know you can have them old boots resoled. Even have workboot rubber soles put on.
5!? Ah that's nothing I thought it was more lol those are ok but keep shopping..lol
You should’ve edited in a “new boot goofin” from Reno 911 in there. 😁
Why are you checking transmission oil without the engine running, with the engine running the transmission pump is turning and giving you a correct oil level
I got my boots resoled, once their broken in.. their hard ro replace..beside new ones being cheap leather or man made leather with plastic soles.
I have noticed the Tempest and rum runner that you are running a Wilwood master cylinder. I would like to ask, how do you rate the breaking compared to power brakes, and what size bore inside the master cylinder. Factory dipsticks are available, from a silverado or sierra.
I always have my boots rebsoled
also cut some slots in you dip stick to catch more oil.
You can have those boots resoled
Could be shift seiond, should be able to scan it for codes
