Hi James, absolutely wonderful video as always, two magnificent looking mountains. The shot of the clouds whipping across the bealach was brilliant. Thank you for sharing your day again, all the best, Dave
As usual James a beautiful video. Wow it looked cold up there but you have been really lucky with the weather this year, let's hope that continues next year.
Looking great in the wintry conditions! Ben More and Stob Binnein were the second and third mountains I ever climbed (after Snowdon), I had no idea that they were famously steep and difficult!!
Charlie McCartney is twice my age and does these two and the two across the valley like it’s nothing, he’s a beast. Ben more and Stobinian in one day was enough for me 😂
Excellent video James. Views looked incredible. Looking forward to doing these myself. It's only just over a hours drive for me. Was gonna try and hold off for summer/spring for this one. But weather looks good for Tuesday. Again cracking video. Can't wait to see what you get up to next.
I've done both during lockdown. That was the best time for hillwalking. You'd meet one or two people at most. I remember heading up was rough, long and boring. But the views were worth it. Also at that time there was no path higher up but every few metres or so there was a MASSIVE sturdy bag full of rocks because there was an ongoing project to build it. They must have been flying those bags in with helicopter, no way people could drag them up. So I assume now it's bit less tiresome with rocks to step on.
Thanks for your video! Do you guys think late October weather is suitable for hiking Ben More? We've summited Morgenberghorn (2249 m) with 1300 m incline, guess this one should be alright. But of course the weather is crucial!
Thigh screaming ascent. Did it in 2006 and loved the views but by God they didn’t really change until the top. I would add that from my classroom in Port Glasgow, you can see Ben Lomond, Ben Mor and Stob Binniean clearly. 16 miles and 32 miles as the crow flies!
@@ScottishMunroJourney aye ye the furthest away ones a bit boggy. But aye I had a brill. Camp. Got footage up somewhere in my channel. Older videos probably x
Me and my brother are looking for a mountain climb to do over the summer holidays before Uni. We have walked a handful of tall mountains before so have a bit of experience. With that in mind, would the climb up Ben More (and possibly the extended to Stob Binnein if we are fast) be considered a safer climb or is there a lot that can go wrong?
Hi, amazing video as always Planned to walk both of Friday but unfortunately only managed one Ben More plenty of snow on the top from you’re video, coming down Ben More was a challenge in the wet snowy grass but made the decision to miss out Stob Bennein I headed down the path back to the car, path being very boggy had a couple of slips 😅 but a great 4 hours in the bank and my 15th Munro ticked off
Hi, they are the Revolution Race GP Pro - great trousers for Summer/Autumn conditions, I use them pretty much all year round apart from the worst winter conditions 😁 Cheers, James
Excellent yet again! 👍. That did look blooming cold though. Well done. 👍 Do you know which mountain will be number 282 yet? Are you saving one for last?
Thank you, it was a cold one! I have a few but it all depends on weather etc, An Teallach, Ladhar Bheinn & Ben More (Mull) seem to be good options 😁 Cheers, James
Well done Jamesy my man! Excellent vid once more. Yes Ben More on Mull is a popular finisher. Your've come on leaps and bounds during your journey. I'd love to meet you on the hill one day. All the best, Jimmy.
Did Ben More and got soaked. Chickened out of Stob Binnien in the mist. Judith Ralston's fault: she said the rain would be to the north. Got back to the car which was in 6 inches of water. I had parked in the low point of the lay by. Aargh! Did Stob Binnien from the south a year later. That is steep, but nor impossible.
I accidentally did a winter ascent of Ben More. And I forgot my crampons. There were parts where I was CRAWLING UP on ice-covered snow :) That was cool (...not :))
They are both killers and well worth it. On a good day the views are amazing but the crianlarich weather is sully brutal. There’s no easy day down there. I took an Israeli couple off the summit of more two years ago both hopelessly lost and poorly equipped. Was glad I met them as no one else was out that day. Lovely people. Just not prepared.
Might try panning the views instead of talking them. Make it more like being there, from your POV, and save time setting camera to get you in the frame.
It's been a while since me and Vinnie, pedigree Staffordshire Terrier, made it to Stob Binnein. It was woof's first Munro so is on Mutts on Munros Walk Highlands. As it should be. ATB James and thanks.
I have a few pairs for different conditions, this time of year im using La Sportiva Trango Towers.. but through Spring/Summer I use the La Sportiva TX4 Mid boots 😁 I have narrow feet and they seem to be a good fit. Hope that helps, Cheers, James
Really enjoyed this, sitting at home recovering from my Tibia Plateau fracture on my 200th, Murnro Carn Eighe.
Thank you & good luck for your recovery - Carn Eighe is a stunning mountain 😁
A great pair of munros, can see them from Edinburgh on a clear day, they dominate the southern highland views
Beautiful scenes! I love these hills and it's nice to see them in frosty conditions.

O James, I would have thought a 9? Thanks, as always, great pictures
I've just stumbled across your channel, great video, just what I'm looking for, keep it up 👍
Just down from Ben More today, found it the most terrifying descent of the Munros I’ve done so far!
Lovely James, thank you, two super mountains.
Thanks for watching 😁
As usual James a beautiful video. Wow it looked cold up there but you have been really lucky with the weather this year, let's hope that continues next year.
Great video, superb views. Certainly two greats and enough for me in one day that’s for sure. Many thanks for sharing.
I enjoy your videos. The views are always amazing when you reach the top. Please stay safe, cheers

As always, another great video

Truth! I did Ben More back in May and was up and down in under four hours... that was plenty for me, and what a wonderful day for it as well.
Charlie is nuts! I hope to be able to hike even a little like he does when I get to his age!
@@CallousSonnallous he has done all the munros… 6 times!!!
Well done James
Ben More in Mull was a sod. Starting at sea level.
"Mill of the Cool High Ben's."
Nice one 🏔️ Beautiful view
Brilliant as always 👏🏻💪🏻
I also climbed these last week! A good foot of snow for the last 200 meters on Ben More to add to the fun!
I had a feeling there would be more snow after I had been up, would definitely add to the excitement 😁 Cheers, James
You’re right about the steepness of those two! I did them earlier this year.
Nnice job. Appreciated. Looking forward to some winter ones.
Crackin video James. I climbed Ben cruachan and Stob daimh on Halloween, the wind was wicked there aswell but the views were brilliant 👍🏻
Well done mate had sore legs watching that was up them last month
It is a brutal start to a walk 😂

Nice one James - you must have calves of steel, to manage that ascent!
Aye I remember that steep push up🥵! Crackin hills though 👍🏻

Went up this one week for a winter hike following week i was pitched up it hahaha nice video mate
Bet there is some good pitches on either summit 😁 next time I do them i’ll probably camp 😁

Its safe in the right conditions, it should be clear of snow and ice so pick a good day and you will be fine - enjoy 😁🏔

Sensible decision 😁 I bet these would be tough in wintery conditions.. Cheers, James
@@ScottishMunroJourney thanks 👍🏼
What’s the app or whatever you use for the Munro map and route on your videos ?
Hi James, can you tell me about the pants you are wearing please? Are they winter weight or would they be OK for hiking in a Scottish Summer?

Ladhar Bheinn is a cracking route in the right conditions, highly recommend!

Got to check the mountain forecast 😉

That would be tough!
Great video James, looked absolutely freezing though. You should try wearing a hat!
Haha I actually run pretty hot so dont usually wear a hat, but this was pushing it 😂❄️
Is it possible to get to this Munro via public transport??
Not 100% sure on that one! Probably train to Crainlarich is the best way. Cheers, James

Ben More (Perthshire) definitely a very steep mountain.
One if the steepest most direct ascents 😁
Another superb video. Do you mind if I ask what drone you use for that footage it really is spectacular.
Thank you, I use the Air2s 😁
