Now, if only the starting point was on a bus route, I'd probably have managed that, 15 or 20 years ago... Wonderful camera work, as always, with such lovely panoramic views. Loch Rannoch has some sandy beaches near its western end by the way, and is great for swimming in, too!
Always remember climbing this with a mate and thinking how great we were only to have a guy with a mountain bike strapped to his back go running past 3/4 of the way up...really put things in perspective lol
Like it! I also climbed it with a Mate about Twenty Years ago! Thought We were only people on it until We caught up to two ladies Mother and Daughter! We were still on Grassy part before boulder field when a gust of Wind caught the Mother and blew Her off Her feet! Mate charged over to assist Her as I turned away Crying with laughter!
Not being the fittest, I remember sitting down about three quarters of the way up Catbells in the Lakes (purely to admire the beautiful view you understand..#cough…) and a bloke ran up past me with a cheery “Good morning…” Must have been 60 years old if he was a day 😂😂
Love your work mate, every time you post the great views I feel it in my DNA. Counting down the days til Hubby and I get over there Jan 2026. Thanks so much for your AWESOME channel, love from the sunshine state of Queensland, Australia 🇦🇺 👍
What a great channel. Since my EDS has got worse i can't hike anymore but skirt around short trails instead. Seeing the places I used to hike is cool. Greetings from sunny Fife.
Paths as smooth as that one & like you often find in the Cairngorms are superb to walk on. A lot different to the rougher stoney ones I often find in the Lake District. Those boulder fields though.....🥺😁
My last climb to the summit, a while back now, the access path from the Foss carpark, was still a grubby hack through bog till you got onto the shoulder. The summit boulder field had a glazing of ice that day, caution required indeed!! But worth every effort for that view.😊 I believe credit goes to the John Muir Trust for establishing the high-grade path well up towards the summit. The point, of course, is to keep foot traffic away from the most ecologically sensitive areas. Multiple cairns and even signs are not popular in some peoples book!! I recall meeting a group on the hills of Assynt who were engaged in dismantling cairns or boulder piles along the popular access tracks. I suppose they had justification, though it escaped me. Perhaps others might like to comment.??

Nice one! It's a lovely hill especially if you get a reasonable day in winter.
