A little back story about the Demi Lovato song Dancing With The Devil: The music video is a recreation of the night Demi overdosed on heroine that was laced with fentanyl, (back in July of 2018) when her assistant (at the time) found Demi she was lifeless. Demi had almost no pulse and she had three strokes and a heart attack, they are lucky to be alive. She lost her peripheral vision and can't drive anymore because of that. Also if she's looking at your eyes she can't see your nose or your mouth. She also suffered from hearing damage. Demi was raped by her drug dealer and left to die, the clothes she's wearing are very similar to the ones she wore the night she overdosed. The survivor tattoo is covering the scar from the dialysis port that Demi had to have, while she was recovering. Demi has an entire documentary about all of this that I strongly suggest that you watch because it explains everything. The song Anyone (watch the lyric video if you react to this song) was written and recorded three days before Demi OD, it was a cry for help but no one knew that at the time. Demi is lucky to be alive, she's been clean and sober (again) for a little over a year now I think. Before she overdosed she had been clean and sober for six years. But like I said watch the Dancing With The Devil documentary Demi explains everything, you don't have to do a reaction to it you should watch it though. I can give you the names of the videos for the documentary if you want me to, just let me know. You do NOT have to react to the documentary, watch the videos in your own time at your own pace. (Demi's pronouns are They/Them/She/Her)

This is one of Demi’s most well-written, yet underrated songs. The writing is just spectacular, the vocals are flawless, and the story is so important. And people completely slept on this song and the entire album. One of her best songs to date.

the clothes that demi wore in this mv are very very close to the clothes she wore when this whole situation happened. she was very close to death quite literally she was knocking on deaths door. she was also r^ped by her drug dealer and he left her lifeless (that’s what the scene of her in bed is), her assistant at the time found her. demi had almost no pulse, she had a few strokes (i forgot how many), and a heart attack. doctors say that if demi was discovered only minutes later, she most likely wouldn’t have survived. also i believe demi said that her vocal inspiration for this song was Aretha Franklin

    • @tabortoothtiger7580
      @tabortoothtiger7580 Рік тому +3

3 strokes. Which is uh, let's just say, unlivable for most. Especially when followed by a heart attack. They're lucky to be alive and walking. She lost part of her sight and hearing because of it. Which is amazing that it was just her sight and hearing, weirdly enough to say. Most people who have three strokes and a heart attack, if they even survive, will have a lot worse motor functions issues. I'm talking wheelchair bound and several months if not years of physical and other types of therapy. Stories like that make you really think about what's out there protecting certain people. It also makes it incredibly true that when it's your time, it's your time, and when it's not, it's not.

This was all 100% based on the night she overdosed. She wore the same clothes she had on that night in the video, the two people facing the other way at the end of the first verse are her friends who were with her earlier that night, and her naked in the bed was what happened to her as her drug dealer assaulted her. It’s all a retelling of that night. 😢

    2 Crazy Facts.
1: 6:35 I believe this is when Demi had JUST overdosed and the guy (supposedly her dealer at the time) had rap- sexually assaulted her and left her knowing she had OD’d. The women who found her was also her assistant at the time who was just showing up for work.
2: I’m also pretty sure Demi said this part is when she was told by doctors she’s be temporarily blind and her step-sister was comforting her.

On July 24, 2018, Demi Lovato overdosed and nearly died on a dangerous mix of the opioid drugs, heroin and fentanyl.
Despite the friends she held close, and the team of assistants and therapists that monitored her closely, no one was fully aware of her relapse to hard drugs after six years of sobriety.
The person who found Demi Lovato was her assistant and friend Jordan Jackson. She was coming to wake Demi for an appointment, only to find that Demi was unresponsive in her bed. Her entire body was blue. Jackson thought that Demi was dead, but called 911 despite other’s wishes to keep the overdose as secret as possible.
In the hospital, Demi Lovato was administered Narcan, an emergency antidote for opioid overdose. Her doctors told her she only had five to ten more minutes to live.

Demi Lovato is pretty popular for sure either way, but I have to say... I deep dove into her music 2-3 years ago and she is easily my favorite vocalist of this generation and artist in general of this generation. She's got a huge fan base but is SERIOUSLY underrated and I honestly think a lot of people don't give her music a chance because of all the ridiculousness outside of the music like gender, addictions, and her pop music career. She has sooo many corny childish songs from years ago, most of her pop songs, but her truly good music is AMAZING. Everything 2015 and on is absolutely worth deep diving. It's incredible. Not just her unreal vocals and songwriting ability, but the production of the music too is 10/10.

I actually was in a very bad place and was attempting an overdose the same night she actually had one.
Her story and journey has been a real inspiration of mine and knowing you guys don’t have any idea of her pop work let’s you have a very clear perspective.
She was left to die by her dealer. Was there for hours till she was found and her recovery almost never happened multiple times while in the hospital.
From here I really hope you get into the album she just released so you can hear her authentic self that has no strings being pulled by outsiders. She goes in a crazy amount of depth and detail in this album and she will blow you away.
Only after that should you listen to her previous work in my opinion. The album will give you soooo much context as to what was happening behind the scenes during the entirety of her music career up until her OD and change in self direction.
This was so good and it was EVEN BETTER that you stayed away till now. Cuz now you get the real her, off the bat. ❤ thank you guys

As an addict in recovery, I could sing every word the first time I heard this. We dance with the devil and it is fun at first but he always comes to collect - the price is your soul.

I never gave Demi Lovato a chance because I thought i was "too cool" only listening to punk, metal, hip hop etc. As i was going through my own overdose and hospitalization i found this song and it blew my mind. Also helped me get through my hospital stay. She is amazing!!

(have been trying to convince my brother for years lmao) Absolutely would love to see you guys react to her album Holy Fvck or even just the vevo special performances its full of more of this realness/her story and is mostly rock!

Demi has always had an absolutely stuning voice. You should check out the rock version of Heart Attack or go with her really old stuff which was way more rock. Get Back was when she was like 16 and it's one of my favorite songs by her. Skyscraper is really good too.
I would be really interested in hearing your take on Jojo. Some songs I love by her are Like This, FAB, and Fuck Apologies.

I am going to be honest, I was not going to watch this video as this is not my thing but I am so glad that I did as her voice is incredible. I have heard some of her other songs and not a big fan, but I am so glad that I watched this video. What an incredible song and her voice is mesmerizing.
Thank you for doing this, opened a door for me.

Demi is very versatile; her technique, tone, and just voice in general is STUNNING. If you want to hear a chilling yet beautiful song, give Stone Cold by her a listen. It's everything, especially when she sings it live.

My favorite thing about your channel is your willingness to react to things that's not "your lane" of music. That's the tell a true music lover, appreciation for the raw talent v.s. the genre/personal taste. I love watching your videos for this reason
