    I believe I read that when she started to cry in the hospital bed during the filming she said to keep rolling because it was more realistic to how she felt at that time - which always just has me so emotional. Plus that outfit was the actual outfit she wore the night of her OD.

    Speaking of crying and singing, you should react to her Grammy performance of Anyone. Absolutely incredible.

    That scene is exactly what you thought it was. I think it was her drug dealer (I could be wrong) that sexually assaulted her while she was passed out. They wanted to portray it in a non-triggering way that still conveyed the message.

      im not a 100% sure but i think she mentioned that the dd who assaulted her left in the morning and turned her onto her side so she doesnt choke on her vomit cuz he knew she might have an OD from his punched stuff or smth like that

    Her song sober is excellent too. I believe it came out a bit before her od. I'm glad you watched the doc, since it adds a lot of context. I believe her shirt says legalize weed. At the time of this she still smoked and argued that sobriety could include weed. Since then she has decided to give it up and try to be completely sober.

  • @lovelyerica9054

    Her shirt says legally Blind. I remember her saying in the documentary saying that she can no longer drive because she's legally blind. I pray she doesn't fall down this rabbit hole again.

    I’m glad u watched the documentary and the music video. It’s so powerful, she did a wonderful job at delivering such a heartbreaking experience.
    She filmed this in the clothes she was wearing that night. The scene with the bed and the dealer was her SA. I get why they toned it down - it was enough to make me feel uncomfortable.
    This whole album is stunning. It’s a piece of art.

    This song hits so hard and the video even more so! I ended up in an ER in FL after I relapsed while I was at a halfway house there. I don’t really remember anything about it other than I woke up with the sticky heart monitor things on my chest and not knowing what was going on. They told me I was lucky that I didn’t die. I can proudly say that I got clean and sober when I came back home & haven’t used in 7.5 years now. I’m so glad Demi survived and put this very honest song out! There are a lot of people that I’ve known over the years who weren’t as lucky as we were and lost their battle with addiction.

  • @Elle3061995
    @Elle3061995 4 місяці тому +5

    So this song and video wrecked me. She went through so much. And in terms of the SA she experienced, I think her not having to almost relive a part of that for her video is more so because this song is more about her experience with drugs and her OD rather than that horrible experience. She didn't want people to focus on that - so just hinted at it instead.
    That's my interpretation of it at least. Still... So fucking amazing and so incredibly sad.

    I legit seen Demi on tour in Glasgow a few weeks before their OD happened so this MV always hits me bc i love Demi and almost losing them was horrid but also bc they recreated the entire night they OD’d in this video right down to the outfit they’re wearing. It’s so raw and so powerful. I love them so much😭
    Also 1000% need u to react to their first performance back of ‘Anyone’ at the Grammy’s! It’s beautiful

    9:52 maybe that means her vision is blurred for now on (she partially blind, she can't drive).
    the line "i almost made in heaven it was closer than you now" (she almost died that night, when she arrived at the hospital, the doctor said she has 5 minutes to live, she almost didn't make it.
    She was 27 at the time, if she didn't make it that night, she'll be in the "27 club").

    For those who dont know, this video is an exact recreation of the night she OD'd. The man in black rolling her over is the dealer that SA'd her and left her to die. Her survivor tattoo covers the scar from the machine in the beginning.

  • @annika8504
    @annika8504 3 місяці тому

    Her voice getting stronger is kinda like her addiction. First it’s just a little whisper in the back of her head, but then it starts to get stronger and stronger until she can’t control it anymore. And the lies you tell yourself to downplay the issue and make it seem okay is insane.
    She really managed to tell what addiction is, and she did it so beautifully. Super freaking powerful song.

      If SHE thought it was a good idea to do it then, while the memory was fresh, then I would never judge her for it. I really hope it was cathartic for her; maybe that was part of the idea.
      This works GREAT as a cautionary tale, a Public Service announcement, and a conversation starter.
