    Great timing for your video. I just got my 2018 Gt350 back from ford with excessive oil consumption. 600 miles 4 quarts oil they replace the motor. $29,000+ still under warranty.

      @rayofd. Good to hear Ford took care of you oil consumption. I’m going through the same process with my 2018 Gt350.
      With your Gen 1 voodoo oil consumption…. Did Ford get you a Gen2 replacement ?.

    Lots of great info. I have the rear bumper sag issue. I’ll definitely have my vin run to see what other issues it may have

    The amount of money you pay for these cars the panel gaps are horrendous ford needs to fix it!😮

      It’s the sound and how great it drives that leads us to not care about the panel gaps.

    Will there be recalls on the whole engine?

    This is probably about 10% of the TSBs for that car. Loved it, but ford assembled them with zero care. My car came from the factory with the wiring held in place with rubber bands and zip ties because they must have discovered after they installed the powertrain they ran the harness in the wrong position along the subframe.

      There are a lot of SSM's (special service messages) that people often refer to as TSB's but they are not. SSM's are usually just notes that cover common questions and concerns. I noted a common SSM in the description about the piston slap concern, Ford noted that it was normal and no action was required.

      Gotcha. Any reference to the output shaft nut backing out and causing cruise control to not work and bucking during steady throttle with no codes. It was a very common issue that occurred. TSB stated to replace output shaft nut with new one and loctite it in place. Looks like #19-2135

    Hey I just got a whole new engine in my 2017. Should I stick to city driving for the first 100? I mostly do highway driving. Also does it matter if im at 4k rpms in 5th gear vs 2nd gear? Is one better than the other?

    Rings In the 2015-2017 were looser. In 2018 ford changed the rings to make it fit tighter and burn less oil. In 2019+ got the Gen2 block but people forget 2018 got the tighter rings and don’t seem to burn oil as much. It’s not a gen1 to gen2 change that fixed it. It was 2018

    • @EnthusiastsGarage
      @EnthusiastsGarage  Рік тому

      Noted. Couldn't find anything official from Ford and it sounds like they just quietly changed them rather than admitting there was a problem. Ford lists all 2015-2020 GT350 Piston rings as part# GR3Z-6148-C. They note that it supersedes the original part# GR3Z-6148-A.

    unfortunately, i have a 2016 gt350 that didnt come with a warranty, so i cant get a gen 2 motor. Im only burning a quart every 800 miles, but still unfortunate that its almost 30k for a replacement
