I feel like, ironically, gremmy was just an excuse for kubo to flex his creativity and draw some super cool panels
The "Is simply doubled" panel has always been my favorite.
He literally has the power of imagination. An ability like that in theory, you should be able to counter anything.
He can make things appear out of nothingness but that's it. He proved that imagination has it's limits in a world of reality. (I.e: to imagine himself stronger than Zaraki he would have to actually be physically capable of wielding that amount of power). If his imagination had no limits then Ywach wouldnt need to invade Soul Society or the royal palace.

Gremmy is even more impressive when you take into account he was just a brain in a jar. It makes sense that creating bodies and sentient beings was probably his most developed technique with the Visionary since he had to create a body of his own. The Visionary is also a very hard skill to use. Think about it, can you perfectly imagine exact details of objects without writing it down or drawing it? It is actually incredibly hard to perfectly envision and project something from a human mind.
Gremmy could have easily been part of the royal guard for ywach. He just lacked the imagination at its best because he was locked up
@@gammafrost He was too unstable to be a royal guard. He was Not loyal enough and would have been an active risk for yhwach. He was absolutely strong enough though.
Thank you for this video. Gremmy’s power is unbelievable in perspective when you get into it. This is one fight I am excited to see in animation. When I saw Gremmy double himself and summon that meteor, I couldn’t help but laugh because of how insane it was. It was also funny when Bazz-B is surprised and said “What the Hell did Gremmy Do?!” For the anime, it would be interesting to extend the fight, but I want to see Gremmy get expanded like that moment between him and Liltotto’s relationship from CFYOW.

I do like the theory that Gremmy was in fact the Brain of the Soul King, like how Gerard and Pernida were his Heart and Left arm.
It would make sense that the being that is regarded as the most powerful within the world of Bleach, would be the one to possess such a Godly ability.
Although, it is pretty crazy to imagine someone that had both a stronger version of the Almighty, as well as possessing a power like the Visionary. Talk about being as OP as possible!

I'm pretty sure Narita in CFYOW basically almost said it without actually spelling it out, since Tokinada used Gremmy's remains as the core for Hikone due to their special properties with regards to the Soul King.

Gremmy shouldn't have died imo. He had too much potential. I would have written him as a chaotic neutral character who didn't care about the outcome of the war and dipped when he had his fun.

The first weakness of the Visionary you mentioned was actually a contradiction on Gremmy's part. Based on what he said, it'd be assumed that his imaginations need active attention to continue existing, but he has created beings and such. All damage inflicted by Gremmy are imaginations, which means someone he kills or hurts will instantly be revived or healed if he stops thinking about them which isn't true. Gremmy agreed to Kenpachi's hunch about the Visionary because he couldn't comprehend what had happened. We know Yachiru is Kenpachi's zanpakuto so when he touched her, his reiatsu filled her and reversed the effects of the Visionary. You see the Visionary's level of effectiveness diminishes the greater the reiatsu is compared to Gremmy's, so he couldn't exactly manipulate Kenpachi's body the way he did to Yachiru. So when Kenpachi's reiatsu flowed through Yachiru at the moment he touched her, that manipulation which wasn't powerful enough against Kenpachi's reiatsu got reversed. Kenpachi was kind of an idiot to attempt that but I guess you could call it instincts.
The other thing here is when you said Gremmy didn't create a body strong enough for Kenpachi's power. That too was a misinterpretation of his own power. Gremmy's body is an imagination, even being ripped to smithereens, as long as his brain remains, he can create a new body. Gremmy's actual body is that brain, so when he died, it wasn't because he didn't create a body strong enough for Kenpachi's power as the destruction of his body is irrelevant, he died because what he imagined was beyond his capabilities and it overloaded the Visionary. He broke his own powers by imagining something out of his league. He cannot create a being as powerful as Kenpachi. Both Shaz and Guenael cannot compare to Kenpachi. Gremmy physically cannot imagine something as powerful as Kenpachi because that's just outside of his capabilities
If Gremmy truly is the brain of the Soul King, then I wonder how he would stack up against Ichibei's power over names, and I wonder if he, like Mimihagi, is invisible to the Almighty?
At least, Gremmy vs Ichibei would be an interesting fight because could Gremmy imagine his name back or somehow counteract Ichibei's ink?
Before that, he should just imagine Ichibei's zanpakuto is a cookie. Then he's a pushover.

I believe Gremmy’s power can only be used to its maximum when in Soul society or hueco mundo. Being places made of reishi Gremmy’s Quincy nature allowed him to use the battlefield as a fuel for his power. If he was in the world of the living he would’ve a harder time using his Visionary to its maximum output due to only relying on his own spiritual pressure.
Using the power of imagination he can think that he has unlimited spiritual pressure 😭
All the Sternritters were terrified of Gremmy(ch.575 pg.14-15), with the exception of Liltoto because they knew he was the strongest. The light novel"Can't Fear Your Own World"vol.2 ch.15 pg.216, confirms that they all feared him so that they dared not look him in his eyes for fear that he would kill them.
He just lacks battle experience, I don’t like when people call him dumb. Hopefully the anime adds more things for Gremmy to imagine

Quincy uses absorbs reishi to fuel their powers and not reiatsu so slight mistake in the video. Also I believe that the reiatsu law does work and it is why Gremmy cannot directly influence Kenpachi's body. When trying to effect another body, Gremmy's powers is being pushed back by who he's fighting. He needs concentration on that body to maintain the influence and if that concentration is lost, then the body returns to normal. The higher the reiatsu of the enemy, the more concentration needed and easier to break. Creating objects do not require continuous attention so they linger such as the giant stage and meteor. Lastly, if Gremmy is the brain of the soul king as most people and CFYOW seem to imply, then the visionary power was already part of the brain and it wasn't given by Yhwach much like the miracle and compulsory.
Just one problem. He directly killed a captain immediately after his first appearance.
His power probably isn't bound by the reiatsu law, since the reiatsu is weaker than what holds the world together, the world itself can bypass it entirely, allowing him to simply ignore the difference in strength.

Gremmy is constantly a child because only children have the most imagination.
I am still certain that prior to Gremmy’s death the Almighty was unable to alter or changing the future. I believe the Visionary was an ability inherent to Gremmy, and that is why Ywach turned it into a schrift, so that he could absorb it and “complete” the Almighty as we saw it to be in the final battles
It was evident from the fight that his visionary shrift had many limitations like how he can't imagine someone dead and before he changed yachirus bones into cookie he had to touch her first kenpachi was a lot faster than gremmy so he couldn't keep up with him he ultimately died due to his inability to imagine a vessel strong enough to hold kenpachis power
Not to mention he had to duplicate himself to conjure up a meteor... that got destroyed immediately by kenpachi 😂 gremmy honestly felt like a push over, he had so much potential tho
He killed 2 vizards with his imagination, he blocked one of Yachirus attacks saying he needed to do it to turn her to cookies is a stretch

Gremmy is such a fun character and almost certainly the strongest Sternritter in my eyes.
As a testament to his power, remember that his only real shortcoming in battle is a lack of experience, but he can’t even gain any because his own Sternritter comrades are so scared of him that they insist on locking him up away from everyone else during peacetime.

If Gremmy imagined the Miracle not working and then imagined Gerard dying it would happen.
Gerard died many times before, the miracle is just as broken if not more broken than the visionary. If someone for example disables the miracle, the miracle would cancel that because that is simply "miraculous"
No, that's not working. Gerard is the strongest sternritter because he is a piece of the soul king himself. Miracles would persist through anything including imagination.
The only way Gremmy could kill Gerard is with his space trap because that will effectually cut off Gerard from his source of power, that being reishi(ch.547 pg.11). Outer space doesn't have reishi because it's only found in the atmosphere of Soul Society along with it's structures and surroundings. Hueco Mundo also has an abundance of reishi(ch.49 pg.3, ch.245 pg.15)but space has no atmosphere to contain the reishi. No reishi means no fuel to power The Miracle.

The universe is extremely rich in energy bro. A quincy will be in heaven if he gets out of earth into space. It's massively abundant there. So an opponent should never make that mistake sending a quincy into space.

The biggest hate on this character is he's a kid that didn't have battle experience and just wanted a fun time against Kenpachi but I don't see many willing to actually going to fight someone that can just imagine things into existence
I'd like to think Gremmy was the 4th member of the Schutzstaffel of Yhwach before Askin replaced whoever it was. I have a feeling though it may have been Pepe based off the group Sternritter photo. Pernidas, Gerard, and Lille are in the back on that platform along with Pepe having his back turned.
Liltoto shrift "G" is also an ability that she can eat any being and use the power of that being like if he can eat gremmy it will grant her to use gremmy's shrift.
So Gremmy was originally a brain, I wonder how that conversation with Yhwach went?
The Visionary is definitely a top tier power however just like Tozens death if the body cant handle that power it will destroy you. The battle was great and i am excited to see it animated.

Gremmy can create many things outside of his body because there's no limit, but he can't create something like Aizen's reiatsu unless he also imagine his body is capable of sustaining such a power. So he can create a box of water around Kenpachi that has the pressure and dense enough to crush his body, but he didn't. I don't think he can imagine he was immortal or become a god because he can't define or understand it.
His reality bending power coupled with Zaraki's durability and berserker power made their clash exceptionally entertaining. The battle of the OP monsters. Telling that even Yhwach was wary of him enough to keep him isolated. That alone is saying something.

Gremy is honestly very weird in his usage of the ability.
He is clearly able to modify himself with it.
So why not imagine himself with a transcendent mind capable of imagining everything at once?
Or, a incredibly detailed hivemind which would boost his ability to maintain what he imagines by hundreds of MILLIONS of times.
It is hard to say what Gremmy can’t do when it is shown he is able to will his thoughts into existence. It seems he is literally able to create his thoughts since he created Chazz domino out of nothing. Being able to create a pocket dimension or a meteor destructive enough to destroy soul society is top tier levels of power in bleach. Because of who defeated him and hearing that Gremmy was basically kept locked up for ages, it is easy to accept Gremmy’s defeat but given his display of power it should be near impossible to actually kill him. He should have been even harder to kill than Gerard or Lillie

I remember my first time reading the manga, never read what others were thinking, but I remember thinking Gremmy seemed like the strongest. The miracle, while super strong of course, felt more like a very strong punching bag 😂 He seemed more like a test dummy for others to show how powerful they had gotten. I don't remember being too impressed with Lille, but after seeing more on him thinking he was much stronger than I gave him credit for. I was super confused about jugram, and was even more confused when ishida fought him 😂.

The Visionary along with The Almighty are broken. Gremmy was able to use his imagination to it a reality and the fact Gremmy is a literal brain and yet pulls off amazing feats is incredible. The drawback is it requires high concentration for the power to be truly effective. His mistake is imagining having a higher Spirit Energy than Kenpachi however didn't have the body nor training to handle that much power.

His power is the most broken ability in the series. He was it's only limitation. Just imagine one of the three main scientists having such a power. Either one of them would literally be the God of bleach without even having to remove/replace the soul king. That would be a power beyond anything in existence.
Gremmy's power is one of the strongest abilities in anime world, yet Kubo gave him a true weakness that makes him not impossible to beat. Kubo is not the best mangaka ever, but some of his story plots are genius when you analize them.

Gremmy not having battle experience is misinformation that has been in the fandom for years and is easily disprovable. In ch.574 pg.8, Gremmy tells Kenpachi"people like you are unable to understand my power until they they lose". How would Gremmy know that Zaraki is like those people unless he'd already fought and defeated people like that? Gremmy has battle exp.
It's because Gremmy just kills anyone in his way, and never had to prove he was the strongest until Kenpachi.

It's not that Gremmy "failed" to create a body capable of enduring Kenpachi's strenght, Gremmy himself admits his imagination fell short against Kenpachi's power, and only Kenpachi himself could handle such power. Gremmy's reiatsu limits were far below Kenpachi's and that's why he died. I mean, the character himself said it.
Nah the strongest are Lille and Gerard. The Visionary is OP but its drawbacks are crazier (feelings of doubt or fear are capable of making Gremmy kill himself)
use by someone with no imagination.. useless...now give that power to Urahara or Aizen... unimaginable
