ive used a ton of rapid pla+ and it has been the easiest for me to work with. Not to mention I found it much more durable because it has a bit more flex vs brittle.
Love to hear your experiences with the pla pro over time!
I apologize if i missed it in the video, i know you liked rapid the best, but what would you rank them from best to worst?
In terms of print quality, I would say: Rapid PLA+, PLA Pro, PLA+, then PLA. There was almost no difference between PLA+ and Pro, but they were both a TEENY bit better than standard PLA
@@The-Star-Forge thanks for the speedy reply! Elegoo is running a buy 4 get 1 free sale atm but only for pla, so while they are all the same price per spool at $14 before the discount, it drops much lower for pla.
So for $11.2 per roll for normal pla and
14.4 for rapid would you say its worth the price? I dont plan on printing fast at all.
Also one more question, how hard is the pla? Does it feel hard and sturdy or does it have a little give?
For those prices I would probably take the normal PLA! It feels just as solid as any other PLA, overall rigidity will really depend on how many/how thick your walls are and what your infill looks like

What is the slicer do you use?
I ask as i get really ugly Prints with the eleggo rapid PLA+ on my Neptune 4 standard.
I use Orca as slicer and hat no problems with the eleggo PLA or PLA+
I indeed use Orca, absolutely LOVE it and have way less issues than I did with Cura
what I thought was weird about the ELEGOO filament is that the density is 1.20g/cm³ instead of the usual 1.24g/cm³ with most other brand spools. Now, how much of a difference that will make I doubt is very negligible, but ya never know...
One that I really enjoyed was from CC3D in Silk Sapphire Blue PLA .. It has a nice shiny/metallic color to it, but without an abrasive additives..
what material do you use for the visor?
This is a welding visor cut using the template included in the files!

I typically print it at 220C hotend and a 55C bed!

Allegedly, the Q1 Pro that I'm gonna pick up from my local USPS office today (WooHoo!) is capable of 600mm/s. I'll grab a roll of Rapid PLA+ and see how it actually performs.

Can you make a "Heat resistent" test with PLA Pro compared to the other ?
Is it enough to stand the sun ?
The Elegoo Rapid filaments are my go to for my P1S and X-Plus 3. The Rapid PETG is just over $10 a spool when you order 4 at a time and its great! Not many PETG's can be printed faster than 12mm3/s without issues and I'm able to get 25mm3/s with Elegoo's. I also like their Rapid PLA+ but I wish they sold the colors in bulk and for the same price as the black and white. Its really hard to find reliable colored filament at a decent price
I did a test with several Elegoo White Filaments for a large print project. Like with paint, there are many different shades and tones of white. I was looking for a bright white with a soft finish vs a crisp finish to hide layer lines. I was printing a large number of Hexagon on Hexagon Sound Diffusion panels from Printables. I found the Elegoo Matte White had the softest finish but was very muted in it's white color, almost gray next to other whites like it was lacking pigment. Elegoo white Rapid PETG was very bright white but was too crisp and showed the layer lines too well (I really like the Rapid PETG and would have liked to use it as it was the lowest cost filament and prints well). Elegoo White PLA pro was the brightest white PLA but was also very crisp and showed layer lines too well. Elegoo White Rapid PLA + had a nice bright white with a decent softness hiding most of the layer lines and that is what I went with for my project. I have been ordering in 4 packs on Amazon but when they ran out of 4 packs I ordered some 2 packs and I did have an issue with one batch of the 2 packs where the white was way off and it looked like the color of the Elegoo Matte PLA. The date code was (1-2311-1130) I contacted Elegoo and they replaced that filament.
I think white is probably the hardest color to keep consistent between batches of filament, I've had that issue so many times where two different white spools from the same brand from different batches look completely different
@@The-Star-Forge Yes, that looks to be the case. I have printed 34Kg of Elegoo Rapid White PETG and had not noticed any color difference between spools but with the PLA it seems to vary at least a little which I can understand but that one batch was just so different to all of the other spools. Fortunately it turned out to be a problem Elegoo had with that one Batch and when Amazon got 4 packs in again, I ordered more and the subsequent orders have all been fine.
You should take the time to get high quality B-Roll shots of the parts you want to compare so that we can physically see what you're talking about. Waving them around willy nilly gives us no way to relate what you're saying. Dont forget that listening is second to watching on youtube, not the other way around. We want to SEE it. Show it please. And show it beautifully. Im guilty of not doing to right, myself.
Appreciate the feedback! I had taken some B-Roll shots but they weren't really good at highlighting the details I was mentioning and I was trying to get this done on a Sunday night before the work week started 😂 I actually ordered a self-spinning display plate to use for this in the future!

I have the elegoo saturn 2, it was my very first 3d printer if you are interested in resin I highly recommend!
Also I recently got the neptune 4 plus. And I loved it until it just broke lol. Lesson learned tighten your hot end up from time to time 😅
I've been LOVING my Neptune 4 Max! I've been looking at the new Saturn to replace my Halot-One and it's VERY tempting!

Sadly they were out of stock when I was making my order for this video :( I thought about waiting but Matte and Silk PLA need different settings for printing so I was trying to stick with all their "normal" PLA's!
