- $69 Uber Ride CHERRY PICKED at $221| Step-By-Step Tips | Ep. 12
Find out why I turned down six rides before scoring a big fat $69 cherry? Watch and find out the secrets to cherry picking the best rides! Its planning not luck. Stick around till the end to find out how much uber took in commercial auto insurance and Uber service fee and you will be shocked.
In this episode of "The Art of Cherry Picking," I start by dropping off a customer in Rancho Bernardo, taking us from $152 to $221 in four trips. I then head to John Wayne Airport, where I wait for about an hour and a half, strategizing to get a ride back towards San Diego.
I go through the Uber driver app, showing the California regulatory requirements and explaining how I use ChatGPT to simplify the new contract. Early morning at John Wayne Airport is ideal for cherry-picking, so I patiently wait for the right offer. My game plan includes taking rides towards Ontario, Corona, Murrieta, Temecula, Laguna Beach, or Oceanside to eventually return to San Diego.
Throughout the morning, I reject several offers: $10 Comfort ride, $22 Uber XL double offer, $21 Uber XL ride, and others that didn’t meet my criteria. Finally, I score a $69 Comfort ride with a 5.0-rated customer, taking 1 hour and 24 minutes to travel 75 miles to Rancho Bernardo.
During the ride, I share tips on creating a better passenger experience by moving closer to the airport and avoiding distracted driving. I discuss the importance of using Google Maps alongside Uber navigation to avoid toll roads and incorrect routes.
After dropping off the passenger, I analyze the ride's earnings: the customer paid $151, but Uber took $61 in service fees, $19 for commercial auto insurance, and $4 for an airport fee, leaving me with $69 before tips. I note a pattern where Uber charges higher fees for rides to upscale destinations.
The video concludes with a teaser for the next episode, where I'll reveal the tip and continue sharing cherry-picking strategies. Stay tuned to see how I end the day with $345 in seven trips!

You go, Ahmed! The truest UBER god in SoCal 💯
💯 Dan, you the man 👨
The three p’s are important!!!
Wazzzz up Jacob yes sir plan position patience
What’s up bro, huge fan. Question, do you need to display an Uber emblem to be allowed to pickup and drop off at the airports?
You need an Uber sticker / logo, and at LAX airport, you need a place card and quiz you need to take. Rest of the airports 🛫 no.
@@ridexserve do you need a placard for LAX just to drop off? I live in Palm Springs and was curious.
Not for dropping off, but yes, for picking up at LAX. Just drive 5 to 10 miles away, and you can still get good rides by lax. There is no need to wait at the que or lax lot.
What’s the split you guys want? I always hear Uber drivers complaining about the split even if it’s good money
85% for drivers 15% for greedy corporations
@@ridexserve why would they give 85% to replaceable labor?
Because they don't really pay for any maintenance or expenses that we have to deal with, I think 15% is enough to allow us to use their technology. It will happen over time but right now we will let these greedy corporations enjoy exploiting us drivers for a little bit longer.
Wow amazing brother what car and category do you drive and how much they pay you guys the mile in California?
UberX comfort and xl average about $1 per mile
Why do they have you pick up in Departures?
I believe it's because the pickup is much faster and easier for both drivers and passengers unless you end up in terminal C then you're going to have to go through a nasty maze
but that $69 trip was was $0.80 per mile not even $1.00 per mile
$69 % by 75 miles is .92 FYI
Doesn’t matter just more miles to write off
Yes, good call. I made $300k in 3 years roughly and 278k miles, just wishing I had bought a used car
@@ridexserve i have a rental unlimited miles so i should just accept every airport trip and not go for a $1.00 per mile?
Go for $1 per minute
So your channel is all about airport pickups ? Or you do city streets as well
I use the airport as my main target and keep coming back as often as possible.
@@ridexserve coming back to the airport?
Ontario airport 🛫 was dead today 😪
Your tips actually have helped me out today made 250 in 7 rides bro
Right ✅️ on, bro... solid numbers 👌 $300 in under 10 trips is a great goal 👌
@@ridexserve your tips have helped me cherry pick many your content is solid it helps in my market I’m in the Denver Colorado market
Awsome, I try to help as many drivers as I can. Thanks for letting me know about the Denver market.
Not only is getting a ride request distracting while having a passenger it is annoying to the passenger AND since you can't really get it (10 seconds is too damn short) you get nicked for not accepting (lowers acceptance score). Uber just has it wrong. Should call themselves GOOBER.
Yes, sir agreed, and all lives matter. Ours and the passengers in the plus the public. Scrubber
My friend! You are an uber guru. Let me buy you some lunch or dinner when you are in south orange county.
Deal! And thank you.
