Exactly. An example of trading freedom for security. Liberty for safety. “A country that trades liberty for security deserves neither and will loose both” Franklin

Was in accident, other driver cited & at fault, their insurance covered damage, but my insurance skyrocketed on next renewal!!! It wasn't my fault & my insurance didn't pay a dime!! I never even involved my insurance company. Was told their was a claim in national database that included my VIN, doesn't matter about details/fault or payout company. Like how is this fair, much less legal. Tried other companies for quotes, pretty much same response, VIN in system makes you high risk?? It's so wrong

I’m glad I’m not the only one that feels that way.
If I have cash to cover any incidents why should I be obligated to have insurance in the first place?
I am an adult and I can take the risk.
In my country of origin car insurance is not mandatory. In most countries insurance is NOT mandatory.
However, here in America many brainwashed Americans think it’s the paramount of responsibility and readiness to be OBLIGATED TO HAVE IT.
It’s simply organized crime (insurance companies + lobbyists + government officials) to extort money from the citizens.
They get all of the money and they mandate it that we must pay it.

It's all a scam. I had the car insurance provider (Geico) for over 15 years, different vehicles of course. Ever since the C-O-V-I-D crap it's doubled.
Used to have two full size trucks. 2018 & 2019. It was $123, each for both, full coverage but began to increase every time I had to renew.
A few years ago I sold both trucks & just got a used 2019 truck. They then turned around & DOUBLED my insurance for one vehicle!!
I was now going to have to pay almost $300 a month just for ONE! Fast forward today & the cheapest I could get insurance on the same truck is about $850/6 months with a $2500 deductible.
It's insane, clean driving record & no tickets. I'd imagine it's way more expensive if you have a dirty record, but why do us good drivers have to suffer??!!

Here in UK a friend took out car Insurance from 1st Central after they gave the best quote on Comparison sites. They accepted her payment with no quibbles but after the policy had been running for one month they contacted her and asked for another £75 as they said that she had made an error on her application form and the £75 would cover their expenses. The implication was that if she did not pay quickly the policy would be cancelled with no refund. So far they have not responded to the question of WHY they did not check the application before accepting it and that if my friend had suffered an accident during that first month would they have refused to pay out, meaning that in effect that she was driving uninsured. This seems to have been a way of gaining business by undercutting other insurance companies and then slapping an additional charge on after the policy was up and running. SO BEWARE 1ST CENTRAL.

I was in a car accident last year the day before Thanksgiving and I have not purchased another car since then I have been taking Uber or the bus or my electric bike. I can put the electric bike on the front of the bus I've saved over $2500 this year. The reason I don't get another car is I'm still mad over the accident. I looked both ways before I made a left hand turn and there weren't any cars and so I made my turn and then a lady from the other side of the street coming out of a parking lot made a right hand turn and instead of standing in her right lane she moved into the left lane and hit the back side of my car. I did not get a ticket but my insurance company said I was mostly to blame even though I had photos showing the skid marks of where her car pushed into mine. I had two lawyers call me but I ignored them because I didn't imagine I would have a problem. I even had a witness for the accident but he said he couldn't stay but he said the police only had to look at the cars and they could tell the lady driver was at fault. I have been driving for 50 years and never sued anybody even though I have been hit over three times my advice is if anybody gets hit they should call a lawyer as soon as possible.
