Hey these look great. Just reached out to them about getting a whole set of Soviet lenses rehoused. What are your thoughts on the build quality? Do you think they could have any issues over time? I know that the focus ring can move in and out on some of the Soviet lenses - do you think this could lead to any issues when using a follow focus?
I think they should be fine using a follow focus! Keep in mind its 3D printed so I feel like being safe with drops and stuff would be smart but otherwise they’re pretty solid!

Looking for my first budget cine Len set ( 24,35,42,50,85, etc) at least 3 lens that all give the same/similar style and feel. (mainly for my personal work)
Do you recommend a set of vintage lens or a set of budget cine like the rokinon ?
The soviet set is really nice! I don't like Rokinon's that much but havent tried them out that much in a few years I only use them for the fisheye 8mm.
I love my Canon FDs. It's really hard to get a 24mm but so far I've gotten the nFD 28mm f2.8, nFD 35mm f2, 50mm f1.4, 135mm f2.5, 80-200mm f4. I'lm hoping to rehouse them myself with some 3D-printing and unify their front-diameter to 77mm. So far, I've already converted them to Canon EF and added a dandelion chip so the lense's focal length actually shows up for the camera.
I like the Nikon Nikkor AI/AI-S series, and the Minolta Rokkor series.
Nice plastic body! Regarding focusing - does front element move out while focusing? If not, I am sold, gonna buy and try it.
So it does move slightly as its still the original lens and not the glass removed and replaced. Its barely noticeable though! But if you’re turning the gear you’ll notice when you’re looking for it.

I definitely like the increased diameter of the f and ap rings, even if you are not going mech but damn- 200 beans is a lotta gaz. I'm going to continue the arm rotation yoga to pull focus for awhile.

Hahaha. The housing costs 3.5x the value of the lens. What foolishness is this?
You could go for a metal rehousing too but that'll cost you around 2.5-3k per lens! So its really if you think its worth it or what you can afford
The main reason older lenses go down in value is they need a cleaning and and service. If you get your 50 dollar lens with dust and beginning of fungus rehoused then it could be like new again, and getting a new lens to compare to a good vintage lens is way more than 300 bucks today.
