THAT 2 WIRE SENSOR (COOLANT) CONTROLS A LOT: IGNITION ADVANCE, FUEL INJECTOR BAND-WIDTH, IDLE SPEED ETC., MAKE SURE IT IS IN SPEC OR REPLACE WITH OEM SENSOR. I IN FACT GOT AN OEM SENSOR INSTALLED INTO MY COROLLA AND ALSO INTO MY LAND CRUISER TODAY! ONE IS WAITING TO GO INTO MY 4RUNNER.
There is 2 ect sensors. One under distributor that goes onto block is the dummy one that tells radiator fan when to turn when vehicle is hot. 2nd one is the most important one- the brain of operation that communicates with ecu. It's located on round thermostat housing.
@robertdiehl9003 yeah but the one on the thermostat housing is for fans only. It doesn't mess up with car at all. It will just overheat . I've fixed those too.
Good video! Keep it up…👍

Distributors go bad often also. Usually the igniter inside goes bad in first gen Crv's.
