If you want to react to more songs by Hank Williams Jr. try "Eleven Roses", "Rainin' in My Heart" or "I looked all over Hell but Heaven Can't be Found'. I think these are my three favorites by Hank.
Listen to Hank Jr with that amazing voice. Nice to hear traditional country music. We can be Country Boys and Girls even if we live in a city - its all about attitude. Be responsible, take control of your life, be self sufficient as possible, above all be respectful of others. Great lessons in this song. Hank Jr is the son of country music legend Hank Williams. Enjoy! Other fun songs are Family Tradition, Whisky Bent and Hellbound (which is actually fun and funny).
I'm up here in the mountains of Tennessee myself and loving it!!! You have such a sweet and beautiful smile and I hope that you go far with your videos.
Watching this video featuring a black commentator made me wish Hank had featured country black folk doing their thing to survive as well. I come from the country and I can cook you up a pan of homemade biscuits and milk gravy with pan fried squirrel or rabbit shot just today. And I grew up with black folks who farmed their land and hunted the same fields and forests I did. We all were survivors.
Fer them what don't know what he meant when he said, "I'd love to spit some Beech Nut in that dude's eyes.", Beech Nut is a brand name of a chewin 'backer (chewing tobacco).
Couple things to help illustrate the song. He says " I'd like to spit some beechnut in that dudes eyes" beechnut is a chewing tobacco brand. He also says " run a trot line" that's a largely illegal way of fishing where you string a line with multiple hooks across a stream or river.
Here in South Carolina trotlines are legal it they have no more than three hooks . Any more than three hooks per line requires a license tag attached to the line and costs only a few dollars .
Went trot line fishing as a kid in Oklahoma. We ran three lines and would almost fill the bottom of the aluminum hulled boat. I would be so tired the next day you keep running the lines all night. Then you set up an a disassemble line and process your catch. Food doesn’t always come easy.
I’m 13 and live in NC in my opinion you really have to live in the country to really appreciate it also can you do Rolling Stones gimme shelter it takes me back to summer of 2019
Recipe for homemade wine. 1 bottle of grape juice. Remove i cup of juice and replace it with i cup granulated sugar. Add 1 TBSP of any yeast (most folks use bread yeast in the bakery section of any grocery store. Tighten lid on bottle. Shake it all up until you see no sugar settling on bottom of jug/jar. Crack the lid slightly ast will expand. Wait 14 DAYS. OULA! Wine! WARNING! It's hella more potent than the wine that is legal in most countries!
No no sir you do not use grape juice that is not homemade wine you have to go and pick muscadives yourselves and that's how you start off with real homemade wine. And in his live version he says homemade muscadine wine nothing about homemade grape wine
Thank you for listening to the song/story without interrupting.....it was obvious you were truly interested in the message...just subbed and look fwd to watching more of your reactions of any and all of your selections..
I was born and raised a county boy. We had to kill our food to survive. Now that I am a grown man I try to teach my kids the art of survival, but it seems now a days kids are not interested. If everything goes to hell a country can survive. Hank is the best he puts everything in telling a story about how country people live.
You are such a beautiful woman and your voice make me think of honey or silk because it's sweet and smooth. Someday your children will be so lucky because when you go to tuck them in at night they will know that an angel is already watching over them. Makes me wish I was a younger man!
The best part of life in the country is that if the whole world suddenly went to hell, (which these days has started to look like a realistic outcome) I don't care. I have a job and make money and all that. But if it all went down the drain I've got my guns, and miles upon miles of woodlands and rivers. While people in the cities are killing each other over the last package of bologna, I'm in the woods eating deer steak and trout. A country boy not only can survive. We will. And we are willing to teach any that wish to learn.
@@CarolineIsahAlways My dad and uncles built the first house I ever lived in. It was a log cabin with dirt floors and no indoor plumbing. I grew up learning to farm, raise horses, tap maple trees for maple syrup and boiling it. Trapping, shooting, hunting, fishing. Back then certain laws pertaining to those things were basically guidelines and the fish and wildlife department left people alone because they were just surviving. Now you can get fined, lose your guns, go to jail... why? You hunted out of season. And conservation laws are a thing. Don't get me wrong. They exist for a reason. But trust me when I say that at least here in Vermont, deer are not an endangered species. I saw 5 in somebody's yard 2 days ago. And one last point. When I was in highschool for the first couple years before Columbine, students kept their hunting rifles in their vehicles so they could go hunting after school. After Columbine... If your family owns guns you are a threat. I know from personal experience. Was going to turn a 45. shell casing into a necklace. Made the mistake of taking it to school and talking about it. Cue the sniffer dogs and cops. IN VERMONT! Everybody and their grandma owns a gun here. I sat outside the principals office, still heard every word my dad said... he was yelling that loud... Didn't end well for the principal.
