  • Out at the range testing the hornady 4DOF calculator out to 520 yards on steel targets. overall it worked really well and it just had me a bit high. I would 100% recommend this app as a starting point to start dialing in some dope on targets. then we tested some handloads from a previous video in which we found our powder charge. you can see how the two come together really well. I'd say the only unfortunate thing is, I forgot my shooting bag and I was a bit shaky today (alot shaky). But for what it is I chose the group that was farther off the lands in order to be able to adjust the length farther up in the future as the barrel degrades. I will mass produce these loads and upload more video later with a more stabilized platform. Thank you for watching and please like and subscribe if you want to see more content like this. or leave a comment of what you would like to see.
Edit: After uploading I realized the last part of the video was rotated wrong. hopefully you can bare with it since it is the end. Thank you

I purchased this exact same gun in late November last year. I am new to long range rifle shooting and am loving the whole experience of calmness and concentration. I find that I can lose and hour or more just sitting there at the range where I shoot here in France. I have an A-Tec suppressor on mine and an Athlon 6-24/50 scope all in all a good package at a very fair price.

It's a great rifle. I agree about it being soothing. Usually I spend a solid 4 to 6hrs just hanging out. I've heard great things about Athlon.

Something about shooting is so relaxing to me, even though you're holding a mini explosion.

I agree with you 100%. Hope you enjoyed the video. It was a bit hard to film. The tripod had broke right as we started filming.
Either way still a pretty solid day of shooting.

Hey everybody, thank you all so much for the comments, views, and subscribing. I appreciate all your support and hope to grow this channel and bring you all more guns and shooting experiences. This coming week, I will do a build or buy an AR15 video with three different ARs and some shooting, so stay tuned!

Good shooting! Just posted a video of my Bergara B14 in 308 running 185 Juggernauts out to 1000 yards.

Thanks man. I feel like I'm so rusty just not getting the trigger time that I'm used to when I had a massive supply of Ammo.
I thought I was gonna explain the 4 Dof Calc more, I just got so into the shooting though. However, that's what I was doing was gathering dope compared to the calculator.
I'll give them a shot if I can find them. I'm about to mass produce the load I have for now as well so I can produce more videos.

      What scope you used

Nice shooting man. 0.3 is awesome🥳 I just wonder why you don't fix the cant of the bipod, when you have the rifle leveled to the ground you are shooting on🤔 Also an advise from someone who also tends to miss something when I go to the range: make a list to check everything you need to take with you, that really helps me😉

Thanks man. It's just a matter of forgetting the wrench at a time to do it. The Atlas, if hand tight, seems to come loose on its own too. They make a tension wrench for it as well, which in the near future I'll snag one up.

@@caseysammobench Thats good to know, as I am looking for a new bipod too and also have the atlas in mind. I also thought about ordering the sinclair tactical bipod, because you can widen the stance of the legs. It works similar to the MDT ckye pod, but costs half the price🤔

    • @caseysammobench
      @caseysammobench  2 роки тому +1

@lukas it looks nice, I also like the wider stance that you can put on it. Sinclair is also a great company.
One of these days I won't be so distracted and pack the night before, lol. I even have the dang level to put on the rifle. I just swap it between the ar15 and bergara.
Check out the Sendit Electronic if you get
      the chance.

@@caseysammobench I think I saw it, in one of your videos, but I'd rather spend the $200 more on a scope, than for a level... I have super cheap levels from china on all my rifles and they do the job pretty good😉

@@lukas-ik7qe you are absolutely right. I'd do the same. It was kind of a splurge purchase of opportunity. It's so nice to have the LED light up.

It's a good rifle. Just upgraded my HMR 308 going from a Vortex Diamondback HP to a Viper Pst. I'll throw my nomad 30 on and be good to go. Got some 7.62x51 Nato match to send through it

    • @caseysammobench

I love this rifle. The viper PST, I believe is such a great pair with it. I have the APA gen2 little bastard muzzle brake on it and it has great recoil reduction. I'd really like to see it's performance with a suppressor.
Next, I would like to enter a prs match with it but there seems to not be any in a reasonable distance to me.
It has performed amazingly as a hunting rifle so far.

Just out of curiosity, has it occurred to you, to try to communicate to the viewer something interesting or useful? Sometimes shooting videos are so bad that they are funny. But in this case, you do not not rise to that level. You provide just boring nothing. Truly, the background sound of rifle report and the foggy scenery were more interesting to me than struggling to figure out wtf you are doing. Todd is shooting a bolt action rifle with a scope and his buddy went to deficate (take a dump). It took you 23 minutes to explain you had hand-loaded your loads, and it seems you had half-inch minutes of angle at 100 yards. But really, without you telling us what was your powder or your bullet weight, what the hell difference does it make to anyone what your bullet seating depth or powder weight was? I’ve been shooting rifles over 50 years and hand loading for over 15 years. You just wasted my half hour with nothing. When I die and go to heaven, and I am asked to account for my life, I will say that I am sorry I watched 30 minutes of Casey’s Ammo Bench. Forgive me, Lord.

Thank you for your feedback. I appreciate that you strive to produce firearms content with an emphasis on hand loading. You have built a good foundation. And I look forward to seeing you communicate informative content.

@robertgrant3844 thank you. I understand it's not perfect. This is also a very early on video. I think at that time, and even now, I'm just trying to get used to being on the camera and getting content out there. I think that maybe your original comment was a bit harsh. But, I understand and want to do better. Especially once I retire and have the time to get better.
