It's not bad at all here on the west side of Tampa Bay in the Clearwater/Largo area either. Just tons of rain with very little wind. We need the rain because we have not had the average amount of precipitation that we usually get by this time of year. The rain from Debby is helping to make up for that deficit. Besides that, I love summer showers. The only things that are missing is thunder and lightening.
Stuff like earthquakes, out of control forest fires and mudslides always happen in California and never happen in Florida. Saying this as a native Floridian. And by the way, California had a hurricane in 2023.

I live in Southeast Florida. Do not forget Gorilla waterproof/repair tape. Keeps water out, holds windows and doors tightly closed. Won't go through a hurricane or severe weather without it
There is no such thing as mandatory(!) evacuation for a storm. Big Brother can't force you out of your home. They can tell you that they may not be able to help you if you stay but it's still your choice, not theirs.

Florida should have been left as national park. Everyones insurance goes up just for other folks beach view. Not to mention the destroyed reefs and seagrass beds and starved manatees.
