  • Can the Jordan Zion 3 drop in midsole fit and work well in the Nike Kobe 8 Protro? Basketball shoe drop in midsoles can be really difficult to match and so make sure to measure before trying to stuff one into another

Although your points are absolutely valid and I appreciate your work, these worked great with my Kobe 8s and have a few teammates who enjoy this as well. Everyone’s foot is different though!

the real question here is why is a big man like Zion wearing such abnormally narrow shoes bruh I cant even fathom how small his feet are i js dont get it Jordan better step up the Zion 4

You don’t get it, Marky. They might feel fine right now but they’re not going to work in the long run, so cut your losses now. Case closed.

@@lyinbobbycottonseed now now hold on let’s crack the case open just a touch! MLP has a narrow foot and is a slight of frame while FDZ is more on the wider foot size and is a bit heftier

This is interesting because I had no idea you had tried this- someone in my comment section asked me and I thought it would be fun to try but it’s telling about different foot types that we both independently got to different conclusions on this- my guess it you are either more narrow in the midfoot or have a lower height in the midfoot and can compensate vs my elephant foot that felt every mm of the shrunken volume in the shoe

I actually use the Z3 midsole in Kobe 9s, it’s a lot more cushion and comfort but to each his own
You should check out the Croc Santa Cruz, it’s a loafer with a drop in croc midsole, I think it’s called croslite or something?

SE’s drop in feels a tad thinner and it worked for my Kobe 8 Venice beach’s & Kobe 11. Weirdly enough the SE drop in is a size 13 and fits perfectly in my size 13.5 8’s and my size 13 11’s. I trimmed the little part that protrudes up around my pinky toe of the insole and it’s fine now.

Zion 3 SE tbh wud fit more, seeing that it has slightly less stack which wud result in more room. Both aren't for us 2Es or even the 4Es tho, more for medium n narrow footers due to the similar profile of the drop in lateral claw as Marky (a narrow footer) could testify in his shorts clip.
This is why am not rlly a fan of Kobe sneakers tbh, being a flat footed 2E lass. No disrespect of anything to the late Kobe, it's just that my feet don't fit these.

I pray for a day where we can choose the loadout/foam/tech that matches what we prefer.
Sell the midsoles seperate. I like the Formula 23. But normally a Zoom guy. Think Im gonna have to drop on the SE. Not normally a fan of straps. So might put the zoom se midsole in the non se Outers.

So I was curious about like the overall fitment, should there be a bit of space for the toes as shown in the X-rays. I feel like when I usually where my Kobe 8s my toes are all the way at the end, and it feels like it’s kind of crushing my toes toegether

It has something to do with trying to get the profile as aerodynamic as possible and getting the lateral containment as tight as possible, which is why it's rare to see something like the Altras. Which is a pity, seeing that there are only a few that truly fit us wide footer. Especially those with an outflared feet and/or with flat n high arch feet too. Best bet wud be the Harden line but they're heavy if yer not bigs, and the Wades (sans the All City 12) which often had glue problem typical of Chinese Nike (tho every other aspect of em were an utopia for us wide footers)
