I came up with a fun version in an RP I played in once. Imaginary item projection this allows for the user to project copies of fictional items from difrent novels they've read, games they've played and TV shows and movies they've seen. Main limitation is the more powerful an item they bring into reality from fiction the more exhausting the process is for the user. They even have their own version of Unlimited Blade Works called Unlimited War Worx a which takes the form of a salt flat covered in water in the middle of a storm serounded by rainbow flames with the difrent weapons poping out of the water when the user needs them. The chant to activate this NP is I am the bone of my forge steel is my flesh molten ore my blood, over 1000 battlefields I have walked and a million more I shall walk still. Knowing no calm in the storm that is my life save for the friends I hold within my heart. For my life has and always will be Unlimited War Worx
Emiya is the prime example of practice makes perfect, he made a rather weak magecraft normally and turn it into one of the most versatile skill in Fate.
Dude created a working copy of Excalibur...I think most people underestimate how much of a feat that is. Excalibur is one of the most powerful noble phantasms out there. And even a weak sauce version of it is nothing to laugh at.

True, Emiya made an ordinary magecraft that is seen by others especially from total douchebags from Clock Tower as useless skill into one of the most powerful versatile ability in the series. In fact I can say a lot more how much potent and very useful this ability is if managed by the mundane. A lot of folks from the modern world can say this skill very handy as it comes of knowing the schematics to the most detailed parts even as far to microscopic level. This ability might even leapt technology far ahead as it can flushed out the flawed system and made it perfect as it can be. About Projection, it takes someone with an Origin and Element as Swords to able to replicate something to absurd level. Though I don't think that's only the viable option. There might be others like Emiya that can do the same manners but unable to propagate themselves due like common mindset and their heads not out of the box situation.
Yea for a non combat mage it is you need sword affinity and origin to do what shiro does and since any origin can get you to the grail it’s not really anything special
@@Finalslashes To add to that, the average person is unlikely to be able to store any Noble Phantasms even if they did have the origin and element of 'sword.' Unless someone who had UBW was in a Holy Grail War, I doubt the ability for anyone else to be better than just a walking armoury of mundane medieval weaponry. That is why I think it would be far more difficult-as if it wasn't almost impossible for a mage to even reach the root, much less- for someone who has the origin and element of 'sword' to reach the root.
In Heaven's feel route, Shirou traces Hercules entire history to project Nine Lives Blade Works. He scan his Novel Phantasm God Hands to search for a weapon to counter it as the rock that besekar hold is not a Nobel phantasm but a normal rock present in Einzbern Forest
It still taken a toll over the boy's mental fortitude and the painful strain over his limited magical circuits. At the time, you must remember that Shirou is not completely adept yet over his newfound ability unlike his alternate future counterpart, even with the servant left arm implanted on him.
Uh, Berserker Herk stone axe sword isn't a normal stone sword axe. Its was made from the stone of a Greek temple foundation which act as his catalyst IIRC
It is amusing to think that the son of the mage killer and the the bodyguard of the Tohsaka Heiress has become a subject of study. A good thing for him that his unique situation can't be replicated.
Good video but 2:41 Fate/Side Material Shirou of course was only a half-baked user who could only reinforce weapon-related objects. In the fate route after Rin opened Shirou magic circuits she had him use reinforcement with them and she was amazed at how little talent Shirou had he failed 30 times to reinforce this is with all 27 magic circuits open and Archer even told him after words that reinforcement is not something he's good at giving him hints about projection I know you talked about Shirou not being able to reinforce things that are not weapons but I think saying he had a talent for this magecraft is a bit of a stretch even the basic use of it is really hard for Shirou Side note but Shirou magecraft is not really projection Illya talks about it during HF "Because your projection isn't projection magic. Normal projection magic would let us layer a projection onto something that's close to the original and strengthen it. But your projection is different. You can't give something form unless you create it from scratch based on your image. Because your magic is not projection, but putting shape to your mind." What...how do you know that?" How does she know the nature of Archer's magic? "…I had the wrong idea. My magic isn't creating swords. First of all, I can't do such a skillful thing." So I guess you would just call it giving shape to your mind or UBW
@@abedelrahmanqudih4724 yes i did i already have like the first whole arc planned and am mostly done with the 1st chapter but i am really bad with naming(i'm still wondering if i should change my main characters name and other important ones) so i guess it will take a while for me to release it i also want to make at least 10 chapters first
I've heard that one theory for Shirou"s tracing ability with swords is because of him potentially being Muramasa's descendant While interesting, it doesn't really seem to account for his ability to use Rho Aias
@@josephcruz5902my point was that his affinity for swords stems from his possible blood relation to Muramasa though. If he also had a relation to a shield user, that could make more sense, but even then, Rho Aias is the only shield he ever uses
He isn't muramasas decendant. That was just a theory muramasa himself thought of to try and justify being bonded to Shirou. Every psedeo servant does the same thing to try and explain why they use the body of a specific person. Ishtar was similar to Rin so she used her. Same as parviti and sitonai with illya. Muramasa also just listed that off as an example but the only reason he does go for Shirou is because of emiya being a weapon maker and trace is basically that. Nothing else. And now with Sheva they are trying to justify muramasa being Sheva like so sakura fans don't burn the place down and the only connection is fire which almost every Servant could have.
There is one more important reason why projection is deemed as a worthless: The cost needed to project a certain object exeeds the object worth by a very large amount. (10 to 1 or even greater as explained by Rin in fate stay night, fate route). Shirou just bypassed this cost because UBW does the heavy lifting. (Note how Rin flipped out in the fate route how Shirou should have least lost his arm trying to project Caliburn) Sidenote: you mentioned alternation as something unique to Shirou but in reality this is the magic that is most commonly prefered by magi over projection magic. It's also known as a advanced form of reinforcement magic and not unique to only Shirou (Shirou isn't even that good at it).
Excalibur not Caliburn. They are two completely different swords. Caliburn was the sword in the stone while Excalibur was the sword given as a replacement when Caliburn was lost in battle. I know Fate merged these two swords into one but they called it Excalibur. Not Caliburn.
@@clothar23 Have you seen Fate at all? Caliburn and Excalibur are explicitly different swords in Fate and Shirou projects Caliburn... which also straight up looks different and Saber says "Oh the sword that I lost long ago" or something like that.
Shirou is mad-lad using reinforcement mage craft the in the dangerous way, but he got progress putting himself at risk. Unlimited blade works, knight of owner and Gate of Babylon all act like a counter or method of getting new weapons at any time they need them. If you had a chance to choose from knight of owners, gob and unlimited blades work what would you choose.
Gates of Babylon since the cost wouldn't be high to use like UBW and i dont know about the cost of Knight of Owner. So for me it is a tie between Knight of Owner and GOB
I don't know Knight of Owner... But I would choose Gate of Babylon. However... Being realistic... I would choose UBW but it wouldn't be just like the original. "... In the End, heading to the Tree will be but a simple matter. Now that I am here...", not a quote but that would my intent... Existence shall remember its creator and destroyer.
I remember correctly that sword-axe is just a stone sword taken out of Herc's temple that the Einzbern used to summon him, not a Noble Phantasm, Nine Lives is not a weapon but more like an ability, which means that Nine Lives Blade Works is basically Shirou tapping into Heracles's history by tracing his axesword and managing to use his technique. By this logic could Shirou copy something like Thunderer from Billy The Kid, his Noble Phantasm that is not the gun but more like "this gun is being fired by Billy the Kid" if he traced his gun and by this logic his history?
Technically yes, but shirou is only good at tracing swords because his origin is sword. A gun is a different concept and would be incompatible with his origin thus he would not be able to trace it like he traces Kanshou and Bakuya. He would need more than a glance to truely understand the history and structure of the gun.
As archer emiya could have gave his crest to the younger shiro who would stregthen it and pass it on to the next they are of the same blood so it seems possible use rule breaker and give saber to ren and himself to shiro then begin training shiro to be stronger then he was allowing him to project more and improve his unlimited blade works at the same time
@@maxdragonslayer Archer and Shirou do not possess a magical crest. Archer is outside of time and space anyway so training Shirou and "upgrading" him does literally nothing to himself and doesn't result in an infinite strength loop. Shirou at the end of UBW is actually beyond what a "fully" trained Shirou could achieve, he unlocks all his magical circuits and has Rin supplying over 20 times the magical energy Shirou has at his max which allows him to actually fully use all of them. Basically a fully trained Shirou needs something to juice him up to pull off stuff with his Reality Marble or use large amounts of projections like with Rin or his pact with the Counter Force.
@@Lucaintheninjatank as i recall he did get a crest in the original fate stay night from rin when archer was no name and no memories. Then that version ended up in unlimted blade works fought shiro passed his skills and some memories through them fighting. That shiro became the archer for the next movie which was clear to see when he lovingly moved rins hair before chopping off his arm. By saying shiro was at his strongest at this point seems fesable.....but you are not seeing the potental he still posseses if he where ever to run in to his muramasa version who he is decendnt from a proper black smith who could teach him about actually crafting a weapon helping shiro give better form to his swords and allowing him to make his own weapons, armor, and shields then you still dont see the true potential he has much less the fact each shiro can train with any weapon for thier whole lives till they have masterd it then pass that skill and any other skill they learn on to the next such as alchemy and blacksmithing allowing him to add on too and change his combat style even further he has only scratched the surface of what he can do and can train himself to do you just have to open your mind more
@@maxdragonslayer I feel like your mixing Fanfiction into this. No neither Shirou or Archer has a magical crest, Rin never gave Archer her magical crest, Archer is technically a separate entity in each route and isn't connected with the other routes. Shirou from the three timelines doesn't "become" Archer since Archer is an existence outside of time and born of an unseen timeline similar to the Fate timeline. None of the "infinite" loop stuff would ever work simply due to the nature of Heroic Spirits.
Okay, Otakudaikun, I have to draw a line at your little interpretation of what Shirou said about Gilgamesh's prototypes, especially when, canonically, THEY ARE THAT GOOD. In the VN Shirou even admits this when he encounters the prototype gae bolg and realizes it's even better than the one that did him in on the first night. It is not Gilgamesh's hubris that fuels his statement, but absolute fact, backed up by Nasu, the artbook, the material book and even the VN. What Shirou is talking about with his statement of imitations rivaling the original is how those prototypes are vs what they became. For instance, the difference between prototype gae bolg and gae bolg.
@@CT-sf8wd I guess that depends on how much mana it would cost. Ed doesn't seem to get weaker after doing all that alchemy, but a mage can certainly expend too much energy at a time.
Kiritsugu thought that by intentionally teaching Shirou flawed magecraft, he’d be protecting him from enduring the same Hell Kiritsugu did. Kiritsugu who sacrificed everything that personally mattered to him and all he has to show for is a fire that resulted in the deaths of 500 people, a daughter who resents him and her adopted brother and thinks her daddy abandoned her, and several curses from Angra Mainyu that ultimately claimed his life.
Miyuverse Shiro is also able to project divine constructs as shown when he projected Sul sagana aganist the genuine and when he chucked Ig Alima at Angelica
I may be the only one, but I somehow feel like Shirou's Tracing is more than just an advance form of Projection. He not only recreates form, but also substance and story of the object, essentially recreating it... out of nothing. As in denying it's non-existence, so in other words, Shirou is actually performing something that is akin to the True Magic, or at least it's downgraded version. Now imagine what would happen if Shirou actually achieved First Magic (which I believe constitutes the Creation)? Huh, might actually be a good premise for a fan story...
I know that it has been 11 months since you posted this, however, Tracing is not just crafted from 'nothing.' It requires Magical Energy; as such, it follows the mass-energy equivalence - e=mc^2. Besides, the First Magic is referred to as Denial of Nothingness, not creation - the only thing truly known about it is that Ether Lumps act as the primary basis of the First Magic. Though, it CAN be considered a bastardised version of that. Shirou, in the Fate route, traced Caliburn. He thinks that he's breaking the mass-energy equivalence since he essentially produced something that 'contained' (I forgot the specifics, apologies!) 1000 Magical Energy using around 5 Od - a source of magical energy in the body. So yeah, it can be thought of that he is using a bastardised version of the speculated version of the First Magic. However, it's easy to explain why that is; Shirou has Unlimited Blade Works, a Reality Marble. Reality Marbles are stated to be approaching the level of True Magic, so there is that. I apologise if I got a bit technical or if my tone seemed off. I just wanted to inform somewhat, and I mean no disrespect. Hell, it's likely that I made a mistake as I attempted to explain... The idea of Shirou attaining the First Magic is fun, though.
yes shirou is supposed to be one of the closest mages to the 1st magic. in case of swords he is not projecting them but conceptually forging the sword inside of the reality marble. just look at murasame and you will get your extreme version of what the rm does for him
@@yeetertv7409 well shirou can be said one of the few mordern mage with mage craft near magic under certain conditions. and well magic is stuff on such high level that you needs cheats to even replicate them.
@8:00 I always thought Shiro was specifically using Archer's Unlimited Blade Works, which he could only do because he and Archer are technically the same person, but you suggest here that the fact that Shirou will one day become Archer retroactively gives him the ability to use his own UBW from birth (notwithstanding his inability to pay the high cost)? Fate is a weird series.
IIRC, Shirou has always had the potential to use UBW, but he lacked the knowledge, training, and mana required to do so. Rin's explanation of how magecraft is actually supposed to work helped bridge the general gaps, while the contradiction of the existence of Shirou as both alive (as Shirou) and as a Heroic Spirit (EMIYA) caused Shirou to have certain knowledge and abilities pour into his mind, with his present existence drawing it from his (possible) future form. Funny enough, even if he had never met his younger self in the past, Mercenary!Shirou would still develop UBW at some point, though Shirou and EMIYA's Reality Marbles look different due to their own philosophies.
Projection and Tracing. What a awesome topic I gonna enjoy it. I want to learn more about mage craft power. Shirou prefer a stronger power of projection objects.. Given strength to your alley's is awesome, It's how you create your weapon and use it..
I'll reach the Tree with ease through the use of Projection Magic. Granted... It's not something anyone can do. Existence and Nothingness is my Soul. The Tree and I are similar in origin. But depending on the End... I might end up eradicating the Tree if it stands in my way... It wouldn't be the first time that I must bring an end to omnipotence itself.
I really like projection and trace when emiya uses it but he needs to be held back by the plot so hard so he doesn't snipe everyone. Even his first fight he wants to play saber by not using his bow. Cu asked nicely Meanwhile when he is serious and the plot doesn't hold him back. He takes out saber and Medea level of threats without batting an eye like it's nothing and somehow takes out a ton of lives from hercules by himself. Even his arm is better than some servants. Honestly thinking back on it. Ha is way more important to power scale than fsn as the characters aren't held down by plot as the np and masters do much better in the short fights they have. Emiya killing saber immediately. Gilgamesh nuking the enemies just by showing up. Bazzet knowing hercules would kill her. Cu and his death power actually going off(btw shiki can't kill servants bur nasu almost confirmed that cu can kill arc)
@@CT-sf8wd he didn't even need that much time to set up. Just shoot and she dies. I mean see ubw and how fast he could snipe hercules while the anime shows how he doesn't attack illya his angel and Medea in a second he slashes her and then shoots her when Shirou gets caught. That's how fast he is. Ha he is just playing how an archer should play. Saber isn't that tanky and Excalibur would take too long to use while emiya can just shoot her mutiple times and hit her from a city away. Fsn he doesn't do anything like that as all the fights would just end up like saber vs medusa
@@tonyinfinite5174 well most people don't read ha and I ask everyone of them about it and they can't seperate plot armor from the actual power levels. Ha is funny enough better at power levels than fsn as the romance is already done. Some examples include. Emiya killing saber in one shot mutiple times until she cheats with time travel. Archer using his bow. Cu lance killing bazzet even with time travel coming into play as regardless of what happens the lance kills you. Sakura being useless with a brace to protect her arm and 6 months of training with Medusa to use one blast and do nothing while crying as she isn't physically built(despite being in archery club) Rin figuring out what's happening like illya gilgamesh and Medea as they are smart. Medea GIVING KOJUROU MANA TO LEAVE THE TEMPLE while also fighting with soichirou from the air while they do it at the ground. Gilgamesh destorying the wave of dogs immediately with enuma Elish while the servants are having trouble with them. Hercules being a jolly guy who runs through the dogs like it's nothing. Assasin actually sniping someone cyber punk into bazzet. Shirou sucking at magic. Shinji hiding as he can't fight. Um I think that's a question with way to many answers. I think myself along with most everyone else would probably use projection to as you put it make whatever was needed at the time. Though if someone could project a translated Tsukihime that would be fantastic great lesson can't wait for the next one
No he wasn't born with it. Only when emiya used it he knew he could use it but as for the original emiya no he has to go on a journey and this reality marble is from the whole thing For example ishkaders army is part of his np but he only gained it after he died as he wasn't born with an army while Kerry used time slow from his father's magic to force a reality marble into his body to accel time to see things in slow motion.
Reality Marbles are extremely rare especially for humans. Ubw started existing after the fuyuki fire out of shirou's distorted view of the world alongside other factors.
Something I’ve been interested in is a lesson on the class cards or Displacement magic which are to type moon concepts That are really interesting and one of the things I thank Kaleidliner the most for introducing
@@Finalslashes True, but it's a proof of concept thing. Because she can do it then it's possible to do. So in theory if Emiya Archer had access to Heaven's Feel ending Shirou's memories then he could project the Jeweled Sword of Zelretch, who also made those wands, and do the same thing.
They are as hollow as they only look real from the outside. Projection is basically using extra Mana to make something then fill it with Mana to attack which is why Rin doesn't use it and just fires Mana directly as it's a waste of Mana compared to her gems that act like a store system for thier unique powers of shields and blasts.
@@ivanbluecool Thing is Rin's style is more efficient but limited. As you can't create her gems on the fly. Shiro and his style is only limited by his imagination and available mana.
@@clothar23 which is very limited as he has little Mana and his imagination is only limited to basic day stuff and swords with bow with the shield. Gilgamesh only "lost" Because he was mocking Shirou by only using swords. If he pulled out anything else Shirou would have died. Heck he did if enuma Elish actually hit him. Rin's style is actually conversion with her family crest and gems to store extra Mana for later use like a army Weapon but she is also much more durable than Shirou as she knows to make herself more strong to take hits and trained in bajiquan to even almost take out Medea.
@@ivanbluecool While this is true, it's also true that they were so life-like that Gaia ignored them and they remained in the world for years. So still proof of Shirou's talent.
@@r.k845 I mean it's basically is counterfeit weapons and materials. Like if someone makes a hammer based on a store hammer as Mana is just material to shape or use is how it stays in the world after the function is done. Shirou keeping things around isn't that special. Rin shows this best with how her pendant stores her Mana for years after she uses it to charge the pendant and the Mana doesn't disappear it just remains where it remains and heck even the worms are like this too. The same rule applies for Shirou who already uses his Mana to make something happen with the tools and materials.
Well, in terms of Excalibur, in UBW, Archer did mentioned that he could create a convincing replica, but using its power would be too much for him to handle. in Fate/Kaleid, Iliya (with the Archer Class Card) was able to project a weaker, but fully functional Excalibur.
I am more convince now that Shirou had many past lives as Blacksmith Alchemist or a battle mage like his father. Question is how does magic and reincarnation work in the Fate universes? My theory of Shirou past livies are Senji Muramasa and Gān Jiàng. My only reason for Gān Jiàng the creator of Kanshou and Bakuya other then that I have know idea when Emiya got his two weapons in most Fate Route.
There’s also the idea that Shirou is possibly a descendent of Muramasa which could explain how he has magic circuits and why Muramasa ended up in Shirou’s body In FGO.
There are a few things I would like to have clarrified regarding Shirou and Emiya's unique Tracing Magecraft. Can they also gain boost in their parameters, depending on the weapon they conjure? I ask 'cause I see some people having discussions that he can, and what the limitations are, but don't really know where in the VN it was stated that he gets a boost from his projected weapons. Some say it was the time with Caliburn, but I just thought that Shirou was unconsciously imitating Saber's skill with the sword, as describe that sword felt like it was moving on its own to counter Berserker. Plus it never states he got stronger when using it, infact he flat said he couldn't use it properly. The other was when Shirou first projected Herc's Axe-Sword. But again, I ask how does he gain a boost in his parameters? It's not even a weapon Herc originally owned, it was handcrafted by the Eizenbergs for Berserker to use. Was it when Shirou said that "...the arm will emulate the strength of my enemy". Was it from that line? 'cause I just assumed that Shirou was just placing his faith that Archer's arm would have the parameters itself to lift the weapon, not give him a boost. Since it was establish that some of Archer's servant qualities were leaking and blending into Shirou, but also slowly killing him. Also if it was going to give him the strength he needed, then why did his body buckle under the weight of the sword, to the point he needed reinforcement to fix the damages? --- Also I always questioned the whole "can't trace guns or any modern weapon" rule. I mean excluding faith Extra where Nameless says he can project guns because the Mooncell is less strict with magic. In Hollow Araraxia Emiya projected a bunch of fishing equipment and a fishing rod with a super computer attached to it. And in a Summer event: Servant Summer Camp: Chaldea's Thriller Night in FGO, he projected a Brick Oven to make pizza. In another event, that I don't remember, he projected a cotton candy machine. That's not mentioning the randome stuff he projected that's just sitting in his shed for years. Why are guns excluded, but a futuriatic fishing pole isn't. Also can you imagine a small section in UBW where a bunch of miscellaneous items are just laying about 😂
I think it's better to say that the weapons Shirou projects can surpass his own parameters, as they come with the legends instilled in them as noble phantasms. Nine Lives Blade Works wasn't just Herc's weapon, but the technique he used to slay the Hydra, for instance. As for the modern weaponry bit, I think Nasu's laxed up on that rule since he first wrote it.
Pair projection with Eternal arms Mastery or Knight of Owner and you'll have a deadly combo since eternal arms mastery makes you have full mastery over every weapon you make or Knight of Owner which turns your ready made weapon into full-fledge noble phantasm
Knight of Owner kinda projections unnecessary. Since anything you touch becomes your particular Noble Phantasm. Why bother with copies when you can summon the genuine article ?
@@clothar23 Knight of Owner can turn anything into Noble Phantasm but if the object that got turn is a mundane thing like a tree branch for example then it only strong and durable like being strengthen by reinforcement magecraft
i'd be calling shiro emiya's form of magecraft swordcraft as he does forge and uses those blades while also understanding everything that went into making em and their hystory
Shirou/EMIYA can trace shield like Rho Aias, EMIYA Black Bow, a high-tech fishing rod, a cotton candy machine in an event in FGO and many other things that aren't sword, it just that tracing sword is easier, cost less mana.
I found in some fanfictions idea that with enough proficiency any aspect can be reinforced. For example increase absorption light to change color to darker. How much of this make sense?
I would like to ask, how does Shirou/EMIYA can fire off his swords like projectiles? Because from what I read from some others, Shirou can't originally do that until meeting Archer, and he needed to chant the line "Sword Barrel" or something. Was that ever explained in the vn or anime?
I looked into it a bit more, it turns out the Miyuuverse Shirou actually chants the line "Sword Barrel... Full Open" before tracing some nameless NPs and firing them off.
@@elryck94 I just looked it up and it's weird. Rho Aias is a shield, but it got sublimated into a conceptual weapon that blocks other NPs. Shirou/Archer came across it and added it to his arsenal because he actually got to interact with it.

And then there is Shell Projection, the variation introduced in the special episode of _Lord El-Melloi II's Case Files._ _Adventures of El-Melloi II_ Vol 3 also mention it briefly. So I was curious what is your thought about it?
Awh, no elaboration on why Illya can project Excalibur in Prillya and use it's True Name despite it being a divine construct. Nasu breaking all his own rules.
Fate Kaleid was a doujinshi/fanfiction so it didn't need to be accurate to canon, it got popular later so the people from Type-Moon decide to hire the author and Kaleid became a real part of the Nasuverse.
@@tienmanhnguyen3422 Doesn't mean there shouldn't be an explanation. But fret, for I have one! It is well known that the servants contained in the Class cards are inferior. Hence, the Excalibur held by Card Saber is an improper recreation and therefore can be projected.
Isn't because Ilia is basically a living holy grail? That could be the reason, but of course i'm not an expert so i'm probably wrong, Kaleid is very weird.
I thought that was due to Illya mixing projection with the einzbern's wishing magic to essentially bypass the restriction. Remember, Dai got one thing wrong: in the vn Counter guardian EMIYA says he could project Excalibur, but it would kill him. Shirou can analyze and project divine constructs but unless it's an alternate version of him using a different UBW (like in Kaleidoscope) it's basically a pipe dream because actually doing it is too advanced for him to survive.
Assuming projection were easier and more accessible, what sorts of things would you find most convenient to project as needed?
I would use it to build things.
Some old toys that got lost at my parents and grandparents houses or custom lego sets my brother had made in the 1990's to early 2000's. Although I'd also make some custom model kits because I'd do that out of traced stuff as a proof of concept before I used my actual physical kits to make them.
It would definitely be used for construction and item crafting.

Dai-kun: "I'm Also going to mention the Moon Cell."
Everyone else: "Hey, that's Hell you're walking into."
Mages : Projection is useless.
Shirou : *EMIYA start playing in the background*
Good video but
2:41
Fate/Side Material Shirou of course was only a half-baked user who could only reinforce weapon-related objects.
In the fate route after Rin opened Shirou magic circuits she had him use reinforcement with them and she was amazed at how little talent Shirou had he failed 30 times to reinforce this is with all 27 magic circuits open and Archer even told him after words that reinforcement is not something he's good at giving him hints about projection
I know you talked about Shirou not being able to reinforce things that are not weapons but I think saying he had a talent for this magecraft is a bit of a stretch even the basic use of it is really hard for Shirou
Side note but Shirou magecraft is not really projection Illya talks about it during HF
"Because your projection isn't projection magic. Normal projection magic would let us layer a projection onto something that's close to the original and strengthen it. But your projection is different. You can't give something form unless you create it from scratch based on your image. Because your magic is not projection, but putting shape to your mind."
What...how do you know that?"
How does she know the nature of Archer's magic?
"…I had the wrong idea. My magic isn't creating swords. First of all, I can't do such a skillful thing."
So I guess you would just call it giving shape to your mind or UBW

I've heard that one theory for Shirou"s tracing ability with swords is because of him potentially being Muramasa's descendant
While interesting, it doesn't really seem to account for his ability to use Rho Aias
Maybe he went to Greece for a few years through being guardian met Ajax the Greater
@@gast321 I think the most important factor is that his origin is of sword.
Maybe a shield is sword-like enough to be traceable?
There is one more important reason why projection is deemed as a worthless: The cost needed to project a certain object exeeds the object worth by a very large amount. (10 to 1 or even greater as explained by Rin in fate stay night, fate route). Shirou just bypassed this cost because UBW does the heavy lifting. (Note how Rin flipped out in the fate route how Shirou should have least lost his arm trying to project Caliburn)
Sidenote: you mentioned alternation as something unique to Shirou but in reality this is the magic that is most commonly prefered by magi over projection magic.
@@clothar23 Shirou only projected Caliburn in the fate route.
@@clothar23 "I know *Fate* merged these two swords into one" that where you are wrong and your reply invalid my dude
@@clothar23 Have you seen Fate at all? Caliburn and Excalibur are explicitly different swords in Fate and Shirou projects Caliburn... which also straight up looks different and Saber says "Oh the sword that I lost long ago" or something like that.
@@tienmanhnguyen3422 no
Shirou was able to project Excalibur in Heaven's Feel, but doing it ended up killing him after he destroyed the grail.
Time for projection and tracing . Shirou"s forte of magic
10:20 I wonder if you could use Alteration to the same effect as FMA alchemy...
Yeah, to some degree.
@@OtakuDaiKun How much? Could you one do the earth wall thing?

Trace...ON!!
I love Shirou's Tracing mage craft, but i find Ainsworth's mage craft has the most potential.😅
HEY!!! I was just researching this topic the other day!! What a well timed upload for me. XD
Great lore video on projection otakudaikun.
I am the bone of my lesson lol great lesson professor dai can't wait for the next one
When Shirou uses it, he does a different chant, making it his own to an extent.
I'm pretty highly interested in the next subject about timelines.
Very enlightening, I am now able to create artoria's other sword
I really like projection and trace when emiya uses it but he needs to be held back by the plot so hard so he doesn't snipe everyone. Even his first fight he wants to play saber by not using his bow. Cu asked nicely
Meanwhile when he is serious and the plot doesn't hold him back.
To be fair, Emiya was prepared when he took out Saber on the bridge. He was camping there, right?
Right this is what I been telling fans if the plot didn't hold Archer back he could just snipe everyone
Sakura being useless with a brace to protect her arm and 6 months of training with Medusa to use one blast and do nothing while crying as she isn't physically built(despite being in archery club)
Rin figuring out what's happening like illya gilgamesh and Medea as they are smart.

Though if someone could project a translated Tsukihime that would be fantastic great lesson can't wait for the next one
8:00 So was Shirou born with UBW? Are all human beings born with a reality marble that they could in theory use?
No he wasn't born with it. Only when emiya used it he knew he could use it but as for the original emiya no he has to go on a journey and this reality marble is from the whole thing
For example ishkaders army is part of his np but he only gained it after he died as he wasn't born with an army while Kerry used time slow from his father's magic to force a reality marble into his body to accel time to see things in slow motion.
Reality Marbles are extremely rare especially for humans. Ubw started existing after the fuyuki fire out of shirou's distorted view of the world alongside other factors.

Rin's style is actually conversion with her family crest and gems to store extra Mana for later use like a army Weapon but she is also much more durable than Shirou as she knows to make herself more strong to take hits and trained in bajiquan to even almost take out Medea.

Well, in terms of Excalibur, in UBW, Archer did mentioned that he could create a convincing replica, but using its power would be too much for him to handle.
in Fate/Kaleid, Iliya (with the Archer Class Card) was able to project a weaker, but fully functional Excalibur.

i can't wait till he does the walking and breathing method in this series
of only mages studied phisycs they would know how powerfull It Is to create matter from notthing, even more if automatyze via mistyc code
---
Also I always questioned the whole "can't trace guns or any modern weapon" rule.
Awesome thank you for taking the time reply. Appreciated 👍 @@OtakuDaiKun
Pair projection with Eternal arms Mastery or Knight of Owner and you'll have a deadly combo since eternal arms mastery makes you have full mastery over every weapon you make or Knight of Owner which turns your ready made weapon into full-fledge noble phantasm
But Shirou already can master weapons with tracing though, that how he can use Nine Live Blade Works

So yeah, it not just swordcraft (fun fact: in the game Shadowverse, Swordcraft is just swordmanship)
I found in some fanfictions idea that with enough proficiency any aspect can be reinforced. For example increase absorption light to change color to darker. How much of this make sense?
A human magi would most certainly not be able to do something like that. It's too conceptual.
I've been wondering about this for a while, but do you think it's possible for Shirou to use Alteration magecraft?
The real reason ea can't be traced is because it's a drill, not a sword.
Either that or shirou never payed for the DLC
maybe because EA is not an NFT so shirou can't screenshot and copy paste it :v
If Nameless was summoned in Caldea would he still have the ability to create Divine Weapons?
I would like to ask, how does Shirou/EMIYA can fire off his swords like projectiles?
Because from what I read from some others, Shirou can't originally do that until meeting Archer, and he needed to chant the line "Sword Barrel" or something.
Was that ever explained in the vn or anime?
I have no idea. I've never heard of the term Sword Barrel till you mentioned it.
I looked into it a bit more, it turns out the Miyuuverse Shirou actually chants the line "Sword Barrel... Full Open" before tracing some nameless NPs and firing them off.

Good Day Daikun-sensei Id like to ask if I can be excused from today's class I have to study for some finals for a few of my other courses, I'll be sure to study up and do extra work if necessary so please understand.🙇🏾♀️
Luckily this isnt that kind of class^^;
l would use this to make as much money as possible
Any one can use tracing with training and knowledge of one's element and origin.
And then there is Shell Projection, the variation introduced in the special episode of _Lord El-Melloi II's Case Files._
_Adventures of El-Melloi II_ Vol 3 also mention it briefly. So I was curious what is your thought about it?
If that episode came out before I made this video I would have mentioned it.
Awh, no elaboration on why Illya can project Excalibur in Prillya and use it's True Name despite it being a divine construct. Nasu breaking all his own rules.
My bad. Wouldn't the class cards have something to do with that?
So is it just me or does reinforcement and projection magic seem almost identical to Hunter x Hunter's Enhancement and Conjugation nen types.
Reinforcement and enhancement are pretty much identical yeah.
Damn this arrogant sounding voice makes it sound like some sort of Magus, im laughing so hard right now
