i say it turned out great, scratched build backpack turn out awesome. i hope you do something similar using an gundam head! as for the parts cracking, i had a similar issue with specific parts that goes over another part/skeleton (i.e zaku snout). this is my theory on my issues but the paint and topcoat cause an increase of thickness between the parts thus when assembling it, the part fits but the paint & topcoat made the plastic expand thus the cracking.
Matches the proportions of the newer G Generation games a lot better that the current SD model kits do. I love the FZ Kai but then I really like all the 0080 designs.
I don't really understand what you dislike about the zaku II kai. In my opinion, the darker green on the chest and the smaller head make it look bulky and more threatening than the regular zaku, while the yellow and red accents and the green on the helmet make it look cooler. And it's Bernie's Zaku.
I actually think the proportions work really well, so awesome job! Its chibi but not over the top like typical sd, which i don't really care for. I would love to see you play with this concept more in the future!
It's very strange that you mentioned parts cracking on this kit since it was the first kit (and I think the only one to this day? Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong there) to use that new plastic formula that was SUPPOSED to be better for painting than ABS while still retaining a feel similar to ABS in the joint strength department. They called it something different, I don't remember what though.
The chipping looks on-point. I remember you said you're somewhat new to weathering, but it's looking great. How are you adding the chipping? is it with a brush or a sponge?
I honestly like this kit! the rec accent on the feet makes it look unique. As for the Zaku 2 Kai, I do like it. I just feel the colors in the RE were a bit ugly.
I might know what happen, This is a 1/100 scale while the last kit you did this was a 1/144 so that explain the size of the head looks smaller, I like the coloring but It would be nice more weathering effect on the joins (like oil spills), too bad for the LED. Still awesome work.
Hmmm..... your paint job is great, though not enough contrast in the different light grays maybe. And to me, the legs look longer than they should based on the other proportions. That said, I’d buy it from you !
I am not normally a fan of post/pre-shading but you really pulled it off. Gives it a great, worn, dusty look that is almost camo but then it kind of shifts in and out of having camo and not. Its hard to polish a turd but you did a good job. And the design of this kit really is the biggest turd of them all.
Strangely the only parts of the Zaku II FZ design that I absolutely hate are the stubby waist section, too long skirting armour and crotch that when combined make the torso and thighs look embarrassingly small. Despite the features of the MS that I despise the most having been exaggerated in this custom, it still looks okay to me.
The head is too big and you might have gone a little overboard with the decals (not as much as some people though), but the paint job is excellent and a really good color scheme for a Zaku. Shame to hear you don’t like the 90mm machine gun, I think it really works for a suit like the Zaku. But the bazooka works here too quite well.
Your color theory is always on point!
"It's a Gundaaam!" Hahahaha It's fun finding your comments on gunpla channels. Looking forward to more builds!
proportions reminds me of the PS2 Gundam RPG game 'MS Saga/Gundam True Odyssey' and it makes me feel old just remembering that game, lol.
Haha yeah totally!
In my opinion the kitbash overall looks amazing but it is a bummer that the leds didn’t work. 👍👍
now a 1/100 SD alex mash !.. maybe customize the sdcs rx-78 head
i think youre right about the balance between decal type and paint job type
The decal is pretty cool
And yea thats a cute yet incredibly detailed head

Love the decals and color scheme
So clean! Great work
Turn out fantastic, good job Zach.

This looks amazing, great job!
Hey man I'd say you successfully created a meta bots zaku! It just has like teen proportions and it looks sick actually. 👍👍
colors look fantastic
I like it, the paint job is really nice.
Looks great, I think you should give it a bigger bazooka
I like it. Honestly if you swap the SD head out for a regular Zaku head it would look like one of those extra thicc Kobayashi or Kondo designs
Lol yeah you’re right
I dig it. Im not a big fan of the gap between the back of the head and torso but otherwise it looks great.
I love it, you did a great job!
And the eye almost looks illuminated even with the led off. Very cool

And it's Bernie's Zaku.
My favourite Zaku along with the Thunderbolt ver.
It's a matter of pure opinion. The aesthetic reason's you like it may very well be why he doesn't.
First impressions, everything looks good to me and nothing stands out as being particulary awkward. A+ from me!

Really love the finished build. Awesome! Shame that the LED switch broke!
Damn. I love Zaku FZ II. IMO its one of the design that stands out among other Zaku II.
Wow love this zaku
I think it's beautiful, I love it!
I wonder if an Exceed Zaku head would work proportionally for a 1/00 SD.
It would be huge but yeah possibly
Kinda reminds me of the Suits from MS saga with the bigger head
Can you show all the BGMs you used?
The chipping looks on-point. I remember you said you're somewhat new to weathering, but it's looking great. How are you adding the chipping? is it with a brush or a sponge?
Sponge in this case!
I want to buy this if this was mass produced. and if it has a functioning cockpit
This is what I hoped MG SD was going to be
What mix/color/brand did you use for the inner frame zak?
Adding all the paints in the description now! 👍
@@ZakuAurelius Thank you!
This looks awesome! Shame about the LEDs though. Are you going to be selling this like you did with the GM?
Indeed! 👍
looks good

Good stuff Zach :) Shame about that LED but overall the paintwork is nice.
Which paints do u use??
Paints are listed in the description 👍

And I’d be happy to sell it to you! Haha 👍
Well we can’t be friends because the Zaku FZ is my favorite out of the Zaku’s. Im just kidding man. But the Zaku FZ is my favorite tho :)
Comment for your alg
🙏
zaku II kai is a wide boi
I think it's Fanfuckingtastic. Some of your best work. Even if this version of the zaku is goofy.😀
Hi
Looks like SD mecha design from the latest Super Robot Wars games (SRW V, X, T)..

love it !, shame about led , 👍
creo que unos colores verdes oscuros junto a grices hubieran quedado meror, pero es un gran custom
check out Gunplamentalz channel to see some ideas on how i build my kits with switches in them Zack peace

Looks like a mascot or something
mmmm
