my heart explodes when he screams "they all conjure images still, where you sit and you read in the sunlight aware that i watch"...jesus christ there is nothing like this band out there thank u so much for perfection such as this!!!
I'm not sure if it's been mentioned but I noticed that the video montage in the background is playing forward until 1:38 when the song starts to slow down. From then on the people are going backwards. Like it's rewinding. Considering the lyrics, I don't think that's just a coincidence. But that's just me. u.u
This song reminds me of my grandma that died a day after Christmas. She visited us once and she'd always sit alone and read in the office; the room we never go in. And this song describes just that; a memory of someone reading in an abandoned room that at one point witnessed so much light.
Most people want to meet their favorite bands, get an autograph, and go on with their lives. With these guys I just want to sit somewhere quiet and listen to the stories of this man's life and talk about the most abstract things. Purpose of life, death, memories and so on. That would make my life.
+Tom Gallagher for real though. Some people live their whole lives without experiencing something that moves them and learning to reflect and express it. It is special.
La dispute was recommended to me after searching for bands that sound like Thursday but wow these guys have a completely different style and I'm loving it.
been listening to this band for over 10 years and still my favorite band, the lyrics to everyone song of there's you can relate to. thank you so much for your music
Songs like this don't really make sense until you are older in all honesty. I can relate to this so much. Got married, bought a house but barely months into moving in, she wanted to divorce so the house we bought never got lived in. Boxes still not unpacked after moving in and likely never to be unpacked.
You guys make me relive my last relationship like its sitting right next to me and its the most beautiful/painful thing I've experienced in love. Thank you? Lol
Was introduced to these guys 2 years ago, incredible. You can see every sentence. They way they put You in the story,, idk how i never came across them. Im 27..
I don't know if you still need this, but here it is: Standard tunning. Basically A, G and F, only near to the ending there's a variation where C is played instead of F (in that part "between the ones that we made and the ones that we didn't make") I'm actually recording a cover of this song with Post-Black Metal instrumental lol
And in "when you leave here when you go from a home" you play A, F, E, A and G (i forgot to say that and i don't want to type all that comment again lol)
@@HericlesHericles is there a word for how they changed up the chord after the "ones that we didn't make" line? It sounds so amazing, I replay that part constantly
I've never listened to a band that brought me to places in my mind and painted such beautiful imagery as much as La Dispute do.
such a wonderful song.
Ciian Thornhiil same
Ciian Thornhiil Then I think you're also going to like the new album of 'Pianos Become The Teeth'. It's called Keep you. Give it a try
Probably the best tune on the album.
Bacon and cheese has been stuffed into a crust cheesy bread
Easily. It’s the most heartbreaking and kinda devastating.

Few bands can play with my strings like these guys!

how can a band be this perfect

For me, best song on this album

Never thought I could hear a painting
it's been years and this still haunts me.
Paints such a beautiful image in my head
It reminds me of my mother. Not the story itself but the way he describes her. My mother likes to read.

My heart broke the moment I heard him say "I live alone now".

Shouts out to Ashley I never forget that 15 year old emo girl who opened my world up when I was young and angry at the world
Hands down of the best pieces of music I've ever heard, pure gold.

this album still makes me emotional 2 years later. la dispute is amazing.
Chills, every time.
It's impossibe to pick a favorite song off this album. But this one, wow.

There is nothing like la dispute, nothing...
happy 10 year anniversary to an album and song that truly touches my heart to this day
I live alone now.
Save for the echoes.
This song is so truthful it hurts. Love it
I like when im laying in bed listening to this song on my Bluetooth speaker. The bed vibrates from the bass and it's so calming.
Best band ever
This is so fucking beautiful. Definitely my favorite. Every song on the album makes me tear up.

Masterpiece! The whole album! Great job
Wow, this is amazing! My new favorite song!
This song is one of my favorites by La Dispute. It's so straightforward and haunting.
This song is gold. I can't have enough of it. I'm probably responsible for atleast 50 replays within the last week.
This song gives me fucking chills
The fact that this song has 3 dislikes (at least as I'm typing this) is crazy to me. How do you not have emotions listening to this???
Maybe they disliked because it made them feel emotions...
Or maybe they just didn't like it after hearing? Does that sound so strange to you? Man. Let people dislike what they will.
Puchinbola all these flavours and you gon be salty?
My favourite from the album too, so chill.
This is definitely the best album they put out.
mycrunkisfree I prefer wildlife

I can't deal with this
This should have been the official video.
oh my god
@Joseph Smith I disagree. There are many metaphors connecting disasters and the downfall of a marriage throughout the album
Im not safe from the echos. I still live here. You left...
I live alone now, save for the echoes.
wow
Anyone know who made these videos?
Uhh, am I the last one left??
Nope.
someone help me find the chords! so in love with this.
