Great job guys. Love your show and your projects. Showing your video to my wife helps me in my case to restore my ‘88 K5 lol. These things can sure add up quick on the restore but man they’re awesome trucks! Take care guys!
I have an all original 86 k5 that I love. The interior is worn as it should be. The replacement parts just look cheap and flimsy. If your gonna do a interior remodel you should go with rubber flooring ridged plastic rear panels and vinyl seats. At most on the exterior replacement led lights is as far as I would go. 4" lift 35/ 12.5 / 15 on rim's with no offset. Polish the original crome and your good to go.
Looks beautiful. What is the name of those rims that are on this truck called? I have them on my blazer but one of them is missing on the rear and I need to replace it and have no idea what I see you called.
I have this 86 K5 Blazer 4x4 6.2 diesel, that I would like to lift it 4" so it can match the trailer I bought with it, and the reason to lift it is to match both of them in height ( truck 31" trailer 37") it's a bit noisy while driving because it's a military truck (M1009) I would like to fix to look as much as possible the original view, adding like sound proof all the way around and repaint with the very same colors, and the trailer as well, I want to do it, so in special occasions veterans can driving it, when they have special celebrations, it's a way for me to tell them, THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE.
Great job guys that truck looks awesome that's the hood I need for my truck I'm always stuck with the cheap fiberglass ones but anyways guys used take care please reply
the neighbors can eff themselves.. the beginning photo truck looked fine. interiors? who needs carpets anyways LMAO rubber coat that shit seal up the cracks in the welds (if floors are replaced and fabricated) with RTV silicone caulk and you're good to go. There is something cool about the "worn" patina that comes on the truck. Not afraid to romp on it and really make her work.. IDK just my opinion. I have owned a few, currently have an 87
Love the show guys.. Gives me tons of ideas... Anyways.. Been looking at suv's for big familys.. And of course one of the all time go to's is the chevy suburban.. Anyways.. Was looking at one but all over the internet it's always taking about the transmission problems people have had along with other stuff... Looking for upgrades to fix these problems or stuff that may make these older (1990's to 2006) models kept up longer and more miles..
Hi, my name is Bobby, I own a 1990 Fullsize blazer, On your blazer do you have the inside light on the 1/2 cap? if so, did you have to unplug it so you could remove the cap? were the wires running thru the cap? is there an access port going from the cab to the cap for the wires? Mine have been cut & removed & I need to reconnect them, can you help, please?
There should be a square panel on the driver's side inside behind the door of the top. 4 small screws to remove the panel and you'll have access to where they should be. If they've been cut there probably down inside the metal channel at the front of the bed.
hi guys. I have been watching you guys for a long time. all the way back in drag racing u should get back into it. anyways. I had a 97 silverado k 2500 I love my chevy truck now I have a 2003 6.0 k2500 4x4 ls chevy silverado. it it a lot more complicated to warm on. like technical stuff it a lot of things I would love to ask you but it would take another episode lol. for starter I lift it 2 in. with a plow What is the best shocks can put the truck to carry the plow ? and I notice I have to get into it for it to goo and I notice the brake and abs lights comes on sometimes. or if you was to do an episode for that year I would love it. thanks
Dudes!! Beautiful restore. But very bad ..I went to BROTHERS TRUCK and everything you advertised for this K5 rebuild is totally out of stock ! Its been 1 year and they still don't have any of these parts I need to finish my build ..Grrr
Its all a matter of opinion man. I would rather leave the stock grille in their, it doesn't allow as many bugs to get to the radiator. And the more original the truck is, the more money its worth. So with that being said. The truck would hold value better with the stock grille.
How can you possibly think that after market grill looks better than the original?
That new grille looks way better I personally would of done a billit grille. Also a ls and a 4l80e would be nice swap.
@@taylorh3930 kjjj
The final shot shows a totally different grill than that bare bones repop grill lol
The Blazer looks awesome after all of the upgrades.
Anyone else thing the new door panels looked like shit that the old ones need needed some tlc?
I ordered them and I threw them in the trash plastic shit
You two don’t know what you’re doing at all.
Someone’s Jealous 😂
@@theodoreshaeffer7331 I have two 89 Suburbans and a 73 Crew Cab; what would I be jealous about?
Those seats weren't in bad shape-and the vinyl would probably wear better than that velour.
The old door panels looked better
...and were the right color. The truck went from 'pretty original' to 'molested' throughout the course of this video...
I have a 1986 myself, love it, it's got a 400r with over drive can't beat it for gas mileage it gets as good as my wife's 2003 Durango 5.9 himmi
When they sprayed them rims, they really mess them up
Had a 79, give anything to have one of these again👍 fixed up.
16:07 and if neighbors still keep complaining it's because there jealous LoL

I am restoring an 84 and 73 k5s... We are budget everything. Channel doesnt have alot of content but we have some.
All it needed is a new dash. Everything else could have been cleaned up or repainted.

Love the old K-5 Blazers but on this one, should have stuck with vinyl interior or upgraded to leather, never painted the wheels or badges.
Send me the old front bumper please....
Looks beautiful. What is the name of those rims that are on this truck called? I have them on my blazer but one of them is missing on the rear and I need to replace it and have no idea what I see you called.
Old seats looked better. You ruined the authenticity of this survivor K5.
Looks incredible

Bruno's George Costanza reference was ace's!
If you think this one looks bad you should see my 86. Just did outer rocker panels today if that says anything lol

Where are the clear wind deflector glass wings on the shells sliding windows? That trim looks weird like that with those notches in it
Those second generation Chevy K5 Blazers & GMC Jimmys were produced from 1973 through 1991.
95% of what you did was unnecessary
Yeah... I liked the old tires and wheels better..
Hey I looked at brothers trucks and they don’t have those rear side panels for sale?. What are they labeled as?

4:08 your passengers just locked the doors instead of rolling down the window AGAIN!
I will take the old parts!
@TruckU what exactly is that adhesive you’re using for the weather stripping? Is it safe for any seals, like around the tailgate, etc?
I'm gonna get a K5 today dammit
I have 2 k5s I'm building on my channel. I love them. Actually looking for a 3rd

A bottle of Windex would have been way cheaper than a new hood and door panels...
Awesome video. My pops had an ‘85 K5. I just really hate the radio voice from one of the guys.
I have an 86 k10 suburban that i would love and plan to do it all comes down to finances having four wonderful child it is a bit difficult.
I wish my floor pans looked that good.
This is painful
How much did you spend
Where can I get the top interior emblem ( caution) for removing the top ( for 1988 ) and the interior rear panel ?
Gotta change the gearing to run the 35” wheels....
No u dont.
Wrong. I tow my v-drive to the lake, no problem
Wht size lift and tires do y’all have
Inspired me to grab one to do up for my UA-cam channel. Just getting started. Be sure to check it out!!
With a name like _Shortcut Garage?_ Nah, no thanks...I think I'll pass. I want mine built right, no cutting corners for me
What's the difference between "pieces" and "parts?"
Any aftermarket companies making door panels for the 95-99 Tahoes?
you may have good luck at pull-a-part yards or similar
Lmc truck
You didn’t just say cray cray.........
I'd fix those drip rails before thinking about the interior
FT Neighbors!
from where to buy parts in my country we have shotage in spare parts i have 1990 chevy
Don't ever put K5 and Bronco in the same sentence. Lol
so true
Does anyone make a cowl hood that actually has built-in space for the air cleaner to stick up in...?
it doesnt seem like these guys like each other too much
Was originally a 6.2 diesel by the looks of the wait to start light on the cluster
نتمنى تتوفر عندنا قطع الغيار والديكورات الداخليه 💔

You need to hit up LMC Truck. A total no-brainer
Was this a race or what?
I have a 1989 chevy suberban 2500 my neighbors don't like it i love my front yard Americana Art
And hang some air fresheners from the rearview mirror
15:12 you know keeping along with that cray cray theme. Do not ever do that again man are you 22 or are you 6
More then welcome to work on my k5 Anytime!!! For real...
Last year for carb
5k later
I’m thinking flames painted on the sides would be gnarly....
You might want to maybe think again
such a waste of $ & materials!.....gimmick show
Only 15g lol
That grille is ugly. A billet grille looks 100,000 times better.
