The data that got cutoff will likely end up corrupted. I know hen I've tried burning audio CDs and accidentally cancelled the burn process, parts of the song would get cut off or otherwise not play at all. Sometimes a CD may be unreadable.

I always used another program called Nero and im glad to see you have shown a how to do this on windows media . I was having issues with the windows recognising the Sandstorm. Music is great and so was cd's to put them on. And still is for certain applications. Thanks for sharing. ✊🏼
Can you recommend a external CD/DVD drive that has a solid reputation for playing burned CDs/DVDs? I had previously bought a LG CD/DVD drive but it would not play the burned discs.
I am glad you showed the drive playing DVDs. I just bought a Roofull external DVD drive it shares the same pop up box, I can not get the unit to play DVDs properly using VLC. The picture quality is good and the sound quality is good, but I get audio dropouts that are evenly spaced and repeat consistently. I was able to rip a DVD that has the audio dropouts, but then rather than drop outs I got out of synch audio and video. Because the issue is consistent with other players, I think it is a conflict between my computer the drive and Windows 10.

How does one get an external DC/DVD drive to read an instructional program CD ? All old computers with built in drives did it automatically. Now the new external drives won't do it?
it depends on how old the game is and if it's compatible with your operating system. I recently installed a 11 year old dvd drive into my new windows 10 computer because I wanted to play my old games. Those games can't run on windows 10 so I had to install emulators to play them.

The extra USB plug is for extra power. In most cases, simply plugging in the main USB connector will work fine, but if the USB port can't deliver enough power, you may need to plug in the 2nd connector. I don't think this is too common though. As for playing your movies, what software are you trying to use? If you're using Windows 10 or newer, the built-in Windows Media Player doesn't playback DVD movies anymore since Microsoft didn't include the necessary codec for DVD movies. You can use VLC or other 3rd party programs.

I think an external hard drive is the best option. With a CD, you're limited to about 650 Mb. If you have more data than that, you'll need to use more disks. If you have a lot of data, like a lot of pictures and videos or programs or otherwise large files, you're going to be using a ton of CDs. With DVDs, you can get up to 4.7 GB of capacity, but that's still not that much. there are dual-layer DVDs which give you up to 8.5 GB. The point is that optical media isn't the best for this type of use case. External hard drives can come into multi-terabyte capacities which is far more than what optical media supports. but to each their own.
hello, thank you for the video. i bought and hooked up a similar look-alike burner, made by rooful. i burned a music album from a stick onto a cd but it won't play in any cd players- but it does play in my dvd player= can you explain that? p.s. i'm old too!
What software did you use to burn the disc? And did you burn it as an Audio CD? If you burned it as a data disc, most typical CD players won't read them. Also, different CD players have different capabilities. I've found that the very old CD players and the low end ones have a hard time reading burnt CD audio. I would assume modern players don't have this issue anymore, but I haven't really used a CD player in a long time.
I've just bought an Hatoku external multi functional optical drive, simply to burn cd's. You just connect it to your laptop, log on to I- Tunes and away you go. A 5 year old could use it :)
?? What are "those" files? If you're talking about music, then yes. You would "rip" the audio CD to your computer and then you can transfer the music files to a flash drive. The built-in Windows Media Player (assuming you're using Windows) can rip audio CDs. Just make sure you read the manual for your car's stereo system to see what music files it supports. Most support MP3, but its good to double check.

The point is that optical media isn't the best for this type of use case. External hard drives can come into multi-terabyte capacities which is far more than what optical media supports. but to each their own.
Can you still pc games on it like call of duty united offensive or the original call of duty?
hello, thank you for the video. i bought and hooked up a similar look-alike burner, made by rooful. i burned a music album from a stick onto a cd but it won't play in any cd players- but it does play in my dvd player= can you explain that? p.s. i'm old too!
Sir can you do a tutorial for downloading games from 📀DVD for 💻 loptop
That's simple. If you are talking about PC games, the disc is readable. Just drag and drop to your HDD.
Can you then transfer those files from the laptop to a flash stick to play in the car?
Can this Dvd players be used to install apps that come on CDs?
Thank you.
Hi there, My laptop does not have a cd player. I want/need the ability to copy cd's to my iphone. I have many cd's I cant play as I have no player. I will look for one of these right now. I believe now, in 2022, I can burn the cd to itunes and then transfer to my iphone. Can you confirm thats true ? Thanks much.
Does it work with tablets and phones?
Unlikely. And there's no point really.
Does burning works with any portable cd/dvd player or does it need to have some kind of burning feature on it? Wanna try it with my concert dvds.
A couple of us old guys want to know if this works hooked up to a hifi receiver, & should we use one of these or just buy a standard cheap CD player & hook it up digitally to the hifi to use its dac?
Hi thanks but is it necessary to register after downloading download to use my external dvd player
It's got good power management mine use two cables but the is nothing better than a physical ownership of media .
Will it work on a tv that has a USB port?
Can I install gaming on it also?? GTA 5 for example...
Great video. My asus laptop have no disc drive ugh. Its been years since I've burned a disc. Crazy thing I been getting request for burned discs. Wonder if you can rip the DVD video onto computer like you did the audio and possibly burn the DVD movie. I can't wait to get this
All of a sudden my ASUS external DVD writer is showing up under my '' this pc'' as a ''BD-RE Drive'' as opposed to it showing up as a ''DVD RW DRIVE'' as my other external DVD Writer is. Am I right to assume the BD means blue ray? It will not recognize my DVD+R DISCS, My DVD-R, or my DVD+RW discs, and it has been working well with those discs up until just recently. Any help is appreciated. Thanks
