@@TheHennaGuys please do I was about to order some dye and hair treatments from y'all today but now I'm second guessing and not sure which color to choose. I have naturally curly hair somewhere in the 3a or 3b range. It's not the healthiest curls and they're dry and frizzy often plus itchy flaky scalp issues. But it hasn't had any dye in the hair for over 4 years so it's all my natural color, a medium to dark brown/chestnut. But it's not quite as dark as the dark brown swatch you used in the video (the 2nd darkest brown not the brown/black swatch). It has some natural red tints to it especially in the sunlight and I'm looking to make it more red or auburn to bring the warmth and red out more and hopefully not just in the sunlight. Even very red would be great as long as it wasn't too orangey. I was thinking of just using the 100% henna option you have and mixing it with the Alma in 4 parts henna 1 part alma ratio. But I don't know if it's the right ratio to protect the curls or to get any color. What would you suggest?
Since you do have curlier hair, I would recommend adding amla to the henna as well as a weekly hair mask using Amla powder. That should help keep your curl pattern. -Hilary
Thank you for sharing this. I found a website that applied henna to different colors of sheep wool and showed similar results but this is great to see. I think my hair is approximately 40 % gray with a large patch by my hairline, while my natural hair color is brownish-black (mousy black). I can't wait to try the auburn henna mix.
I'm kind of shocked to see how brown everything turned. My hair is the same as the light brown color and when I use pure henna it turns it gingery auburn. Here it just turned it dark brown?
Hello! Your hair most likely picked up more henna powder than the dark brown powder. Try reapplying. You can also mix henna with brewed coffee or tea for less red tones and to help deepen the color.
I was thinking about getting this product but It looks like it would turn my hair color(light brown) darker brown and I am trying to get it to the brighter orange, redhead natural look. Any idea how to get the orange coppery color to show through and not brown?
Hi Yolanda! The orange red or any of our other red dyes work beautiful on natural red heads. I'll attach a link to our before & after page posted by customers. This might help you decide on your color. www.thehennaguys.com/pages/before-after
@@yolandawinter2244 I was curious if you tried it! I have red hair that is beginning to darken naturally and i was considering henna for a more red undertone
@@kaylynn3459 Hi Kay, I haven't tried it as yet, but would still like to, though I'm a little concerned about what would happen to the now substantial amounts of grey I'm seeing. I have a feeling that I might become uber bright orange, which is not what I want. I hope you have a great result if you try the henna x
So, if I want an ORANGE or yellowish color (not cherry red), and as bright as possible, I just have to use the product as it comes after buying it, and apply it on a bleached hair, am I correct? Do I need to add lemon juice like I have seen in other videos? Thank you.
Hi Vicky, yes you can add lemon juice. You can also email us at sales@thehennaguys.com with a picture of your hair now and we can help you with your hair journey.
Thank you for making swatches these are really helpful, but I MUST know why you say "platinium" instead of platinum, is it like an aluminum/aluminium thing??
I’m so unsure which product I should get, I have natural dark blonde.. the closest strand I see in your strand tests is the light brown one.. but all the dyes come out more brown than red… I want almost a disney Merida color with a little brown tone..
Hello! With your hair color, there should be no problem getting that color. I'll provide a link to our hair dyes. You can also add 1 part light brown to 3 parts of the red powder to get those brown tones. Use brewed coffee as the liquid base. I also recommend doing a strand test beforehand too. www.thehennaguys.com/collections/henna-hair-dye
Hello! The red colors will show up on naturally lighter hair just fine. If it is darker hair, there will be more red undertones than in the overall resulting color.
I love your videos, but why doesn't anyone ever test on natural red hair? I'm a natural red & I want the conditioning & fortifying effects of henna without changing my natural color much & no one ever tests on natural gingers.
We do have customers with natural red hair that use our henna dyes to give their hair a little extra color, shine and fullness. We are always looking for customer before and afters! If you are interested, please email us at sales@thehennaguys.com
8:15 "but don't worry" showing the orange red like it's ugly or something? I don't know if I'd trust hair demonstrations from someone who doesn't want to show theirs. But it was informative, thanks for doing it.
Orange-red sometimes tend to come out really bright and we always have such questions how can we tone it down-make it more darker- So that just came out naturally thinking of our FAQ:)
This is so helpful! I can't find this comparison done for any of the other colors. Please make more videos like this!
We are planning to do this with all of our shades, actually. So please keep an eye out for them! -Hilary

I wish you would test this on some shades of red as well. I guess the first color is closest to my hair color, but my hair isn't brown.
Will keep this in mind and work in our videos coming up! Thank you

This is Indian henna.
