- This is a review I've wanted to do for ages but the completionist in me didn't want to start until I'd 100% the game, and that meant winning the Peach's Castle Tournament...

What an amazing game. This game is the only one to date that makes me go back to the GBC from time to time. It is such a charming experience, and you did a great job covering it in your review video. Personally, I think this is the best Mario Golf game out there. The game is not shy to use golf lingo all over the place, and it doesn't do that at the expense of the player. It feels like a love letter to golf and to gaming.
One little detail to add is that the position of the pin / hole changes every time you play a course. That makes it the more satisfying to replay, since sometimes you can find an unexpected challenge, and the courses you may have already learned still have some variability to them.

Great review. I find it cool other people love this game, it's such an hidden gem (IGN gave it a 10/10, yet it doesn't even have it's own distinct wikipedia page). I remember my father let me choose it from a used games store for 10$cad ahead of a long road trip and it's the best 10$ someone ever spent on me. I still play it to this day and I feel like buying a switch just to play Golf Story. I hope you can make your channel a success, your review was really great and clear (albeit, maybe indicate that it contains spoilers). Have a nice day sir.

I got this game for Christmas some 21 years ago, used to play it with my father (He finished it before I did xD), he used to set up the shots and I executed them. He had to translate the dialogue for me, too. I did manage to beat it on my own eventually though :D
The game saving your best shots to watch again was a real treat

I still think this is the best game for the gb color. You can pick it up and play anytime and never feels like you are missing out of anything on more advanced consoles. 10/10 from me

I just bought a GBA and this game last night to be able to play. I cant find my GBC or this game from 15 years ago so I wanted to relive my childhood favorite handheld game again. Cant wait to play it again!

started playing yesterday on the gba, a super amazing game indeed, especially for playing it on the go
I prefer Mario Golf over Mario Tennis. The tennis games just dragged for me. But man Camelot was/is a great developer! Golden Sun and the Mario golf and tennis games are great. Hell when Nintendo partnered with Capcom we got so many good games, and even a few legendary ones. I still love the Oracle games on GBC.

Ah, I never owned this game but got it from a friend for a few weeks. I first thought Golf was boring but the combination with the RPG story mode turned out to be addicting. I then wanted to get the game for the N64 but then read that it didn't have a comparable story mode. How lame! This reminded me of Pokémon Stadium, it's like the original Pokémon but without the RPG fun. Sometimes the 8 bit version is better than the 64 bit one. :)
Very true! Sometimes the limitations of a console force the developer to get creative in other ways. There is a GBA sequel though which is supposed to be very good. I've yet to try it myself though.
i loved mario tennis on the GBC more than any other tennis game ever because of its cool rpg elements and story+tournament structures, looks like this is very similar so maybe i should give it a shot.

Can you play the RPG style story mode as the unlockable characters? I've recently unlocked some of the unlockable characters but can only play "Stroke" and "Training" with them.
No, the unlockable characters are just for the more generic modes.
Wish you could more reviews in future.
