@fightTIPS please help me. my lower part of my knuckles is getting messed up, not the main knuckles, but the part before the fingertips. would ur tips be the same?
In competition you have to were gloves, MMA or boxing, so you should focus on hitting with the gloves (not talking about self-defense). But if you really want hard knuckles then you should hit downward in bucket of sand, and squeeze wet jute sack
Focus because you have to ease in your punches bare knuckle on the heavybag to avoid an injury. With the padding of boxing gloves you can hit pretty much full force and you’re all good.
My issue is that whenever I go bareknuckle I start punching harder and harder because the increased speed excites me and then I'm a a point where my wrists can't take it anymore where it's usually the shoulder that absorbs the hooks and its easier to negate the impact of your own punch but bareknuckle can be dangerous especially for a power puncher
After a while your skin gets tougher and thicker. Problem is some people when they take the gloves off can't punch correct anymore which is bad you should know both.
@@jasimabubacker4178 had the same problem, I just threw less punches and focused more on form and keeping everything solid. I actually prefer going bareknuckle now save for when I have to throw uppercuts.
Remember guys the knuckles especially for new fighters are delicate and complex so a break can put you out of commission for months so don't risk it slowly strengthen and condition them but don't do it without protection
It took me a full year to get my hands and wrists conditioned enough to be hitting my heavy bag just as hard bare knuckle as I do with gloves. At the beginning, I could hit the bag no more than 5 times at half power. Now I can do a full 100% workout for an hour. But it took a loooong time. I even had to do no punching at all for one month because my hands were so jacked up that I could barely hold things. But they healed stronger. Same thing with conditioning the shins. Mine are still pretty weak, but can do a few dozen times on my heavy bag before breaking instead of only a few. It takes a lot of patience
Yeah i remember when i was 10 or 11 my dad got me a punching bag but it was one where it has a weight on the bottom and stands up. It wasnt a heavy bag either. But anyway that bag was really soft and it hurt my knuckles abd wrist so badly without even hitting it hard. Now im at the stage where i can punch heavy bags as hard as possible and it doesnt hurt

I do it until I start to bleed, and I punch everything, the ground, a stick, personally I dented the side of my tall freezer with side punches (I didn't know or think to punch regularly so I punched with my knuckles/ hands sideways, I have a bunch of dents on my freezer and my knuckles are definitely scarred) leaving the freezer with a single punch to be covered with four small dents from my knuckles that are on top of one another and some other dents that are also punches but are proper punches (knuckles forward with your hand not sideways like I did before many times, leaving vertical instead of horizontal dents 👊🏿) -Jack

My suggestion if you dont have gloves or wraps is you just work on technique lightly and as the callouses build start bumping up the power slowly. Never be too eager to beat the shit out of the bag, it is a tool, and like any tool you learn to do things safely. Nobody had a good time hammering something the first time

Terry Silver- Hey, anything else you want? Kreese- Yeah. Make his Knuckles Bleed. Terry Silver- Hey.......HEY I LIKE THAT!!!! OH, I LIKE THAT JOHNNY! I'M GONNA USE THAT! HAHAHAHAHA!!!!!
The only time a grazed my knuckle on the heavy bag was because I threw a left hook, but had bad timing because the bag was still swing so I grazed the knuckle on the middle finger on the stitches and it was a pretty bad graze. Scabbed over, got a pretty small scar, but incentive to improve my timing
Relax dude he doesn't need a doctor 😂 You've just built scar tissue on your knuckles so the skin is alot tougher and less prone to breaking, I'm the exact same.
Turmeric powder mixed with little water and wrap them knuckles over night use it for few day for fast result but from the first over night knuckles will dry and new skin should appear immediately
It's about balance. If you would tell these stuff to early days Okinawa karate practicioners they would laugh at you and keep punching their makiwara.Nowadays though you should take safety into consideration too.
The way I heal quickly is to pick the injured skin off the wound and letting the injury rest without interference and if another sab forms take it off as soon as possible and as carefully to prevent scarring
I was punching one of those bags and some how I did a little cut in the bag and then I saw blood and then realised my nucleses where teared a lot and I just started few days ago and my coach was shocked by how I punched the bag
Also, if your knuckles hurt every time you punch, you will be counter-conditioning yourself to hitting hard. Not a lot if it's just one time, but if it's happening again and again it's definitely not good.

The skin on my hands got so use to it. But i do have permanent scars from before.
Aquaphor works really good for cut lips and scabbed knuckles. Just apply a decent amount before u sleep and u should be good :)
Ive got to take care of my money makers. Thanks for the advice man!
I am a Muay Thai fighter and If I am I training before I start I bare knuckle the bag we don’t complain we are disaplined to carry on through anything
man I grazed my knuckles after just 2 rounds of mitt work today😂I hadn’t done any boxing for 2 yrs, but this was just too much. Can’t imagine how fragile my hands are. My hands were as protected as possible, I even had the gel thing inside the wrap. 😢
Thanks for the tip Shane 👍👍

Crazy I noticed after some time I don’t cut my knuckles anymore even when barehanded
You may well've already damaged them. Seek a doctor.
Relax dude he doesn't need a doctor 😂 You've just built scar tissue on your knuckles so the skin is alot tougher and less prone to breaking, I'm the exact same.
Jasper Auld what? 😂😂 it’s called conditioning your knuckles if u know what you’re doing
Jordan forreal lol that guy buggin😂
How many arthiritc old Karateka do we have to see before we admit that aggressive knuckle conditioning is bad for us?
Very useful tips🔥
l don't know why people think they're "tough" for hitting the bag bare-knuckle, wear gloves if you don't know what you're doing don't be stupid
3:08 he's right , shadowboxing is harder ( which means better ) than heavy bag workout
Good sir... You given a great knowledge...
This is what my master said to me in shaolin, if you punch something, and you hurt yourself doing it, you are doing it wrong
Need a video on mike tyson's footwork and head movement and drills to enhance them
Turmeric powder mixed with little water and wrap them knuckles over night use it for few day for fast result but from the first over night knuckles will dry and new skin should appear immediately
It's about balance. If you would tell these stuff to early days Okinawa karate practicioners they would laugh at you and keep punching their makiwara.Nowadays though you should take safety into consideration too.
Lmao yes they would, that is true, that is what would separate the long term arthritis & being fine at 80
The way I heal quickly is to pick the injured skin off the wound and letting the injury rest without interference and if another sab forms take it off as soon as possible and as carefully to prevent scarring
You should apply some anti bacterial cream to prevent infections don't mess with infections they can kill you
I was punching one of those bags and some how I did a little cut in the bag and then I saw blood and then realised my nucleses where teared a lot and I just started few days ago and my coach was shocked by how I punched the bag
I just bought a heavy bag and now shane is saying shadow boxing is better than punching bag....
Also, if your knuckles hurt every time you punch, you will be counter-conditioning yourself to hitting hard. Not a lot if it's just one time, but if it's happening again and again it's definitely not good.
What’s up Shane? Shane, what are your thoughts about martial arts falling into the wrong hands? I know its very rare, but there are those who learn martial arts for the wrong reasons. Some people learn martial arts primarily to pick fights and beat people up for fun. Even though it's rare, it does happen. Please tell me your thoughts Shane.
Hey Shane, great content. How about a video on dealing with counter punchers?
I missed the bag because I got rly mad and was wailing on a freestanding bag
I failed belt testing today so I punched my punching bag untill my hands bled
I wear gloves and wraps but my knuckles still look all crusted up...a buddy told me I'm the only guy he knows who's hands look like feet!
I'm assuming he means feet with lots of thick calluses or bunions...I dunno...but still...
I don't mind the look...no pain at all...no bleeding or breaking of the skin since they're so callused...
And they give the appearance of someone you shouldn't fuck with...so, that's a bonus!
Apperciate the fight tips bro keep it up long time sub keeping my technique in check
For the underdogs
Who Else is sitting in the locker room with bloody hands right now?
I was spinning the bag man
