We use lemon on fried seafood in the south. Never thought of using it on chicken. Great idea. And mayo for a marinade? Wow. Looking forward to trying this.
I made these today and my very picky 7 yr old grandson loved them. We all did, but he rarely ever eats more than a piece or two of chicken. He ate two skewers of this chicken, so I will most definitely be making these again very soon. The flavor was fantastic, it never occurred to me to use mayonnaise as a marinade. I had seen people use it on potatoes for wedge fries but never on any meat. I really am thankful for this recipe, and I recommend it to anyone who wants some delicious chicken. :)

You can also put it in a fryer with same sticks. I also add colored peppers,onions and potatoes on the same stick. And I marinade chickenwith garlic powder or squeezed garlic,red and black pepper,salt and sour cream

Mrs. Dash is a combination of spices and herbs. You can make your own preferred combination using ingredients such as garlic powder, onion powder, pepper, parsley, thyme, sage, marjoram, etc..
My mother made these but with a mixture of pork and veal. The coating had cornmeal in it, I think. She passed away 25 years ago and I don’t have her recipe. Honestly, I don’t think she used one. I could probably duplicate it from taste. I’m fairly certain. I would use chicken like you do. I will be making these soon. Thank you. You know, you could add some Parmesan cheese to the breadcrumbs and you’d have Parmesan chicken on a skewer.
This is how I bake halved chicken breasts, but I add in grated parmesan in the Italian bread crumb mix. The benefit of frying smaller chicken cuts like this, however, is that the mayo is sealed in. Baking melts the mayo and it becomes more oily in the glass dish.
Watching you cook makes me realize what the cavemen felt like when the first caveman showed them fire 🔥 It’s like I see you do it, you talk so casually and it looks like a grown man like myself could handle this but when I’m holding the knife I start worrying about cutting off my fingers, then I get confused about teaspoons of ingredients being in little bowls, and the only gloves I can find for my Shrek hands are welding gloves and then I start to think about how I could clean them and I’m back to eating cereal! 😂 Will you please just start selling prepackaged foods?
