Can I just say to anyone making this amazing recipe, marinating it overnight or even better, 2 nights makes a massive difference in the flavour. I also put butter in a saucepan with the leftover marinade, simmer it for 10 mins and then keep brushing it over the chicken after 5-10 mins of cooking
Yes, agree with you on the marinating. I don't usually go longer than 24 hours tho, as I find chicken can get a bit mushy, as the muscle fibers aren't dense like beef. Great idea with the leftover marinade.....will try that!!
I’ve tried this recipe twice…. Once in a pan, once on coal fire.. It’s an INSANELY different flavour over the fire. Didn’t realise that was such a key to the flavour!! Awesome taste
Made this last night. It was delicious. I omitted chili flakes, sprinkled onion powder instead, and added the tomato paste. It ws delicious! Thanks for sharing.
I’ve made this twice. The first time with crushed chillies which turned out quite harsh. The second time I sourced Pul Biber and it was absolutely delicious. Great channel, great recipe.
I made this recipe more than once and it is healthy and delicious. I love it. I do not get chillies like the ones in the video, so I used another type of pepper. I also didn't bother to use skewers. Thank you for sharing this lovely recipe. Big fan.
I love Turkish food. Gunes do a delicious orzo and another restaurant I like does a lovely shish. One of the spices that make a difference is sumac. Yummy.
The chicken looks juicy.. the marinade is subtle yet flavorful. The combination of roasted chilies, tomatoes and the kebab inside the pita bread, wow... 👍👍
I never comment but I’ve just cooked this and my whole family including the fussy daughter absolutely loved it!!!!L I’m not exaggerating it’s the best kebab I’ve ever eaten. The amount of marinade drowned 4 large breasts and could’ve easily done 6 or 7, wasn’t bothered. Best marinade ever!!!!!!!!! Thanks dude
@@HungryManKitchen I made the chicken wing recipe over the weekend. They were good but these chicken kebabs are AMAZING! Better than restaurant quality. 🤤🤤🤤 I would love more bbq kebabs recipes if possible. I'm asian and I love turkish food. Thanks
Sure, both are possible and works really nice. Charcoal just gives the smoky and bbq flavor, but grill function on oven or cast iron grill plate also works perfectly.
Yessir I have died and gone to heaven right here right now I am in awe of these beautiful Turkish Chicken Shish Kebabs what an exquisite barbecuing event to witness thank you Hungry Man once again for sharing yet another glorious feast 😋👍
Hi, traditionally we dont use sauces with grilled kebabs bit I think a garlicky sauce like middle eastern Toum or greek style Tzatziki sauce would go perfectly with this.
Saw this for the first time over at Eat More Vegans. I came here and followed your recipe using Aleppo pepper and harissa as a chili paste. Also used the tomato paste which I recommend as well. Just a wonderful marinade. I also made your lavash recipe and that worked out great as well and I had never made it before. I'm not Turkish but my son works and lives there so I am pretty well acquainted with the food (from California). I felt like I was eating the real thing. Thanks! Became a subscriber.
Great idea to use harisa and actually many kebab restaurants use tomato paste in the marinades, I just wanted to keep it simple but it works really well with the marinade. I'm also living in the Netherlands but miss the food in Turkey, that's why I first started a cooking channel. Thanks for the nice comments!
You are a great wonderful you gave me such a good tip I am always my chickens are sticking to the grill now I’m going to put the brakes I could never thought of that I’m a great cook here but I missed this
The idea of using the bricks to hold the skewers was brilliant. The chicken looks amazing and the tomatoes and onions are the perfect t accompaniments. You have an amazing channel!!
I could eat chicken kebabs, and Mediterranean chicken gyros for lunch and dinner , every single day of the calendar yr. except for Thanksgiving and Xmas! no CAP
Looks amazing. I don’t have anything to juice the onion , would you recommend I just put in a little bit of onion purée instead or just skip that part altogether? Thanks in advance. New subscriber here .
You need the juice to tenderize the chicken, you can add if you can blend the whole onion, but in that case you need to clean off the pulp after marination.
You should try this salad, all kebab saloons in Turkey serves chicken shish kebab with this its called "sumaklı soğan" : Onion(raw, chopped) +sumac powder+parsley(chopped) +pomegranate syrup+salt+chili flakes Another awesome salad for kebabs "Közlenmiş sebze salatası(roasted vegetables salad)" : roasted capia peppers(or red bell peppers), roasted eggplant, chopped parsley, pomegranate syrup, olive oil, salt; mix them all together, maybe with some chopped onions.
The recipe looks so good. We make boneless chicken tikka with similar spices but what I really like was the addition of onion juice, turmeric, chili paste and tomato paste. We don’t add these spices. I will test cook tomorrow then next week I will make it for ladies luncheon IA.

Waaah. . Amazing. I like it.
Chilis will break a dish if their not well cooked into it.
Try frying them off in a little oil before adding to the mix.
Where did you get them from ? Do they have any other name?
You can look for Turkish chili flakes or Aleppo chili flakes are allmost the same.
This channel is massively underrated. Holy hell I hope you blow up!!
Thank you, I hope so :)
That's not a very nice thing to say...

Hi. What type of pepper did you use?
@@sashramkissoon4987
l used what we call in Portugal and Spain pimento padron. The idea was go get a pepper that has some heat but not too much.
I made this last night and it was a hit! Unbelievable flavor! Thanks for sharing this recipe! ❤

What would be the ideal temperature & time for cooking this in the oven, please? Some of us are missing a garden BBQ :)
I would use max temp with broiler function, but rotate often not to burn a side.
These are one of my favourite Turkish foods. Turkish food is certainly some of the best dishes. Way better than western fast foods.
The marinades you make are always great-
Great family style meal with the caramelized onions and the peppers- I like those flat skewers.
Thanks so much!
Seeing so many positive comments, I can't wait to finally try myself this weekend. Thank you so much.

Hope you will enjoy this and the party!
Bricks in the grill to accommodate the skewers!!! How brilliant it is...👍
that looks so tasty love those skewers
The apartment I live doesn't allow a grill on the balcony how do you recommend to do this in the oven with skewers over a deep baking pan
I would place them on the upper rack and grill function at 220C. Just rotate them often as possible to have an even char on the outside.
Go to the park... rent a bbq place.
Wow, My friend, It's a great food. I really want to try it.
Thank you for showing me a good video. I look forward to more food videos. Thank you.

Just looking at the color of that marinade, I am getting mighty hungry……when I go back to Florida, I need to find myself a Turkish restaurant……..

what kind of charcoal did you cook the kebabs over and what kind of kind of peppers did you roast? Are they spicy?
They are mild to mildly hot, close to jalapenos or maybe padron peppers. I am usually using oak charcoals for direct grills.
I could eat chicken kebabs, and Mediterranean chicken gyros for lunch and dinner , every single day of the calendar yr. except for Thanksgiving and Xmas! no CAP

Yes, but thighs works a bit better in terms of flavor.
