I agree with Donesha, sometimes you have to go old school. If some of these kids were getting a good spanking, just maybe they would be so unruly today. To each their own. No parent can tell another parent how to parent. No 2 children are the same. Some believe that every now again a behind needs a spanking. Some believe time-out works, some believe take away their devices those things work at different times for different children. My household my rules period. One thing Im not doing is taking advice from another adult who doesn't live in my home. You dont know the day to day or anything else for that matter. To all the parents parent how you do. No, disciplining a child through spanking is not abuse. There's a difference between spanking and being beaten. Sometimes children can just be talked to and other times spankings maybe necessary to get through to them, with a discussion after to increase their understanding.
There are several scriptures that support discipline and spanking.
For example, Proverb 22:15-
Folly is bound up in the heart of a child,but the rod of discipline drives it far from him.
Proverbs 23:13-14
Don't withhold discipline from a child; if you strike him with a rod, he will not die. If you strike him with the rod, you will save him from Sheol(death).

I raised four children in my home and I never could touch them in anger because I watched people put hands on kids without real correction.. My children are adults now and I’m proud to say no one went to jail and they all work good jobs and are responsible..I think it build’s anxiety and anger kids can hear and understand there not dumb ..

Great topic and I'm with Nana on the whoopings. I grew up getting whoopings and I thought I would discipline my kids the same one day...But I don't think it is in me. 🤷
There needs to be consequences but spanking is not the answer for everything. These days so many cases of folks taking it to far. Imo, you should always talk with your child and discipline them out of love and not anger. When you discipline out of love it may be more strategic, like taking privileges etc. I think the greatest lesson you can give your children is the life you live before them. How you treat them, how you treat others, do you walk what you talk and do you educate them and celebrate them on the righteous way to walk? because if we dont the world will try to show them their way. I can't say spanking affected me in any way negatively, but I also was raised in home that taught me in the righteous way to go, so that helped. But I will say spankings is not something I believe in anymore. But it was the old school way and they did what they were taught.

I was raised that way but I no longer believe in it. It's rooted in slavery and it's something that was passed down through the generations. I believe there are other ways to discipline and teach our kids other than whooping them.
