Roberta is BACK!!!!!! :3 Sierra Games defined my childhood, and I can't wait to share this new world with the next generation! Definitely getting this one on Day 1!
It’s difficult to express how I feel about this adventure game in words. As a kid I adventured in the worlds created by Sierra and it defined who I am in so many ways. I also lived during the early tech boom days and started this journey on a monochrome Olivetti PS24. This game celebrates how far the tech and gaming industries have come since the seventies when Colossal Cave was originally released…it is also a reflection of the enduring spirit of true entrepreneurs and adventurers like Ken and Roberta Williams!
Bravo! Few things are more joyous to witness than a renewal of the creative and imaginative gifts of some very great game designers. Who knows, maybe a Zork re-make is next. Either way, you've given new life to, and helped perpetuate a timeless classic and milestone in the history of computer gaming for the benefit of future generations.
Thanks for reminding me of Zork. I haven’t thought about it in decades. Infocom did some incredible games. It would be awesome if our effort spurs others to bring new life to some of the old classic games. A lot of people will be watching to see how our game does
This has so much soul and love put into it. Haven’t been as hyped for a game since I watched the non-interactive demo of Return to Zork which I had on floppy in the 90s. Can’t wait!
The original was such a great game. I remember navigating the caverns or whatever it was, n, e, s, w, etc till finally got out, then printed out the logs of commands to find an optimized root. XYZZY. All sorts of memories. I hope this is going to be as memorable as well!
It will be! We are being VERY careful to preserve everything about the original that made it great. We're treating it as though we are historians trying to get every detail exactly right.
It would be neat if Crowther and Don Woods AND Scott Adams could somehow make cameo appearances in the game (such as a photo or reference found randomly).
Apologies -- I misunderstood the question. I am scrambling out the door now .. I'll post a little video later tonight showing how it works. It's actually quite simple .. once you discover the Xyzzy rock, the magic spell goes into a special slot in inventory, and when you use it from the right place, it works its magic. It's a little strange in that we use the normal inventory interface, and it isn't really an inventory item, but it was the best idea we had. Plugh, Fee Fie Foe Foo, and Plover had the same issue. This will make more sense when you see it tomorrow...

@@gamingblowsofficial I have played and loved kings field. This game is going to be a this is going to be a reimagining of a computer game made in the 1970s. So if you like adventure games you will be interested in this game.
I looked to see what King's Field is -- Our game is more of a "thinking game" with very little action. There's lots of movement through the caves, but fighting is like 1% of all you'll do, and the fighting is pretty simplistic. This is more of an adventure game, in the style of King's Quest. It's based on the text game but completely different. It's more like comparing the book Lord of the RIngs to the movie. They are similar, but also different mediums.
Hope you don't mind, but i'm currently working on a video going into the history of Adventure and i'll include this trailer to show it is being re imagined
We did! It’s a long story, but we’re back. I can’t tell you if it just for this one game or for many more. We’ll see how people like this game and then see what we are thinking.

@@paulsmith9192 I'm certainly begging for one. I never knew about King's Quest as a kid, but played the recent 2015 game and absolutely loved it. I would love so much for a continuation of that, or at least something similar

My 12 year old Sierra loving self is screaming with joy right now... can't wait to play on Quest AND handheld!!

Exactly like in the text game. I don't want to give spoilers, but magic is possible in the cave, and it does what it does in the text game.

They are! The rights are kind of in limbo right now... We'll see whether or not our phone rings when the Microsoft/Activation deal is consummated.
