My friend used this game as a prime example in his college thesis on how videogames are becoming a form of literature, and how the impact of interaction and choices that matter affect the experience of storytelling. He got a standing ovation after his presentation and his game will forever be a brilliant classic because of it's story telling methods. I will be so happy to play this again!

Very wise. I see too many people dismiss video games that put heavy emphasis on story as mere glorified movies.
I've been loosely studying the impact of games as a storytelling medium in contrast to video and text. Lately though you might call it more of a pursuit than a study. I'd love to read your friend's thesis. Do you think you could give us the title by any chance?

i always thought it's a game made by Valve for some reason has that same comedic yet serious vibe/style they have in all their games, definitely reminds me of portal or for example their most recent game/demo aperture desk has the same kind of tone and dialogue
edit* just found out it was made using valves source engine and that the dev was inspired by their games, so it's no wonder i felt that way

This is one of the only times I'll say a practical walking simulator was one of my favorite games ever, this game was so funny, yet so surreal. So strange yet so lovely. It hit a perfect mix, and I can't wait to see the new content!

You need to play Firewatch, Dear Esther, What Remains of Edith Finch, and Gone Home if you've never experienced those.

if this could be brought up , this game was alot of fun ngl looking forward to buying the switch port , but my question is ... how long and challenging was it to port a switch game with nintendo's permission and how long did it had to take for an official yes on the eshop?
For the longest time I thought it wasn't real and was just a long running gag.
A game that can be "finished" in a lunch break. Yet will easily give double digit hours of playtime. And no playthrough will be the same - neither will the endings and it will catch you off guard, give you chills, make you laugh and make you doubt your own perception - and also outwit you. Still one of my favourite gaming experiences ever.
Such a wonderful experience. The broom closet ending was my favorite.

Do you know if the game runs on source? Or what is the engine the game runs on. If it is running on source then we can assume that there's a lot more games that we'll get. Of course running the source engine.
@@AlienFan25 Nope, the HD version from 2013 ran on source, Ultra Deluxe got remade in Unity.

I played this game to death a few years ago on Steam. Excited to experience it all over again on Switch, and we'd better get an extended backstory on the broom closet.
In the trailer I did hear "And Stanley then walked into the broom closet" so.. they may have made it a thing

I have been waiting for this game for 3 years. I am honestly more excited for this than any Triple A game coming out this year. If you’re reading this, I beg of you to give this one a try. The original was awesome, and this one promises to have double the content.

I love the og game, I have a good amount of nostalgia for it. This game and the Portal Collection are gonna be the next two games I buy on Switch. Can't believe they put Source on Switch. wait what if they put Titanfall 2 on Switch? They have Doom Eternal, plus, Titanfall runs on source. So it might happen with source now on switch. But the one I really want is Half Life 2.

I remember watching a livestream with this game I think four years ago and it's still one of the most memorable streams that I've watched cause I almost had a headache watching it from start to finish but at the same time I fell in love with it cause of how unique it is.

Literal chills when they slowly typed 427 as the release date. This is one of the best games I've ever experienced, and I'm so happy that it's getting a remaster on switch!!

One of my favorite video games of all time, Waited for this version since it’s first announcement at the 2019 Game awards. Recently during my big steam wishlist add I saw the steam page finally went live on steam was quite surprise and hella excited for this. I understood some of the development troubles from both devs and their stories so it was worth it to wait for the game to release after all these years.

At long last, we're finally on the last stretch! Just a couple more weeks, and we'll be able to play The Stanley Parable Ultra Deluxe! As someone who has played the original game and really enjoyed it, I truly can't wait to experience this new version!

One of the most memorable video game experiences of my life. I missed the Stanley Parable Adventure Line (TM).
Omg I thought this ended up being abandoned, it’s been so long without any word! Gonna finally be able to play it again since I still can’t play the PC version cause I’m trying to get the go outside achievement lol
It feels so weird seeing this as a Nintendo trailer... Let alone being able to play this on the Switch. This version looks amazing.
One of my favourite games that I have never played
This game has had such a wild development starting as a mod for Half-Life 2 and then steam and now a switch release, so awesome.

Absolutely hilarious and thought provoking. If you have the chance, play also "the beginner's guide", by the same creator, which instead will break your heart
Crows Crows Crows if you're reading this, PLEASE bring Beginners Guide to consoles. (For those unaware, it's Davey's other game besides Stanley Parable) Its such a mad underrated game, and I think I can safely say it's one of the best gaming experiences I've ever seen. There's nothing quite like it. You haven't got to change or add anything. Maybe a bit of a remaster would be nice as well as a few minor additions or changes, but just keep it as is. I would absolutely love to see that.

DUDE I have been waiting for SO LONG! I remember years ago when I found out about Raphael's mod, and then saw that they were planning on adding some of that stuff in the actual game... and HERE WE ARE!
I've been waiting forever for this, im so happy that this is actually releasing.
For a time on the first release of the game the PC community has had it's experience spending countless hours to find all kinds of possibilities within the game, even so much as typing certain commands into the console window.
Here's hoping the game has some keyboard support or playability should the joysticks try their fun with the console window on the console version itself if it's going to be a possibility.
Onwards to a different kind of narrative adventure.
